Motorola Droid :: FRG01B Galley Lagging And Take Along Time To Load After Update

Nov 28, 2009I have noticed that the green 'online' status indicator in Talk doesn't update on my phone when someone signs off, it stays green for them. They show as offline on my PC but continue to show online on the Droid. If I sign out and back in to Talk on the phone it will update their status, but otherwise not. I've tried closing chat but that doesn't seem to work, I don't see anything in settings that would affect it either. Any ideas?
I'm the only one using Android, my other contacts are all using Talk online (not with a phone) if that makes a difference.
Motorola Droid X :: DX Lagging / Phone Actually Freezing?
Sep 20, 2010Anyone else having an issue with their dx lagging to the point to where the phone actually freezes and a battery pull is necessary to undo the problem?
I'm running rooted dx with stock 2.2 with flyx final ROM with black glass theme
if there are others having this issue let me know what you did to correct it, or if its just one of those days
Motorola Droid :: Widgets Lagging Phone And Redraws
Nov 12, 2010I have been flashing roms a long time, since the days of sholesmod. Things have gotten easier, developers add great tools to roms to make switching over even easier, but there is one thing no matter what rom i run that i notice. Typically after 2-3 days after rom and kernal settles in, no matter what rom( I have tried almost all) i get so many redraws and home screen lag that i am starting to get tired of having a slow phone. I know your going to ask how much memory i have left on the internal(normally roughly at least 90 mb), Did i wipe boot/system/ data/cache/ yes before every rom install religiously. Am i over clocked? yes normally run in the 1200s, my droid is a beast at accepting every kernal/rom i throw at it. Lately i have been running lfy 1.7 and UD 2.0 in the last month and they start off so fast and impressive and then just get so lagged after a few days. I typically use launcher pro, although i have used adw alot, some roms work better with one or the other. I always use titanium backup, i always let the new rom install its own system apps and never use backups from other roms.I can deal with some lag at times but my biggest thing is app draw re-draw and when i have more than say 5 widgets running it gets so bad. a big culprit seems to be beautiful widgets, yes its pretty much my favorite of all. I am looking for any good advice from all the amazing helpers in these forums. My current set up is UD2.0(first time with UD) i still am running the stock kernal but looking for best advice on working (non-boot-looping) kernals to try that have ulv and interactive governors.

Nov 23, 2010I'll start by saying I have been reading these forums for quite awhile. The information on here was what swayed me toward purchasing my DX, and I thank you for that as the phone has been great.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced pretty severe lagging with the stock media player as it has been happening to me quite often lately.
I will be listening to an album and not using the phone otherwise, then I will try to switch to another application and everything will freeze. The music will stop, occasionally a black screen appears and no buttons work.
The result is usually a battery pull.... This has happened to me twice already today, so I wanted to see if others have experienced the same thing with the media player, and if it is the media player that's the culprit, perhaps recommend an alternative.
Motorola Droid X :: Touch Screen Lagging - Unresponsive When Swiping
Jul 16, 2010I got my Droid X yesterday and for the most part I'm impressed. (I didn't realize how much I liked HTC's Sense UI until replaced my Incredible with this phone.)
So far my only frustration is the touch screen. When I'm swiping between home screens, or even in applications, it often doesn't register anything or it'll open the first icon I touch even though I'm swiping. Sometimes I have to press an icon a couple times before it'll open up as well. This is getting REALLY frustrating because I can't just do things quickly but I have to watch to see if what I selected actual opens or swipes, etc.
I've only installed a few applications, including LauncherPro. Is anybody else having any issues like this?

Mar 29, 2010I had to take it back yesterday it will not update my profile, I'm on sprint. rotation was lagging. and i had to install my gmail account to times before it didn't come up with an error. I don't know is this worth waiting it for 2.0. i don't know what they can do to fix the problem.

May 16, 2010Now that I've updated to 2.1, most of the apps (weather and time apps) no longer work correctly.I live in Panama City Beach but these apps continue to tell me I am slightly north of Tallahassee over 100 miles away and in a different time zone. Stays the same regardless of GPS on or off,I have deleted and re-installed all of the offending programs and that didn't help either.Everything was great prior to the update.

Jan 8, 2010Just got a new Android phone, my second after a brief stint with the G1 a year or so ago..
Today I noticed that I received notifications that I have apps with updates available. When I click on the notification it takes me to my downloads in the Marketplace, but it doesn't show me which app has an update. They all just say Installed.
Is there no way to tell what application needs updating?

Jan 13, 2010I love the ERIS and have had it since late November. Over the last few weeks it has been lagging really bad. I have been so busy at work and home that I have not had time to try and get it back to working correctly.
Right now my up time is 32:09:02
Awake Time is 6:25:17 (20%)
I plugged it in to the computer and it is showing 6.89 gb free out of 7.39gb. Anyone have any ideas?

May 27, 2010My Droid Eris is lagging terribly and I'm fairly certain its due largely to the number of texts i have saved in my phone. After going through the site for what seemed endlessly and trying for 2 days to erase the mass threads I've decided to do a hard reset. My contacts and calendar are backed up on gmail so I'm not worried about losing any of that but are the photos/video saved to the SD card or will they be erased?

Aug 4, 2010Tasker does not seem to function unless I use the motorola control panel and turn on bluetooth, wifi, and gps. If I shut these off via the control panel then tasker does not turn them on at the appointed times and events.Which begs the question, is tasker REALLY turning them off? or are the icons just going away in the notification bar (because they still show as on in the control panel widget)Has anyone else noticed this issue?

Jan 31, 2010So, when i put my phone on a Vibrate (using the volume buttons on the side) it just puts it in Silent Mode, but with a vibration icon. it doesn't vibrate for anything. granted it doesn't make a noise so that's not all bad, but it just sits there and flashes its little light...
Cause i mean it is the easiest way for me to just pop it into vibrate mode, but the vibrate doesn't work, and i don't want it completely silent, as i do still want to know when i get something.

Jul 21, 2010I use the Handcent SMS and the LED color (blue) and it worked perfectly fine. I set the color to a custom color now and when I get a text, the LED for SMS doesn't show up. I also have the custom color off now too. I also have Missed Call. I used it to set a color for the SMS LED, but it still does not work.

Jun 6, 2010I've started using 2.2, and it's going great, but I've noticed that when I read and archive an email on my phone, it's not reflecting it on the computer.Previously whenever I'd run into issues like this I'd clear the cache on the Gmail Storage in the Manage Applications menu, and it'd resync, but in 2.2 there's only the Gmail app, and the Clear Cache button is grayed out.
