View 5 Replieswhen I type on my virtual keyboard (swype ) for every letter I type there is a click , I want to remove it but cant figure out how.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst I'd like to say I don't know how I ever typed without Swype. Whoever thought of it is pure genius so I love that. However can someone tell me how to turn off the clicking noise when I press a letter? I like the vibrate to let me know that I touched it but could do without the Storm-esque click. There was one more but I forgot it at the moment.

I just did a factory reset on my phone to clear up some lag. It has definitely helped, but I'll wait and see after a few days. Anyway, I'm just about finished putting all of my customizations back, but there's 1 thing I had before that I can't find: When I click on an icon on the desktop screen, or in a menu, I used to have a clicking sound. I remember there was a setting for it, but I can't seem to find it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use sound when typing.....its now quiet like muted i can barely hear it so it's there but i can't get it loud all of a sudden. Is there a mute or something i can't find?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I just picked up my Eris yesterday. For the most part it is working great right now but a couple things are a little annoying.
First, pinch zoom isn't working in the Google Maps app. Should it? Works great in the browser when surfing the web but not in maps for some reason.
Second, it clicks at me. For example, I'll hit the red power/call end button when I'm done using it to turn off the display. Then I'll set it down on the table or something and it makes these little intermittent click sounds just sitting there. After 5 minutes or so it stops. It isn't constant, just a couple clicks ever 10-30 seconds for a little bit then stops.
This may not be important at all but I did think this was a bit strange. After I rooted, I noticed a clicking type of sound coming from the camera whenever I booted the phone. Its kind of alarming but not sure if I am the only one.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I take a picture in Google Goggles, i hear 2 clicking sounds coming from the phone. The first sounds comes when the capture button is pressed, and the second sound comes as soon as the picture is taken. I don't hear these noises when taking pictures through the regular camera app. It sounds like it's coming from inside the phone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy "beloved" Epic was working perfectly last night but this morning as it sits here, it is making a low clicking noise (about every 3-5 seconds). Almost sounds like electrical something. Nothing has happened to the phone (no water, dropped or anything).
Has anyone experienced this with their phone? I only got it less than 2 weeks ago too. The phone is perfect so far (obviously room for improvements with 2.2 but I am actually quite happy as is). I am so hesitant to even have to replace it because my battery life has been amazing! I feel like a got very lucky with this one. I still have tons of juice left by the time I go to bed at night (which is when I recharge it.)
Are u able to change the clicking noise to another sound when u touch the screen?

Dev = ne0fhyk from XDA.
From the XDA forum: Link to app page = [APP][ROOT/Keyboard] Keyboard Manager - Dual keyboard: Portrait/landscape switch - xda-developers
Verbage:
Keyboard Manager allows you to customize what keyboard (input method) appear on input based on your phone orientation.
It displays the keyboards you have enabled on your android device, and let you select one per orientation (landscape/portrait).
As your phone switch orientation, the app automatically switch the keyboard.
Requirements:
- Rooted android device (app was tested on Samsung captivate 2.1)
- Root Explorer app, or similar app that allows you to edit the permissions of a file.
To install:
1- Download the app (KeyboardManager.apk) on your device sdcard.
2- Using Root Explorer, move the apk file to /system/app
3- Using Root Explorer, edit the file permissions like below:
-- User: 'Read/Write' checked
--Group: 'Read' checked
--Others: 'Read' checked
4- Exit Root Explorer
The app should be visible in your launcher as 'Keyboard Manager'
Update:
- Added option to disable notification icon
-' start on boot' feature is disabled because it's not yet complete and tested... Sorry for the confusion
Bugs:
-On certain applications (i.e: Messaging on Samsung Captivate), the input window occasionally freeze on orientation switch. Exiting the app, and resuming should fix it.
The app is still in development.
I read few threads, I'm sorry but none of them works/answers the simple scenario of:
1. I popup a dialog.
2. The dialog have EditText on it.
3. I want the keyboard to show up (without the need of clicking inside the edit text).
I tried:
CODE:.............
Then I tried both: CODE:.............
And: CODE:.............
just wondering if this is normal or not, someone told me it is normal for the droid.for instance - when your on the home screen and you hold the camera button down, it'll make about 3-clicks when starting up. it also makes the clicking noise when it is focusing before taking the photo. the most noticable is when using an app like shopsavvy or barcode scanner are these apps supposed to be focusing back and forth non stop? and if so, is it 'normal' for that clicking noise to go non-stop while it is focusing back and forth?
on my droid x whenever the phone vibrates either when im clicking something, getting a text or a incoming call. the phone makes a buzz noise. also i noticed the phone does not vibrate as heavy as it should and is not as noticable when its in your pocket with the sound off. i used a droid 1 and a droid incredible in the past and both of those the vibration was quieter. so im wondering are everyones droid x like this or does mine just have a defective vibration mechanism or something?
View 3 Replies View Relatedis it normal for the camera to make a clicking noise. for example when im on my home screen and i hold the camera button to open it the camera makes a couple of clicking sounds am i the only one with this problem or is this all droids.
View 9 Replies View RelatedDoes haptic feedback (vibrate) and sound on the keyboard. Really effect the battery life? I have the feedback off because of typing lag, but like having the sound on.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf you have your droid closed, and you press the down firmly where the search button is located does your droid make a clicking noise like its hitting the top of the keyboard? when i push the right side of the phone firmly it makes the noise and feels looser. is this because i took the plastic off the back of the keyboard?
if i want to exchange at best buy should i use their insurance? if i do exchange should i just tell them it reboots in case they dont want to replace because of this noise? Or is this noise/touching normal?
This is driving me nuts! Ive had my phone for a week and all of a sudden today it makes the worst clicking sounds when I type anything. It literally sounds like a typewriter.
I have Settings>Sound & Display>Audible selection "unchecked" and I still get this.
Can anyone help me figure out how to turn this off?
Ok I found it and boy did I have to do some digging. settings>applications>running services>android keyboard>Sound on Keypress = Uncheck.
I heard that double clicking a swype word should bring up the word choice window but it only highlights the word when I do it. anyway to turn it on?
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust wondering if there is anyway to set my phone in such a way that my ring tone will turn off when I open the phone (either unlock/ do anything to the phone). As it is right now my ring tone (a full mp3 song imported from my pc) will play until I drag down my notification bar. I'm using tone picker and handcent sms if it makes any difference.
Also, is there a way to edit the the keyboard input sound when typing with the stock keyboard?
How to block virtual keyboard while clicking on edittext in android?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEveryone knows that to hide a keyboard you need to implement:
CODE:............
But the big deal here is how to hide the keyboard when the user touches or selects any other place that is not an EditBox or the softKeyboard?
I tryied to use the onTouchEvent on my parent Activity but that only works if user touches outside any other view and there is no scrollview.
I tryed to implement a touch, click, focus listener without any success.
I even tryed to implement my own scrollview to intercept touch events but i can only get the coordinates of the event and not the view clicked.
Is there a standard way to do this? in iPhone it was really easy.
Dont get me wrong, the QWERTY keyboard is sick, and I love it. But after typing on the keyboard for while, I wanted to switch it up, so I tried the on screen key pad. And to my surprise, the on screen keyboard appears to be much quicker than using the QWERTY!
