Android : Finger Drag On Motorola Droid Emulator Doesn't Work
Jul 16, 2010I am programming an android application and my "testing" device is a Motorola Milestone (Droid). I have done a grid that scroll like the iPhone home menu ( with "points").
I got two problems:
The first one : the drag only works on the Android Device Emulator and don't on the Droid! (Maybe the multi-touch screen is a problem?) The drag is too responsible, and flip views sometimes one by one (this is ok) and sometimes 2 by 2 or 3 by 3! That is clearly problematic!

Update : It doesn't work anymore on the Google Nexus One!
Motorola Droid :: Anyway To Keep SD Clean?
Jun 15, 2010I use my SD card often and like to keep movies in Movies folder, music in Music folder..etc..basically keep my data nicely organized for consumption later with approriate programs. But when I look in the SD card in windows, there are dozens of app created folders. Is there a way to make android create a Program Files like directory like windows so all app data can go into it?

Android :: Google Nav Substitute For US Folks?
May 18, 2010Summer comes and I will be doing lots of back road driving to the camping spots where cell phone service not available, hence, I will be cut out from the Google GPS navigation. Is there a substitution to GoogNav for Android phones? I know CoPilot got a software, but I only saw it for Europe.

Nov 16, 2009When I started playing with my new Droid (4409) I saw that it had the same auto-focus issues that everyone else complained about.Setting the unit to action made it focus at infinity, so somewhat better but I couldn't get shopsavy to recognize any barcodes.I cleaned the lens even though it didn't seem dirty and now Shopsavy locks onto bar codes and the unit seems to Auto-focus with just about 100% lock (green corners).Could some of the problems people are having just be be caused by lens placement and skin oils?

Nov 26, 2009I'll be getting a Droid about the middle of next week. Most my Google contacts don't have phone numbers attached, just e-mail addresses. I also have a Google Voice account and number and plan on using it for most of my phone traffic (which really isn't all that much). About a dozen of my contacts are in there now with their e-mails and phone numbers.
Most my e-mail contacts (a couple hundred) aren't divided into groups right now.
Do I need to clean up my contacts before getting the Droid and syncing things up? Any tips for doing so if needed? I don't want to mess up my Droid right off the bat if there are some things I go do in advance to make getting up and running smoother.

Nov 6, 2009I have little spots on my screen. They aren't dead pixels and they can't be cleaned off. It looks like they are like little spots of residue left over from the screen protector that was on the phone when you buy it. But they don't come off. They're only noticeable when the background is white.
Second, the keyboard is wavy. It's like the rows of the keyboard go up and down, almost like the keyboard didn't fit well in the area it's supposed to go. So the spaces between the rows are lifting up a bit and creating a wavy keyboard. This isn't really much of an issue, but just curious if other people see this as well.

Jul 6, 2010So I have a squeaky clean account with Verizon, four lines, all smart phones minus one phone. NEVER missed a payment and always upgraded. I have had plenty of problems with my phones but never complained too much or created issued. I have been very nice with them, but I've about hit my limit here.
We have a defective Moto Droid on our account, and a defective Incredible. They have already agreed to give me an X for my Incredible. But, they have sent us not one, but now 3 refurbrished phones that are crap. The screens have ALL been loose, and the build has been absolute crap compared to the original phone. They are sending me another one from a different warehouse tomorrow. I am so irritated. If I receieve another refurb with a loose screen and bad build I don't think I am going to be able to deal with Verizon very nicely.
What do you think I should do? Should I be nice and wait for ANOTHER refurb if this one is bad? Or should I get mad and tell them they can take there refurb backs and send me a NEW phone?
Motorola Droid : Best Homescreen App - JUST For More Than 3 Screens?
Mar 18, 2010Well we've pretty much all heard by now that 2.1 will not be including any more than 3 Home screens. I was REALLY hoping for 5, as 3 is not enough and I'd like more room to play with Widgets. Even with folders and some snazzy organizing it's still not great.
What's the status on Home Screen Replacement Apps? All I know about it Home++ but last I read it was pretty buggy and Force Closed quite a bit. I'm not looking for anything crazy I really just simply want more than 3 screens, 5-7 ideally...are there any apps out there that handle just this?
