Motorola Droid :: Mark As Unread In Handcent?
Jan 11, 2010I must be missing something obvious here, but how do you mark a message as unread in Handcent?

View 1 RepliesI sent a mass text out today. people started responding. But I am left with 1 notification for an unread text. Well, I have read that text, but it won't clear. I deleted the specific text, it won't clear the 1 in my status bar. When I pull my status bar dropdown menu, it shows the text, so I click on it and handcent force closes. I deleted the entire thread from the person, still didn't clear. Powered down, still didn't clear. DELETED handcent and reinstalled, still didn't clear.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've searched all over and cannot find a way to mark Read SMS text messages as Unread. I get lots of texts and sometimes don't want to address specific ones until later. On my BB and other phones, I could mark as Unread, so it would stand out later when I could deal with them. There doesn't seem to be an option in the initial menus for texts.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've added my hotmail account to my mail app but every time I load it up all the emails it has pulled down are unread (read on the server), any way to mark them as whatever they're marked as on the server?
View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated to 2.1 and 2.1v2.. Handcent will not show my unread count on the little icon in the top left corner. It did before I updated, but ever since, I cannot get the counter to work?
Has anyone else had this problem or more importantly, know a fix?
I'm having a problem with Handcent on my Droid. It seems like only one or two of my contact's pictures have carried over to Handcent, so whenever I get a new message or I look in the app, it just has the generic picture with the question mark.
View 11 Replies View Relatedwhen the stock Messaging app wasn't cutting it, I installed Handcent. But it started flaking out on me, so I dumped it and went to the more-reliable chompSMS.I liked it a lot.But to be completely honest, I missed some of the features of Handcent. But reliability is Job 1, so I kept chompSMS for a few weeks. Then I heard that Handcent received a major update a few days ago, so I replaced chompSMS with Handcent. So far so good. I got all the features back, and I haven't had one single issue in days of texting. So if you're like me and you left Handcent for chompSMS, you may want to give the new version a spin.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI just got a Droid today and am enjoying it so far, but one issue I've been having is I want to be able to know when I have an unread message without having to unlock the phone. My last phone had a setting that allowed me to set a tone or alert that would go off every 2, 5 or 10 minutes while I had an unread or un-listened-to message on my phone, so even if I missed the first alert I would still notice when I had something new.
View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody know of an app that will show how many unread emails you have for gmail and corporate email? I like the default program but the widget is just a shortcut and doesn't show an unread count. I looked in the market and couldn't find anything. There has to be an app for that, it seems so basic. If I'm not making sense: I have handcent and the Handcent widget puts a little number of unread messages in the corner of the widget.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI switched from my Itouch to the Droid X but an having issues with the email icon not displaying the unread email count. I can open Messaging and see the Corp Icon and it shows the number of unread emails. Can I add an Icon for my Corporate Sync account to the desktop so that I know that I have unread emails?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought the Droid today and am having problems with the charger/battery? I used it all today after purchasing it until the battery ran down. The entire time the battery icon had a question mark instead of the actual status (which I thought was odd at the time). I plugged in my Droid after it died and it turned on, but it doesn't seem to recognize the charger.
I've had it charging for the past few hours, but I still cannot unplug it without it immediately turning off and the battery level is stuck at 5% (the battery and question mark is still in the corner too). For clarification, when its plugged in to the charger, the phone will turn on and function. As soon as I unplug it, the phone turns off.
What does the "?" by my battery icon mean?

View 9 Replies View RelatedWould it be possible to disable the syncing of "read" status between my phone and my gmail inbox? On my blackberry, when an email was pushed, I would read it, but it wouldn't be marked as read in my inbox itself. I liked that because then I would know I had to address the email when I was next at a computer. I don't always have time to send a reply from my phone right when I get an email, but I like being able to look at it on my phone without it getting marked as "read" everywhere.
Is my only option to add a gmail account via POP3 instead of IMAP? I tried that and didn't like it because then none of my gmail filters work, and messages that would normally just be archived end up getting forwarded via POP. I dealt with that on the BB by setting up filters on the BIS side, but I can't do that here if I just tell the droid to just fetch all the email via POP as it comes in. Is there any way to keep the filters in place but not have read status synced?
