This has almost become a gag, if I hit the lock button or allow the screen to timeout while inside of a text message, when I awaken the screen for whatever reason and I do not immediately hit the home button the messaging app freezes and then force closes. This happens if I try to respond or go back to the msg list. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

This literally happens to me EVERY time I try to use it, it didnt always do this so I'm not exactly sure when it started. I've done the normal reboot etc, does anyone have a fix/reset for this thing?
This happening to anyone else? It's getting VERY annoying. I'm running Froyo, and normally I'm connecting as a mass USB storage. Everytime I connect it, the phone reboots before I can use it via USB at all. Any fixes out there?

Recently i installed the latest launcher pro and now my brightness will not save. everytime phone is shut off it reverts to 0 brightness. same thing happens when taken off the charger, it reverts to 0 brightness. can someone help? is this a launcher pro problem or what?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering how I can choose to wake up my phone without having to do the slider everytime or at all.I work at my home office 12 hours a day and my phone is on my desk always.I use it alot and put it down, then use it some more and back down again.I'd like to conserve battery and not set it to just "screen stay" aka never timeout because that just uses so much battery with the screen on.And using that slider over and over and over well you get the point.So how can I just set it to wake up on like touching the screen or something?

View 10 Replies View RelatedMy screen turns black when i wake up my phone. frequent reboots, that it does on it's on, not to mention the lines showing up across my screen. this phone has never been dropped and has a screen protector and case on it. looks like i'll be calling verizon for a replacement - totally unacceptable, but understandable considering it's a new phone.. and it seems these days things are being rushed out the door.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?

I have 2.1 leaked version 3 on my Eris and have question regarding screen wake-up.I am usually using speaker phone while I am on conversation. And after 5-10 minutes, the screen goes to black.Sometimes, I want to turn off speaker phone or use phone to look up some numbers.However, pressing call button or track ball won't wake up the screen. If I press end call button, it just hung up.It seems that there is no way to wake up the screen except hanging up and call again.Anyone has same problem?

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy phone "eris" was in my back pocket for about an hour as I was Food shopping. When I took it out It would not come out of Lock screen / sleep state. The Only thing that brought it back to life was taking the battery out and replacing it several times. I did not Sit on the phone or bump it in anyway that might have caused this. Also, when I put it in my pocket, the screen was already locked. This has happened about 4 times in the last week and the phone is just past the 30 day window for a return. On a side note, I recently installed Beautiful Widgets Version 2.85 and have noticed the phone will not go to sleep. I even unchecked the notifications option and chose all the different weather refresh settings, but it still would not sleep. Is this a bug or just the way the program works? By the way, When I say sleep I don't mean clicking the "End" button and locking the screen, But the internal phone "awake time" as found under phone status.

This helps save battery life and keep from waking you up in case you get an email or text in the middle of the night. Is there any way the Eris has something comparable? After I put it back in the phone was completely reset, no contacts, no messages, no email, no downloads. I use google sync to recover all my contacts and such but when I cut the phone off and cut it back on again it is completely reset again and this trends continues time and time again. . and to make matters worse its saying that I have zero internal memory to install my apps again from the marketplace.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my last full discharge, I looked at the Spare Parts app battery history, and took a look at partial wake usage since I've read thats where you can see what apps are really draining your battery. What i saw that above everything was UID 10074, then android system, and then usual stuff. What is UID 10074? I google and searched, but the one time it was mentioned someone said they didn't know. It said something like over 3hours usage for partial wake for UID 10074. My battery life isn't terrible, but this thing seems like its hogging resources?

Its 10000% more convenient than going up top to the lock/sleep button (especially on the droid which feels kinda awkward to get to) So my question is, are there any apps out there, or any settings, that will make it so i can wake up my phone by pressing either the volume rocker or the camera button or maybe something that keeps the home key awake?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have my yahoo account setup in the android email app. Thanks to a previous post got it working beautifully.. when i click an email that has an image attachement and chose the Save function, its then shows the crash/error messege "The application Email (process com.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."Ive tried numerous emails in my yahoo account with pics and it crashes it every time. No idea why. When i open an image in my gmail account using the gmail app its saves fine.

Almost all of them say to go get Spare Parts app from the market and check you "partial wake usage".
I did that and 95% of my partial wake usage is from "Android System".
Is that normal? Anyone who is getting good battery life (20+ hours) - what do you see in the partial wake usage?

I am running GDE in the background (not my default home screen).
Recently, after i take picture(s), the screen will prompt me to "Insert Memory Card"... After i off & on and inserted the SD card, take 1 or 2 picture(s), it will prompt me again. Then, watever picture(s) (the latest one) was not saved... I can only view all the old pictures only Next, when i deleted all the pictures in the album, they will still appear again after i off & on the phone... Tried deleted them from the Media Go but still after off & on, they will appear again.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm the proud owner of a month old Droid 2, but the damn thing keeps freezing or locks up completely when I play my music on it - sometimes it even restarts on its own. It doesn't matter if I'm playing my own MP3's or Pandora. While at work this happens maybe 3 to 5 times a day (docked to a desk/home charger from Verizon) and it's really frustrating. I noticed this started happening once my phone updated to 2.2.20 a few weeks ago. Just this past weekend I took it to my local Verizon dealer. They said they updated the PRL and this often corrects the problem. I got the phone home and it locked up immediately. I've restarted repeatedly, removed the SD card and battery but still no change. Any suggestions? This will be my fourth replacement if I need to take it back and have it replaced.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to understand remote services at the moment and everything works fine, i can start the service and know how to communicate with it through the AIDL-interface. My problem is that the service seems to still run in the same process like the activity it was started from, because the activity crashes too, if there is an error thrown in the Service.
I set the service process to remote ( android:process=":remote" ) so what am i doing wrong? Or what do i have to do to unbind the service-process completely from the activity-process?
Just curious, I have my phone set to time out after 2 minutes. Is pressing the lock button on top the only way to wake it up?

Was wondering if anyone else had this problem.I've noticed sometimes when I leave my phone alone (standby, screen turned off, etc) and try to wake my phone, the phone does not power back on at all. And yes, battery still has a good amount of charge left.I can press the power/wake button but no response. No unlock screen, nothing. I hold the power/wake button and it does not boot either. Only a battery pull will allow the phone to boot go back to normal again.Anyone have this problem before?
View 3 Replies View RelatedDon't know if this was ever posted, never saw it. If you want to be able to wake your phone with the trackpad, go to the market and get "No Lock". Its an app to disable the slide down to unlock. Well I found out that the trackpad will now wake the phone. Just click the trackpad. No need for the top button. Also the side buttons will wake the phone. So if you keep your phone in your pocket be careful.

His phone won't wake up using the power button and he has to take out the battery and it won't recognize the sd card. we both rooted about a week ago and are both experiencing seperate problems. (mine keeps randomly rebooting during the day). we didn't have any of these issues earlier in the week. what do we do?
