Motorola Droid X :: Way To Set Screen Brightness?

What is yours set on?
I am very anal about the brightness setting. I keep the setting very low to save battery. While indoors this is almost never a problem but when I go outside I can't see the screen. This makes it very hard to change the brightness. How do other people solve this or am I the only one that has this problem? Does anyone know of a way to map a button (like home button) and change the operation of the long press?
View 31 Replies View RelatedUntil now I had my screen set to auto brightness.First, +1 to those who said in other threads that the screen looks even better when you turn that off and put brightness all the way up.But my question here is why, on auto brightness, the screen sometimes increased or decreased brightness when I was using it. It happened all the time. The only thing I can rule out as the cause was time delay, because sometimes it happened as I was typing or just after, and sometimes it would happen after a delay. I think it must be connected to either orientation, or movement, or brightness sensor detecting the ambient light, or something. If I could figure out how to make it stop doing that I would go back to auto-brightness.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLong time lurker, please no flaming. The Droid has an awesome screen, especially when set at full brightness. However, I typically have it set at the lowest brightness to conserve battery. On my old Windows phone I was able to have the brightness adjust to full when it was plugged in. I've looked for this setting on the Droid and thus far have been unsuccessful in locating this ability.Does anyone know if this setting exists or if there is an app that would do this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I'm using NexBeast v1.1 on my Droid and noticed in the clock app there is a brightness button that dims the screen even further (similar to the bedside app I'm guessing). Unfortunately the screen dimness only lasts while in that app. I was wondering: is there a way to set the overall phone brightness itself that low or keep the screen that dim outside of the app? The lowest brightness in the Droid settings is still a bit too bright for me.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSeeing as how the screen seems to have the largest draw on battery life, I've been running the screen brightness at "0", with the native tools. I installed an app called Quick Settings, which decreases brightness by another 10-20%. May not work for some brighter situations, but if you want to have the screen "always on" or know you'll be going hard w/ Facebook, every little bit helps.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I have a battery savings profile on Setting Profiles and I have the screen set at around 25%. Problem is that in the sun I have a very hard time seeing the screen. I set it on auto brightness just now (which I like the best), but how bad is it for the battery life from day to day?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've tried auto brightness, turning auto brightness off and keeping it on max, and the Motorola Power Control widget, but whenever I unplug my Droid X from power, the brightness dims and I have to use the widget to bring it back up to full brightness. Does anyone know how to keep it on bright at all times?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince 2.2, I don't do the auto brightness cause its always to dark from my taste so I shut that off and set it around "o" in automatic for the setting. Almost every time I re-wake the phone up its at full damn brightness and when I go into the settings it is still at my setting if I touch it it quickly dims to where it is suppose to be. Also I can get there by hitting the power button and re-waking it a couple times. Is anyone else having the issue and how do u resolve it. I have done a cache clear and factory reset then I also did is all again "Fabrian" way.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI got my Droid my automatic brightness has worked fine. It's been extremely fast, reliable and the power manager widget works great as well. As of yesterday, however, now my brightness seems to stay the same all the time. Whenever I attempt to adjust my brightness in settings, it immediately reverts back to automatic brightness and keeps itself at the same level. Also, the power manager button no longer works either. Instead of cycling through the three different settings it turns my brightness all the way up, and when I press my power button the screen takes a few extra seconds to dim before shutting off.

Recently i installed the latest launcher pro and now my brightness will not save. everytime phone is shut off it reverts to 0 brightness. same thing happens when taken off the charger, it reverts to 0 brightness. can someone help? is this a launcher pro problem or what?

View 1 Replies View Relatedi don't record video very often, so i just noticed this problem after having my droid for almost a month. does anyone else experience this? it's a little difficult to explain, but it seems like the automatic brightness of the video recorder is not working correctly. in low light scenarios, instead of the video getting brighter so you can see more, it actually gets DIMMER. i can tell this because i set up a scenario where half the room is regular light and half is low light.
things look fine in the regular light. additionally, things look fine when i have both sides of the room in the picture, and i can tell the droid adjusts a little because the the picture will get brighter, causing the regular light side to be very bright but the low light side to be visible (that's the expected behavior). then, when i pan to the low light side, i see the camera make a brightness adjustment again, but it gets dimmer rather than brighter, making it almost impossible to see anything. the screen basically turns black. i'm sure this is not how it's supposed to work, but what i'm wondering is whether i have a faulty unit and should exchange or whether everyone has this issue. did anyone understand this post?
I have a htc sensation xl. My brightness control stopped working and I now I can't change the brightness anymore. It doesn't matter if I set to 30% or 100%, the brightness stays the same.I can only adjust the brightness from 0 to 25%. I already did and wipe and stiched a phone.
