I have root, and I was wondering if there's any way to get more screens without having to use different firmware nor a home replacement.
Editing files is fine, and etc, just want more screens, everything else, I pretty much have how I want.

Any other lock screens with 2.0.1 then the regular slide to unlock? (like pattern lock) I am getting my Droid tomorrow, and wanted to know if I could somehow out a lock on my phone.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I have a squeaky clean account with Verizon, four lines, all smart phones minus one phone. NEVER missed a payment and always upgraded. I have had plenty of problems with my phones but never complained too much or created issued. I have been very nice with them, but I've about hit my limit here.
We have a defective Moto Droid on our account, and a defective Incredible. They have already agreed to give me an X for my Incredible. But, they have sent us not one, but now 3 refurbrished phones that are crap. The screens have ALL been loose, and the build has been absolute crap compared to the original phone. They are sending me another one from a different warehouse tomorrow. I am so irritated. If I receieve another refurb with a loose screen and bad build I don't think I am going to be able to deal with Verizon very nicely.
What do you think I should do? Should I be nice and wait for ANOTHER refurb if this one is bad? Or should I get mad and tell them they can take there refurb backs and send me a NEW phone?
Well we've pretty much all heard by now that 2.1 will not be including any more than 3 Home screens. I was REALLY hoping for 5, as 3 is not enough and I'd like more room to play with Widgets. Even with folders and some snazzy organizing it's still not great.
What's the status on Home Screen Replacement Apps? All I know about it Home++ but last I read it was pretty buggy and Force Closed quite a bit. I'm not looking for anything crazy I really just simply want more than 3 screens, 5-7 ideally...are there any apps out there that handle just this?
Does anybody know how to add more home screens?I was told by bestbuy mobile that it would be capable of 12 hoem screens?

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn 2.0.1 I gained 5 screens by rooting, deodexing, and using Xultimate to patch my launcher to give me 5 screens. Is there any procedure for 2.1 to achieve the same? I see how I can get up to the deodexing point, but I doubt the xultimate patcher would work on the 2.1 launcher.

Why the flip do the widgets lock into such ridiculous places!? Sometimes you could fit a whole other line of regular icons in the space that they leave!
So my question: Do any of you have OCD about how the screens are set up, and how do you set it up to work?
I found a easy way for you non-rooted/non-Home++ to capture your screens. Download the Steamy Window app. Run it and close it right away. Go to the screen you want to print. Press and hold the Home key. Run Steamy Window. Wipe away all the steam. Hit the menu button and save the image. It seems like a lot of steps, but it is pretty quick and easy. The only thing the pic won't capture is the notification bar.

However, when I restored helix, none of my apps were restored to their appropriate home screen like it normally is. It's a pain to drag them all one by one again to where I want them. Am I missing something, or is there an app out there that will remember them next time?
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust starting to play around with the new X. I tried the car dock on my first trip with nav without having the charging cable plugged in. Nav seemed to stay on the turn-by-turn screen just fine, except that the screen kept timing out (as expected running on battery). Today I also plugged in a charging cable. Nav started out working fine, but then several times during my trip the X inexplicably switched away from the turn-by-turn screen to the directions screen (or to the "maps" top-down screen). I didn't see anything in the options, and can't imagine why the thing would be switching. Also, I just updated to the latest Google Maps application (last night, between the two nav tests), so maybe that had something to do with it....
View 46 Replies View RelatedOn Saturday evening, I went to look up a score and found my Droid's homescreens wiped clean. I mean nothing was there. Folders, shortcuts, widgets, all gone. Nothing but my background. I thought I hit some reset or a magic delete function. After a few minutes of befuddlement, I cycled the power. Lo and behold, everything was back. Now, I'm very patient with glitches, so I didn't really think anything about it. Until this morning, when buddy texts me having the same exact problem. I advised him to reboot. Screens came back So I'm not hearing anything about update pushes, so I've gotta ask if anyone else saw this bizarre behavior in the past 24 hours.