I have a Droid with Android 2.1. I am on a CDMA network. I send messages to some people on a GSM and when we use non-ascii characters, like ± or ¡ or Japanese and such, over sms, the other end gets them as question marks . I don't know anybody on a CDMA network so I can not test if the problem would be there too. I don't know if it is a problem between the networks or something wrong with my phone or what. Finding information in google has proven unsuccessful. Though I found some text naming it a 'common' problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedInstead of the default apps (such as gmail or text messaging), I use k-9 mail and handcent and as such, have gmail set to not receive email, and text messaging to not use notifications. Is there any way to have LP show unread mail or messages with non-standard apps? If so, how?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use and prefer the stock email app, but currently have a small issue. When looking at the folders, it says there is one unread email in the trash folder. However, when you open the trash folder, there is nothing there (I regularly delete my emails from it). Why this is happening and how to correct it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a few gmail accounts on my Droid and that work fine, but my msn email that I added has a problem. If I get messages and don't open them, then 15 minutes later I get a notification of new mail, but when I check there's nothing new. So then I tried marking messages read to prevent this but some of the messages revert to unread on their own then renotify me as if I have new messages. So I either have to open them or delete them to stop getting false notifications.
Anyone else have this issue, any settings I can change that will fix this? Nobody has access to this email account except me so I know it's not a matter of someone marking unread from the desktop.
I just switched from the HTC eris to the Droid and had no issues with IMAP on the eris which is running 1.5 OS. What's happening is I setup my personal domain email as imap and all works. I mark all messages in the inbox as read. When new email comes in it marks the entire inbox as new. I've deleted the account multiple times and done a hard reset. I even tested this in the store on 2 phones.
Moto doesn't have an answer and I found this thread on the VZ forums Droid IMAP emails always Unread - Verizon | Forums and Blogs - Verizon Community which the OP is using the same hosting company as I am. I've never had a problem on a WinMo, BB or iPhone setting it up the same way. Something seems off but not sure what it is. I've setup GMail via the same mail app and that's working.
This is the only thing I miss from my Blackberry. I know I can add a message icon on the homeccreen but I want to have 1 inbox on my homescreen that displays an unread message count and the inbox includes:
-all missed calls
-voicemails
-facebook msgs
-texts
-email
Is there an app for this? or a way to do it i'm missing? search resulted in unadressed topics.
So like everyone else I was getting really annoyed about the time stamp issue with handcent under 2.2. I looked at the release notes for handcent and saw that version 3.27 added some sort of timestamp fix for the Droid X. Apparently this actually causes problems with the DroidX 2.2 official release. I got an older copy of handcent (version 3.26) and now everything appears with the correct time stamps. I got the apk from here: Download Handcent SMS for Android at Freeware Lovers. You will also need to use the app SMS Time Fix from the market to address the problem with the delay that causes messages to be out of order. So I guess one less thing broken, now if only they can fix the double lock.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I downloaded Handcent and the handcent keyboard in order to have T9 functionality (I like to type fast with one hand), and found the Handcent T9 keyboard to be pure crap.
First, it doesn't even have basic words in it, but mainly the letters only show and the numbers don't, so have to do a seperate thing just to put numbers in. Since it was free I got what I paid for.
So I search the market and found Better Keyboard and then had to also buy its T9 app, called EvenBetter Keyboard and this is much better. Is it worth it to buy to apps (2.99+3.99) just for T9 when there was a half-ass working one in Handcent for free? I don't know, but I am happy with it.
Was wondering if other people used T9 on Handcent and/or EvenBetter keyboard and what are your thoughts.
Please dont let this thread become a QWERTY vs T9 fight. Just asking about T9 and which vendor do you prefer using?
I'm trying to change my "Account Picture" in Handcent so that I'm not a silhouette with a question mark above my face in the chat threads. Unfortunately, when I go to change my Account Picture, it does nothing. Instead, it changes my X's home screen background to whatever picture I had selected for my Account Picture.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI've searched, but I guess I'm not putting in the right question.I have Handcent set up do show messages in bubbles, but it doesn't. Anyone have suggestions for what I'm doing wrong in setting it up?Is there somewhere that I'm missing that says USE BUBBLES or something? I have the colors and all set up, but it just shows the standard style. Under the bubble setting, I have Handcent selected.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got my droid and so far I'm loving it but encountered a couple of issues. I immediately went to download chompsms but it is nowhere to be found in the android market. I tried to install it from the web browser but it gives me an error message "There is a problem parsing the package".
So I installed handcent sms and it seems fine except when I go to compose a new message there are no contacts in the contact list even though I have all my contacts from my gmail account.
I have been using Handcent for awhile. Recently been having problems with duplicate messages in Handcent. I think it started when I switched to Koush's Rom, but I can't swear to it. I use Google Voice for all my calls and text, but I send and receive my text via Handcent using my GNumber. The default client has the duplicates tos, so I don't think it is Handcent's fault but either the phone is somehow duplicating the message or the problem is with GVoice when it forwards the text to me. I can send texts just fine and no one has complained to me about recieving double texts, so I believe it is only my incoming messages. It also isn't 100% of the time, but I would say around 80%.
