Jan 29, 2010I tried calling *228 and then pushed 2 and it tells me the phone can't be programmed.I have also tried option 1.Am I doing something wrong?Does anyone else have this issue?

Motorola Droid :: GPS Doesn't Work In Morning
Feb 1, 2010This is strange. The GPS on my Droid will only work in the afternoons. Whenever I try to use Maps or GPS Status in the morning, no signal is obtained. But use it in the afternoon...anywhere from 7 to 9 satellites are found.After the time stamp issue with the camera, I'm wondering if there's a similar issue with the GPS.

Aug 4, 2010Tasker does not seem to function unless I use the motorola control panel and turn on bluetooth, wifi, and gps. If I shut these off via the control panel then tasker does not turn them on at the appointed times and events.Which begs the question, is tasker REALLY turning them off? or are the icons just going away in the notification bar (because they still show as on in the control panel widget)Has anyone else noticed this issue?

May 2, 2010I have so far found two bugs in Galaxo 1.6.3:
a) Speaker doesn't work in call (very weak). works well in ringtones etc.
b) Scrolling contacts by letter doesn't work.
Other than that this is a leap forward, especially with the overclock options!
Both bugs, as well as others, fixed in 1.6.3.1 update!

Nov 17, 2009Have many of you had the issue that only the earpiece speaker or earphones work, and the handsfree loudspeaker doesn't kick in, unless you're making a call and choose handsfree? This is particularly annoying when listening to music and you want it through the louder speaker, or if you set an alarm, or receiving calls...... Nov 9, 2009I look forward to my Droid from Verizon.. unfortunately the Voice Dial appears disfunctional.If i go "Call Joe Blow".I get "Calll Joe Blow at home' Call Joe Blow on mobile choices on the screen. ok I could live with that as my Razr sometimes had difficulty, but I MUST PHYSICALLY SELECT THE CORRECT CHOICE.. so much for hands free.what is even worse is that if I say Dial 800-555-1212 it also prompts me for phsyical confirmation.For a phone in a hands free state this is worthless.Is this something that software will correct in the future??? Jun 13, 2010Has anyone else noticed the Amazon MP3 App (the one that comes preinstalled with the phone) doesn't work if Wifi is turned on? I've tried it on two wifi networks (home and work) and I can't purchase or download if it's on.
I don't know if it matters, but both networks use WPA2. One is PSK and the other uses RADIUS authentication.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so does anyone know a fix?
Motorola Droid X :: Screen Timeout Just Doesn't Work?
Oct 3, 2010I have suspected this on every ROM I have run (stock 2.1, all tranquility roms, and now rubix 0.3 (which I love except the single unexpected shutdown of the phone once).
My screen just doesn't turn off no matter what the settings/display/screen timeout is set to (30 sec, 1 min...)
I test it by turning on the phone, sliding to unlock and then staring at my homescreen with a stopwatch. It can be 5-10 minutes before it turns off.
I have interrogated with spareparts and the phone does have a high percentage of "running" from bluetooth and wifi, but isn't the screen supposed to shut off even with those background processes running??
I don't have anything special installed for power management, just stock stuff.
I went to the market and found some power managers but I don't have any confidence a third party app will solve this problem.
Motorola Droid : Virtual Keyboard Sometimes Doesn't Work
Feb 8, 2010Just wondering if anyone else runs into this problem.... Every so often, I go to type in a message, either on the pop up from handcent, or in the actual program, and no matter what I hit, the keyboard doesn't type anything. I can switch inputs from Swype to Android keyboard and usually it doesnt do anything (though sometimes it starts working again). Sometimes it fixes itself if I leave it alone for a few minutes, but other times it needs a battery pull to fix. It's not a huge deal as it doesn't happen every time i use the phone, but definitely something I wish didn't happen

Dec 8, 2009I'm trying to determine whether or not my phone is defective, or if this is a current problem with the Cliq.
Of the apps I've downloaded, only a few of them have worked. Of those few that work, some don't work right. Has anyone had problems with these apps crashing on them, or just not working correctly?
- Nice Battery (see description at bottom of: My Ultimate CLIQ settings (so far))
- WeatherBug (kept showing the wrong location, crashed when trying to change location)
- Snake - doesn't work just says its "paused"
- RingDroid - crashes when I select the "Facebook Pop" button
- Layar - screen is rotated 90 degrees at all times
There have been others, but usually I just uninstall them right after discovering it doesn't work right.
Motorola Droid :: Rebooting Into Recovery Using Rom Manager Doesn’t Work
Sep 5, 2010I have a MotoDroid that has Froyo 2.2... I rooted it and am running a new rom. I was trying to boot into recovery using rom manager and it doesnt work. I also tried holding the x and power button down to reboot and it wont work either. It just shows the "M" for a long time then flashes "M" comes up again and in load like normal or it sometimes freezes and I have to take the battery out. just also tried to back up current rom and that doesnt work either.

