Aug 11, 2010What is a good free lock screen replacement? I tried lockbot, but it changes style on every lock, and it has some weird bug where if I use the button to lock it, it goes black, then the unlock screen appears (screen doesn't turn off). I do not care much about theming it myself as long as it has a halfway decent theme to begin with, but I do not want to pay for it (yes, I am cheap :P ) and want to get rid of the lag associated with the default lock screen.

Jul 31, 2010Looks like I have a dead pixel issue on my camera.. when I get a replacement, can that transfer all my settings and everything over, or do I need to downbload and install and setup everything all over again? I'm using launcher pro, and setting up all 7 home pages again takes a LOT of time.

Aug 5, 2010I'm having an issue with my custom icons on my LauncherPro dock disappearing after my phone goes on standby, or I plug in my phone to my pc, or something like that.The icons switch back from the custom to the standard LauncherPro icons. However, it's not doing it on every icon, the mail and text custom icons stay, but the phone, app drawer, and web icons revert back to stock.

Aug 4, 2010i have launcher pro on my evo and when i change my icons to the custom icons i put on the phone after a little bit they all go back to the original grey icons except for my email one. Does anyone know whats going on here? Also i cannot change the way the normal icons look. No matter how long i hold down the icon the only thing that hapens is it gives me the option to put it in the trash can.

Jul 17, 2010I don't know if any of you guys know this, but this was an awesome discovery to me. I found out that you can actually move left and right on the dock to add more icons! There are 2x more sets of 5 that you can add. I found this by accidentally swiping right on the dock when I wanted to change homescreens. I now have to change my homescreens because now I can add 15 of my most used apps on the dock, which will clear up the screen space for more stuff. I'm already having trouble filling up the 7 screens.LauncherPro is AWESOME!Have any kind of "secret" tips with this app?

Oct 27, 2010I have the dock bar configured on my Droid Eris with the default icons, but I have changed the default application for each (i.e. the message icon opens Handcent instead of the default messaging app). However, I'd like to have the icon be the app that its actually running. How can I do this? I tried long-pressing the button and selecting "Change Icon" from the menu, but I can only use either the default LP icons or I can pick a picture from the Photo album. I'd really like to have the Handcent icon for the messaging button, etc.Any ideas? I've seen a few threads on here where people have changed them, but none mention HOW they've changed them.

Sep 12, 2010I'm using the Fascinate and LauncherPro (free).I've dropped shortcuts (by long pressing home screen, add shortcut) to my favorite Apps around the home screens.Well, after a reboot the shortcut custom/built-in icons 'disappear.' They become stock android icons.After some troubleshooting, I noticed that if I open up the [place where all the apps are stored] and long press dragged them to the home screen I want, they will retain the proper icon after reboot.

Oct 18, 2010I'm a long time user of LauncherPro on the Moment and though Sense is fine, I'd like to go back. The one thing I'm missing is some sort of widget or shortcut to toggle 4G on my Evo. I've searched the market and frankly, I'm not paying a buck for a simple widget. It might be worth a quarter to me, but not a dollar. Ideally, I'd love something like the notification setup from the Epics touch wiz which would be worth some $$$ to me. Anyone know a free or cheap alternative?

Nov 16, 2009This was originally going to be a post about missing icons. I'll return to that.
I recently installed a (paid) homescreen app called GDE from a guy at XDA developers. It's wonderful, and gives me a choice of the number of homescreens, transition type, and whether the sequence of screens loops or not (appears endless) It works well and is very smooth. I use the box transitions and it's very impressive.
Back to the icons, which will be of interest to anyone who replaces their homescreen app. When I installed GDE, I was basically given 5 blank homescreens. All my shortcuts were gone and had to be re-installed.
Not so bad, because it gave me a chance to re-organize my device. But, I couldn't find my CNN, ESPN, Facebook icons. That's when I started this post, because I thought they were apps, they are not, they are browser favorite shortcuts on the homescreen.
So, if any of you replace your home app and want to restore these, just open your browser, go to favorites, and long hold on the shortcuts you want to install on home.

