This happening to anyone else? It's getting VERY annoying. I'm running Froyo, and normally I'm connecting as a mass USB storage. Everytime I connect it, the phone reboots before I can use it via USB at all. Any fixes out there?

This has almost become a gag, if I hit the lock button or allow the screen to timeout while inside of a text message, when I awaken the screen for whatever reason and I do not immediately hit the home button the messaging app freezes and then force closes. This happens if I try to respond or go back to the msg list. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Has anyone else had this issue or knows a fix? I want my screen timeout to be 2 minutes. When i go to the Display options I unclick the button for 30 seconds, click 2 minutes, then exit. A little while later the screen goes off and I go back to the Display settings and it is back at 30 seconds again. It does not seem to go to the value I want but goes back to 30 seconds each time.size limitation on email on a Verizon Droid?

Anyone know a way (or an app) that will change the brightness depending on whether the phone is plugged in or not. I would like it to on full brightness all the time when the USB is plugged in, but use auto-brightness when running on battery.

Not sure if we have an official list of known issues but there are a few annoying little bugs I've found when using the Desire: -
In the People app:-
You can choose which contacts you want displayed in your main contacts list, you can select from phone, facebook etc by ticking the boxes but after a day the phone always reverts back to displaying just the phone contacts. They're still linked to their facebook accounts so it's not a problem but still a bug.
Once you have a phone and facebook account linked you can choose the display name to be the entry in the phone contact or their facebook name. Again, after a day or so the phone forgets your preference.
If someone updates their facebook profile pic this doesn't filter into the People app. the only way to fix this at the moment is to delete your facebook account from the phone then set it up again. the phone still remembers the linked accounts though when you do this.
In the Browser:-
The phone always forgets your preference for having your bookmarks listed in any other order other than newest first.

I have a Droid RAZR MAXX running Android 4.1.2 and for some reason my phone just freezes overnight. When I wake up the notification light may or may not be blinking and when I try to press the power button to wake it from sleep the screen will stay off. I usually need to perform a hard reboot by pressing the power and volume down button. After that I turn it back on by holding the power button as usual and I will be greeted with most of my settings reset and all apps reverted to their previous state. For example: If I update the Play Store app the day before it will be reverted back as if it was never updated.

I just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?

My DroidX has been rooted for a couple of days now and I'm loving that new features that I can utilize. However, I didn't check my phone for a couple of hours and when I took it out to send a text I realized that my phone was shut off. Has anybody encountered this same issue? I didn't even have to hold my power button to start it back up. I simply pressed it like I was waking it up and it showed the power up symbol.Update: When starting up, it did not show the Motorola symbol but skipped ahead to the "Droid" sign.

Since the 2.1 OTA update, my Droid Eris has been a little slower and little buggy. Which I'm not that concerned about. But today, I cannot drag down to unlock my screen. When I hit menu, it does nothing. Is there another way to shut down the phone when you cannot unlock the screen?
'Sorry if this is an utter newb question, but I think if I can power down an restart the phone, I may be able to unlock my screen.

After 10 years of Blackberry I made the switch to a Droid X six days ago.
Twice in the last 6 days my phone has shut down and become completely unresponsive.
The first time was the first time I powered it off. When I attempted to power it on the phone would only show me the Motorola logo and do nothing else.
A battery pull fixed it.
The second time it went dead was as I unhooked it from my computer USB...it's a PC and I "dismounted" the phone manually first...but then...nothing....
A battery pull fixed it again.
So. That's a long way of asking: is two 'dead' experiences in 6 days leading to two battery pulls normal? Should I take it back while I can?

Had a problem with my alarm clock this morning. It went off @ one of the alarm times I have (although I could swear it wasn't checked to be on for today). But then I could not shut it off. Tried hitting nearly ever button both physical and virtual and the damned alarm wouldn't stop. I eventually just shut it off and turned it back on and that did the trick. Did I miss a step in how to turn alarm off?

I've seen a couple of threads about how to turn off different radios and data connections but does anyone know how I'd go about shutting off everything except for wifi? Pretty much what I want is airplane mode with wifi still on. (Or does airplane mode still allow you to turn on wifi?)

The GPS icon is now always on my notification area. This has only been happening for the past couple of days. Previously, it would come on when in use (e.g. using Google Maps or some other application that was using the GPS) and then would disappear when the application terminated.
I used Taskiller to terminate all running applications, but the GPS icon was still on after I killed ALL of the running applications. So, I'm assuming that it's not because of a new, or updated, application I installed.
It doesn't appear to be causing any problems, but wonder if it's really on and draining the battery more than necessary. Also, it was a reminder to me that I'd left an application running that was using the GPS.
Is anyone else seeing this?

I am very anal about the brightness setting. I keep the setting very low to save battery. While indoors this is almost never a problem but when I go outside I can't see the screen. This makes it very hard to change the brightness. How do other people solve this or am I the only one that has this problem? Does anyone know of a way to map a button (like home button) and change the operation of the long press?

So I have a battery savings profile on Setting Profiles and I have the screen set at around 25%. Problem is that in the sun I have a very hard time seeing the screen. I set it on auto brightness just now (which I like the best), but how bad is it for the battery life from day to day?