Cannot get wireless tether to work anymore. It gets superuser permissions, My laptop detects the network, it connects to it, but I cannot load any pages and nothing is being sent up and down except for 3-4 kb.

Android : Finger Drag On Motorola Droid Emulator Doesn't Work
Jul 16, 2010I am programming an android application and my "testing" device is a Motorola Milestone (Droid). I have done a grid that scroll like the iPhone home menu ( with "points").
I got two problems:
The first one : the drag only works on the Android Device Emulator and don't on the Droid! (Maybe the multi-touch screen is a problem?) The drag is too responsible, and flip views sometimes one by one (this is ok) and sometimes 2 by 2 or 3 by 3! That is clearly problematic!

Jul 26, 2010Has anyone else noticed that when they turn WiFi on through the widget (either android or motorola one) it doesn't always actually turn on wireless?
I usually have to go to WiFi settings and then once I do that it connects to my router. This will keep happening until I restart the phone and then the widget will work another 1-2 times and then I'll have to go into the settings menu until I restart again.
Unrelated: Has anyone else had their 3G dropout today or is it just me? I'm in the northeast.

None of those suggestions made a difference.So to test I sent myself an email and had the GMAIL app open on the ERIS.It sometimes give me a conversation notice but does not actually download the email to the app for a long time. And then only if I force a refresh.I have full 3G where I am so that can't be it. Also, I do no have a task killer and I keep mobile on all the time.The ERIS doeseverything else very well with the exception of e-mail.

May 16, 2010Now that I've updated to 2.1, most of the apps (weather and time apps) no longer work correctly.I live in Panama City Beach but these apps continue to tell me I am slightly north of Tallahassee over 100 miles away and in a different time zone. Stays the same regardless of GPS on or off,I have deleted and re-installed all of the offending programs and that didn't help either.Everything was great prior to the update.

For example, if I put someones bday on july 14th and look at that same day the next year, it shows their bday on the 13th. I tried this on my Aria and on my friends Incredible and Evo. So what gives, is there a fix for this. I've tried downloading several calender apps, but they always just have a different layout and different functions, but in the end they just end up doing the exact same thing.

Jun 14, 2010I've had an HTC Desire on Orange in the UK for about 6 weeks and it is having persistent problem. Firstly despite having a strong 4-bar out of 4 signal, online services and the internet do not work at all when a 3G signal is being received (e.g. news, weather, all widgets, internet, email etc).Calls and texts do work however with a 3G signal.But when a 3g+ signal (HSDPA) is being received, all internet services as above work fine.However, when a 3+ signal is being received, the phone does not make or receive calls or text messages, and often fails to send texts. Calls I make immediately shut down (bleep + �call ended�), and incoming calls from other people go straight to answerphone. Also often when turning the data connection on/off, it freezes and has to be rebooted, and turning airplane setting on and off does not fix the problem.
I have also tried the different network settings (GSM, WCDMA, auto, etc). �GSM� sends and receives calls and texts but doesn�t work (or is incredibly slow) with internet, and �auto� and �WCDMA only� show the problems as above.I don't think this is a network/coverage issues as, as I have seen many people reporting these same issues on other networks and in other parts of the UK, and I have read that other people are having to manually turn off HSDPA to be able to make calls (using an app?). Even if I can stop HSDPA from connecting to make sure the phone works, I still can�t use the internet at all on 3g � even GSM works better!
Finally, when I connect to a bluetooth device (e.g. car and headphones) the phone will connect briefly, and then randomly disconnect. I have also seen this issue reported elsewhere.I very much like the phone and don't want to get rid of it, but these problems are making the phone unuseable.Also I don't know if I should be contacting HTC or Orange about this. Will the upcoming Android 2.2 fix these problems?Anyone know how to fix this or if I need a new handset? Are there any apps that can help? Also does the Nexus One have these problems and are they fixed by Froyo?

Jun 30, 2010On my UK Milestone (rooted), long press on the search button only works when the hardware keyboard is shut, when the keyboard is open, long press works the same as a short press.
While looking for a fix for this, I found very little information on the net, so I'm wondering if it's a problem with only selected devices. Can anyone confirm for me if theirs works or not?
I have OpenSearch assigned to long press search, and since I always use the hardware keyboard, I need to close it, long press search, then open the keyboard. It's annoying.
I've looked at editing the qwerty.kl file in /system/user/keylayout, my idea was to try to redefine to search key on the keyboard (between left alt and @) to launch OpenSearch, but it apears that I can only redefine keys to other keys that way, not launch apps.
