Motorola Droid :: What Does Question Mark On Battery Icon Means?

View 2 RepliesI just bought the Droid today and am having problems with the charger/battery? I used it all today after purchasing it until the battery ran down. The entire time the battery icon had a question mark instead of the actual status (which I thought was odd at the time). I plugged in my Droid after it died and it turned on, but it doesn't seem to recognize the charger.
I've had it charging for the past few hours, but I still cannot unplug it without it immediately turning off and the battery level is stuck at 5% (the battery and question mark is still in the corner too). For clarification, when its plugged in to the charger, the phone will turn on and function. As soon as I unplug it, the phone turns off.
I know this comes in some ROMs and maybe some themes, anyone seen a stand alone option for people in root to add this ability in the MENU bar, not the task bar?
View 37 Replies View RelatedSo earlier today I flashed cyanogen's rom and noticed that the battery icon on the notification bar had the battery % on the battery, the built in one not the on from the battery indicator app, and I thought that looked really slick. I was wondering if there was a way I could get that thru using metamorph or something.

Since updating google maps last Friday, my GPS icon goes on all the time and my battery seems to drain faster. I cannot shut it off except to cycle the power on my phone. Anyone else notice this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to change the color of the battery icon? I know you can change the fonts, status bar, clock color, etc. It would be pretty cool to have a variety of colors to change to instead of the blue, green, etc.
View 6 Replies View RelatedHeres a custom round battery icon I made this morning. I didn't really like any of the ones already on here so I made this. Its green 100-60, yellow at 40, orange at 20 and last but not least red at 10. Should install via MM.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI made a custom blue Droid battery icon(based on Manigma77's "3Dbattery" icon). I just changed the color. It is part of my setup shown in this thread: http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-droid/47148-learning-experience-care-share-yours.html
There has been enough interest in it that I figured I would post it up for those of you who would like to have it It is a Metamorph file and easy to apply. Here is what it looks like:
Of course the icon changes with battery status as it should Here is the file:
Is there an app that puts the battery percentage in our battery icon?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIve read a few comments around different forums stating the droid x has ipddr2 running in dual channel but can't find any concrete evidence of it. Ive also read posts from people saying that the fascinate does not run in dual channel but is still ipddr2. What exactly does this mean and is there any truth to it? I was thinking if its similar to how pc memory works it could be why the x is getting higher benchmarks or is this all nonsense?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am getting ready for a backpacking trip and taking my Droid along. As of now, I seem to be out of luck as to find a charger that will properly charge my phone when away from the normal means of charging. Has anyone used any portable batteries with their Droid? Right now, I have an APC Universal Battery 10WH and it doesn't charge my Droid at all. I am looking at the Just Mobile Gum Pro 4400mAh.
I have found that the Droids are very picky about where they get their charges from. I have a wall to usb and a car usb converter that doesn't work with mine or 3 other Moto Droids but will work with any other device that will charge via USB (iPod, GPS, other phones, etc.) Also, I have seen that the Minty Boost will charge the Droid, but their kits are backordered right now.
I loaded bb v1.0 with the 1.0 ghz kernel pete has on my friends droid. It is the same setup on mine. His battery was dead within 3 hourss. I noticed his sync icon is in the notifcation panel however it is not spinning. I think the calender is trying to sync and there fore is draining the battery. I deselected the auto sync option but the sync icon is still in the notification panel. Any suggestions what is going on or how to remove the sync icon. I rebooted and killed apps via task manager with negatives results.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have finally gotten my notif. bar just right. i used the 24k theme and changed the battery icon to green and slowly changes to yellow then red. Like this
100-green
80-green
60-yellow
40-yellow
20-red
0-red
charge-red
Then reverse order while charging i manually changed the Hue and Saturation of every icon in gimp and can upload them if anyone would like them.
I liked the battery icon but not the color and i didn't know if anyone out there would like to have them!
I have uploaded the pics of them let me know what you think!
THESE ARE NOT MY ORIGINAL IMAGES I CHANGED THEM AND I AM NOT TAKING OWNERSHIP OF THEM JUST PUTTING MY SPIN ON THEM!
I just picked up the Droid X yesterday and so far love the phone. I had the Incredible a few months ago but had to return it due to some camera hardware issues. Anyways, my phone came with Android 2.1. I upgraded to 2.2 after charging my phone. Now:
1) Whenever I turn off WiFi, within 1 hr my phone will keep telling me it detects WiFi networks, I'll go back in control panel and sure enough WiFi has some how turned itself back on.
2)My battery usage icon, when I click on the battery to get a breakdown of what's using power it 'force closes' every time.
I've been running defrost ROM, but wanted to try opendesire for the 720 video. But whenever I try to flash a new ROM using ROM manager, the phone re-boots as normal, but I get a n icon of the phone with a red question mark above it... The phone then just re-boots as normal without flashing anything?
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust found out what "unlimited" data means according to Verizon. If you don't know what I mean, have a look here: Verizon Droid Tethering Will Cost You - Business Center - PC World. Anyway, with a wifi connection established, is it safe to say that my Droid will not transfer data over the 3G connection so I don't have to worry about this, or do I have to turn the 3G off and loose the ability to send and receive calls to know for sure that I'm not risking racking up more fees?

View 12 Replies View RelatedIs there not a way to do a question mark while using the slide out keyboard?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI dunked my Moto Droid as I fell into a pool this weekend. I probably tried to boot it too soon after that happened, but now a few days later it is operational. Theres a few flecks in the screen display but otherwise I cannot notice any serious deficiencies in the interface. The one major problem I am having however is with the battery. Obviously, it got wet as well, and when the phone did become operational again, it indicated about 50% charge and went down from there as I used it. After it powered down though, when I plugged it in to charge the battery indicator showed a question mark and I can no longer charge it. The Droid will operate when plugged into a wall outlet only (not my computer). Is it possible that replacing the battery is the only necessary fix?

I have a Droid with Android 2.1. I am on a CDMA network. I send messages to some people on a GSM and when we use non-ascii characters, like ± or ¡ or Japanese and such, over sms, the other end gets them as question marks . I don't know anybody on a CDMA network so I can not test if the problem would be there too. I don't know if it is a problem between the networks or something wrong with my phone or what. Finding information in google has proven unsuccessful. Though I found some text naming it a 'common' problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI guess I have my first major problem with the phone that I can't seem to figure out. As of last night, the battery icon on the top right of the screen has been showing a "?" symbol instead of the usual colored meter.
I tried charging it and the symbol doesn't change it either. Also, it does not seem to charge. I tried turning my phone on and off...and it doesn't do anything.
On my Vibrant I have both the standard "green battery" icon in my taskbar, as well as a downloaded battery percentage icon. I've noticed that the standard icon does a really poor job tracking the actual battery percentage. For example, the percentage will show 35%, but the icon will still appear two-thirds green.

Also, is there a way to get the circle battery icon in the notification to work for aloysius? I feel with these 2 features added, this rom would be even better!
View 1 Replies View Related I just logged into my Verizon Online bill to check if my Google Voice settings are working.
I am seeing my cell number listed for a bunch of calls with the description "CL DELIVER"
Any idea what that means?
Since my number is showing up, I think it is being billed as Mobile to Mobile minutes, which are free, so it's not a big deal. Just wondering what it means.
