On my wife's Droid X, the status bar indicates that she has a voice message. After logging into her message box and clearing all voice messages, the status indicator never goes away. Any idea how to clear this out? It's been there for a few days now. I've tried powering down and removing the battery. We are on Verizon if that matters.

I was wondering if it is possible that when I swipe to clear a notification (in particular messages, I used GO SMS for text messages and Whatsapp) that it counts as a 'read' message. At the moment it just removes it from the notification bar although the message is still unread.

It looks like some people had this issue. For some reason "New Voicemail" notification is stuck in the notifications bar for me. I tried everything i could find online to get rid of it and its still there. I called myself left a message and then deleted it. I called from a different phone, did the same. I rebooted. Nothing seems to help. I am using google voice for VM now.

When someone calls or texts and ur not around the phone to hear it doesent the phone have a setting where it rings every 1 or 2 minutes. To alert you that you have some sort of message waiting. Other than the little tiny green light that blinks when u have a message. My env touch you could set it to alert you 1,2 5 15 30 minutes after initial message.

I saw that the eris comes with a voice recorder, but i recorded a message and was not able to send it.

Also, when sending pictures via MMS, it always resizes them and obviously the person receiving doesn't get the same quality. I realize that sending via Gmail doesn't resize, but i send to other cell phones a lot.
I'm thinking the only fix is lowering the camera resolution? I think that lowering the resolution is still better than having it resized for the message. Has anyone tried lowering the resolution to a point that the picture does not need to be resized for MMS?
Same thing for Video messages.. can't even send them. Not sure if it's HAndcent, or the file is just to big
I have handcent sms for my droid but i have a few questions
1. i have the "Droid" voice ringtone but when i get a text message it says "Droid" twice idk why its doing that i thought i only have it set to go off once
2. also when i get a new message it gives me a notification in the bar on top and the only way to make it go away and make my led turn off is by manually dragging down the bar and clearing it! is there any way i can have it just not show up or fix it or something?
On my old phone (LG Dare) the phone would beep every x number of minutes if you did not read a new text message. Is there a way to set it up on the DX so that if i don't read a new text after the initial ring, it will beep or play the rington like every minute. this is the only feature i miss, bc sumtimes i walk away from my phone and miss the text coming in and i wont know its there unless i check my phone. I would like to have it beep or something every minute as a reminder that you have a text waiting.

When I click the text the time is correct once the text app launches, but the notification time is always off by 4 hours. I saw someone mention an offset??? Where is that and is that only for Handcent? Will that affect the time in the actual text app? Because that time is right.

There is no notification or number on the messaging icon to indicate number of unread messages.
Unless I'm mistaken, it seems the X only ringtones or vibrates one time when an SMS, MMS or GMail is received. There does not seem to be a method to allow periodic ringtones, vibrations or LED blinks -- to indicate a message was received. So the only way to see if you have a message seems to be to wake the phone up. If true -- this would be a real bummer.

When I used to get texts on my old phone (LG Dare), the screen would light up for a couple of seconds everytime I received a new text message. With the Droid 2, it seems like I can only make the phone vibrate or make a notification sound. However, when I'm at work, I keep my phone on silent and can't have my phone constantly vibrating on my desk. Is there a way to set the notifications up so that my screen can alert me of a new message? I don't have the time to constantly check my phone for text messages during the day and I think I'm wearing out my battery quicker with the constant turning on and off of my screen to check for new texts.

Buzz again and Droid! Again. So I think I got two texts when I have one. I don't have handecent or anything. View 2 Replies View RelatedI went to text someone today, and for what ever reason, the message failed to send, and I received the "Message not sent" notification. I tried again, and the message was sent. Now every time I send, or receive a message that notification pops up. "Message not sent - Select to review the message and try again" and when I open the error message, it triggers another to appear. "Undelivered message - Unable to Deliver this message" even though all the txts have been confirmed to go through. This is driving me crazy, any one have any thoughts? It even gives me the message when I open an old text that I have already read.

Used to happen every once in a while, now doing it multiple times a day. I use Handcent but I doubt that is the problem because the messages dont show up in the regular messaging either. View 7 Replies View RelatedThis is driving me crazy. How do I clear voice mail notifications? Let me explain what I do. Of course the first thing is listening to the voice mail. Then I delete it. The notification is still there. When I open the notifications area I see voice mail pending. It's the same voice mail that I already listened and deleted. I click the voice mail icon and it tells me there is no voice mail. Then I go to settings, calls, and there is an option to clear voice mail notification, but is grayed. I can't do anything there. The only thing I can do is turn the phone off and back on. That is the only way I can clear the notifications area. There should be a better way. Anyone has the same problem?

Craigslist) but when I get a text it gives me a notification for my text messaging app and also a notification for the google voice app. I'm wanting it to only send me a notification in the voice app. I'm sure there's a setting i'm looking over but if someone knows what this setting is please let me know.It drives me crazy to get 2 for the same message.
