Is there a way where you can create sections within a media app? I mean so that you can pick whether you want the song within a lets say workout songs section or travel songs section. I created folders within the SD Card but it shows all songs within the same section on the phone. I also downloaded tunewiki but same results.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a customized Cursor based adapter for my ListView. Each Cursor has a few columns of data, sorted by the priority column. I know you can create a disabled list item to act as a sort of header, like in the Market app (the little green labels). What I would like to do is display a header for each group of items with a different priority. They are already sorted by priority. Example data:
title, priority
note1, high
note3, high
note2, low
note4, low
Example of what I want in ListView:
= High Priority =
-note1
-note3
= Low Priority =
-note2
-note4
you would think that google would have had an amazing gmail app on their android os. Gmail app isn't even as good as their web version! Long emails have sections truncated with... at the end and I can't see attachment pictures even after clicking show pictures

View 11 Replies View RelatedI think the Dialer is very powerful but I am unable to get it to recognize parts of a phone number. For example, most of my saved numbers include area codes (most of them are 'xyz'). When I type the first three of the 7-digit number (excluding the area code) no results show. It seems as though the area code must be typed in order to get results to show. Obviously, almost 95% of my contacts have an area code of 'xyz' and that's, IMO, too many buttons to press to start narrowing down to get a specific contact. Does anyone know how to change this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create .mp4 video clips that when you click on the link in a browser (I have an Evo 4G) the clip will buffer and stream in the HTC Streaming Media Player. So far I only get this error message when the streaming media player launches: "Warning - Video is not for streaming play. Would you like to download the file." All my clips play great when downloaded to the SD card and they all stream flawlessly on the iPhone. Not sure if this problem is HTC specific or all Android phones. Has anyone created .mp4 clips that can be streamed from a website? What software and settings are you using? I'm using Handbrake which obviously isn't working.

Personally I like using more on my computer...I just feel I can edit them better. The site I use is... Free Ringtones for mobile and iPhone - Audiko. You can download them to your computer, then e-mail and download to your phone or send them direct to your phone. I started Maps on the phone and successfully loaded the map from the web. The map shows up on the phone, but when I try and go to navigation I have to enter start and end points. View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't create a new entry in Calendar. When I long-click on a time and select New Event, it says "You must synchonize a calendar before creating a new event."
OK, so I try syncing to my Google account. But when I go into Settings in my Google account (Settings, Accounts, Google) I only see Sync Contacts and Sync Gmail. (Gmail syncing works fine.) I don't see Sync Calendars.
Furthermore when I go into the Calendar app on the Droid 2 and select More, Calendars, no calendars show up.
So I think there's something missing. I don't see a way to add the calendar to my Google account on the Droid 2.
If I tap the menu button while in the playlist section there is no options other than go back to library.

Is it because most of the hardware is the same as X and the design is very similar to the Droid 1, that media interest is low? Seems the only people pushing this device are a few Android blogs. This is compared to previously launch devices for Droid 1, X, EVO and Inc.Even the posts in this forum are kind of low, compared to the original Droid, the Inc, the EVO and the X. Lack of media reviews and total preliminary posts here suggests the Droid 2 is being treated as as a Droid 1 refresh, hence the lack of high interest.I would consider the Droid 2, IF the sound output from the 3.5mm jack is louder and better range than the Droid 1 and X.