LauncherPro 0.8 doesn't install correctly i take it.So i cannot access the homescreen settings to uninstall 0.7 because of the silly update message.Any ideas?
Motorola Droid X :: Conflict Between LauncherPro And WidgetLocker?
Aug 15, 2010Today I rebooted my phone and LauncherPro got stuck starting, only displaying a window in the top left corner, like it couldn't finish rendering the preview screen, and it never starts on that anyway. I was totally stuck without access to the menu buttons but still had the notification for WidgetLocker, so I was able to get to that, unlock it, restart the Moto launcher, and disable WidgetLocker. Now that it's disabled, I seem to be able to make LauncherPro my home again, but it looks like I'll have to disable WidgetLocker, which I really liked.Not sure what else could be causing the problem - probably something to do with WidgetLocker's home launcher sub-app.

Sep 21, 2010All of those with Launcher Pro Plus, check out the update. I bought the Pure Messenger widget strictly to have an integrated Facebook/Twitter feed. I am strictly an idle browser of both feeds - that is, I don't take them very seriously and just scroll through them occasionally. Consequently, I have no need for advanced tools, just an updating feed that I can peruse once in a while. Now LPP has a "friends" widget that is not only a free update to the app, but is faster and smoother than the Pure Messenger widget.
Also, LPP now has customizable rows/columns so you can set as many rows/columns as you want on the homescreens. This is super convenient because I always thought there should have been 5 columns on the homescreens.
Motorola Droid :: Stopping BB V0.4 From Killing LauncherPro?
Jul 25, 2010I think, because of it's memory management, BB v0.4 keeps killing LauncherPro on me so that when I go back to my homescreen, LauncherPro needs to reload itself. Is there anyway to specifically exclude LauncherPro from being killed by BB? I know it's not another task killed b/c I don't have any others installed.

Jul 21, 2010I replaced a lot of the .png's in Ander Webb's ADW.Launcher and resigned it, so it is installable. It should look a lot more like the stock Blur launcher, but with much better performance

Aug 15, 2010I'm having a problem with the launcherpro + calendar widget. When I add an event by selecting a day in the future, it opens an agenda but the start/end date is always the current date. Anybody else with a DX have this problem? Am I doing something wrong? Or is this a known issue that will be fixed in the future? I checked the LP forum and didn't see this issue.

Oct 4, 2010Before my current setup I was using CyanogenMod and their custom version of LauncherPro. It had been updated with new icons, which were similar in shape to the defaults, but had much more detail and color/shading to give them a slight 3D effect.
Well, recently I switched to Dew's smoked glass ROM and was getting stuck in never ending loops with a message stating my current version of LauncherPro had "expired" and I had to finally remove it and DL the current app store version. Ok so thats fine, except its so boring now... function-wise its as awesome as ever but its just so BLAH.
I am looking for icon packs that I might be able to use with the new version of LP, but it seems none of them on the app store have preview images. I am trying to get it to look like this. If you know of a similar icon pack.

Oct 18, 2010Rooted Motorola Droid 1 running UD8. Having trouble with my apps that are on the SD card not appearing using LauncherPro. Getting to be very frustrating. Appears that LauncherPro loads faster than the SD apps. I have been successful in "Restarting" LauncherPro in the "Setting, Preferences" tab. When LauncherPro restarts the apps are then their for use. This does not happen very often when I aas I go on. Very, very frustrating to have apps on Droid and not being able to use them. Any help will be appreciated. Ready to move on to something else if I cannot get a working runnaround. This is what the window with the SD card apps that do not work looks like. This is the message I get when I try to use one of the SD card apps. This is what it looks like when I go into "Menu, Applications" to look at my apps. Stays this way forever. This is what it looks like when I try to move an app. Never changes.
