I noticed the Droid 1 and 2 can rotate the home screen. Is this a hidden feature or possible update for droid x? Its kinda annoying to have to rotate the phone when backing out the the home screen.

Unless I have the keyboard slid open, the home screen doesn't rotate.Apps do, but the homes screen doesn't. I have the auto-rotate open selected in settings.Also, when in my car dock, everything shows in landscape except when I am in a call.The call still shows up in the portrait.It is kind of annoying and lame

Also, anybody know if it's possible to rotate the screen to the right and not just to the left? Shouldn't the acceleromater detect all the different rotated modes (even upside down?). that'd be cool

View 2 Replies View Relatedhere is another 2.2 problem I am having, this one is kinda bothering me.I am using a program, need it to rotate horizontally, I turn the phone, nothing happens.I shake the phone, nothing.Shake it again, finally the screen rotates.If I start some apps with the phone upright, the app opens sideways.I turn the phone sideways, turn it back upright, nothing.It takes several tries before the screen rotates properly. Im sick of having to move the phone all over the place if I need it to rotate.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI just bought the Nexus One unlocked for AT&T and really like it. 1 wierd thing is that when I rotate the phone counter clockwise, the screen goes to landscape just fine; but when I rotate it clockwise it does not go to landscape "the other way". And, if I'm holding the phone 'normally' and rotate it 180 degrees ('upside down') it doesn't follow.My youngest daughter delights in telling me that her iPhone does this with no problem. What's up with that?
View 7 Replies View RelatedHome screen used to do landscape immediate and always. Now it doesn't do landscape at all unless I slide the keyboard out and it pops into landscape immediately. Then when I close the keyboard it goes back to portrait even when I'm holding the phone in landscape. Not sure how to fix this, help please.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have suspected this on every ROM I have run (stock 2.1, all tranquility roms, and now rubix 0.3 (which I love except the single unexpected shutdown of the phone once).
My screen just doesn't turn off no matter what the settings/display/screen timeout is set to (30 sec, 1 min...)
I test it by turning on the phone, sliding to unlock and then staring at my homescreen with a stopwatch. It can be 5-10 minutes before it turns off.
I have interrogated with spareparts and the phone does have a high percentage of "running" from bluetooth and wifi, but isn't the screen supposed to shut off even with those background processes running??
I don't have anything special installed for power management, just stock stuff.
I went to the market and found some power managers but I don't have any confidence a third party app will solve this problem.
I love Helix Launcher 2 with its 3d app scrolling and 4 shortcuts, but is their a home like that with less lag? Because my phone lags nonstop now. Also on a side note. Is their a Ultimatedroid theme for Cyanogen? I <3 Ultimatedroid's theme and thats the only reason I use it over Cyanogen.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen at the home screen and then moving two screens to the right I get to what looks to be some type of image player in the middle and it has the Media Share, Blockbuster, Camcorder, and Gallery at the bottom.
While playing around with the camera I just took some random photos of junk and have since deleted them. But now in the middle of the screen I still see what seems to be the last image I took. Yet the file isn't actually on the phone or card. The round button in the middle (with the square around the 'play' icon) is selected but red (when I touch it it turns green and used to scroll through the photos before I deleted them).
How do I get this ugly blurry test image out of this screen and back to the way it was before?
I bought the dock for the droid the other day and i really like the home screen that comes up when you plug the phone into it, but i was wondering is there was anyway to access that screen with out the dock. the screen that im talking about is the one with the music player, photo viewer, dimming the alarm clock, etc.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this is like a default option but i've found thet my X's entire OS goes into landscape mode, including app tray, browser, apps, everything. I haven't downloaded any apps that do this and while its in this mode it wont rotate back to portrait. The only way I could change it back is by rebooting. I haven't found a way to voluntarily recreate this, it just happens, maybe by a certain combination of keys,but I'd like to know how to recreate this. I'm sure its probably really obvious so forgive me for my obliviousness

About an hour into my trip, Nav would intermittently close, and would return to the home screen. However, the app wasn't always completely FC'd, but running in the background, and could be returned to by dragging down the Notification bar and reselecting it. This continued for the last 2 hours of my trip and was extremely annoying. Has anyone else experienced this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIm on the Rom manager 2.1. It's been working for days now and I backup my roms pretty much every day. Today I installed a new app Vlingo and my apps disappeared off my home screen. I restored from 2 days ago, but I'm getting the same thing. The apps load at first, but within 5 minutes, they go away. Then, if I apply some apps on the now empty screens, they will be on top of the old ones when I reboot.
