View 4 Replies View RelatedI use this browser on my NokiaN95. It's ridiculously fast and it pretty much does everything, even Flash... I've posted a link to their platform requirements page which is way over my newbie head -- so if you are a bit technically minded, can you tell me if this would work on the Droid? Also, if I would have just downloaded it to try it and it would it have NOT worked, could I have screwed something up by doing so? (I didn't try yet, thought I'd check first.) Bolt Browser - FAQ
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been reading these forums for a while deciding to trade in my old dumbphone LG VX8300 on an Incredible. As a software engineer, I do lots of study before I commit. So yesterday when I get my new Incredible, I'm shocked to find out that the browser doesn't support animated GIFs! I don't care about the ones with smiley faces poking another smiley face in the eye with a stick, but most of the weather apps use animated GIFs to simulate live radar. That is one of my big uses on the old VX8300 (I do lots of motorcycle riding in the summer and want to know which way the rain is heading)The Weather Channel, AccuWeather, etc. all think they have moving radar images but none of them work. I did find RadarNow in the app store but that wasn't sufficient. I eventually found that WeatherBug Elite ($1.99) has moving radar images (they must use a different technique). I finally found a discussion over at the Android developers list of known issues Issues - android - Project Hosting on Google Code that discussed the issue. The developer has made a change for Froyo for large memory phones like the Incredible to enable animated GIFs. There is a mention of this over in the Motorola Droid forum, but with all the new folks jumping on the Incredible, I thought it might get better visibility here. So here's one thing that Droid doesn't. that the iPhone (and my ancient dumbphone, and Blackberry, and Palm, etc.) does.I just thought I'd share my experience so others can find it later.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat is your preferred general method for instituting animated GIF support in browsers that don't have it? I use the Animated GIF Player app for GIF files, but even the Galaxy S3 failed to play a humorous North Korean GIF the other day when I browsed to the URL on my friends phone trying to show it to him.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've looked around but I can't find anything on it. I just moved some animated pics to my photo folder on my Behold II and when I view them in the photo gallery it's just stuck on the first frame and stays that way like a regular picture. Is it possible to have animated gifs "move" on this phone or is it not supported?
View 9 Replies View RelatedHave to say this works great on my droid x given the dimensions.Love the option for blending wallpapers in the bg. Look forward to a larger widget option though similar to weatherbug's.
View 29 Replies View RelatedI do a lot of MMS where animated gifs and 3g2 files are quite common. After searching I found some old threads indicating android doesn't support anim. gif (back then), but found nothing on 3g2.
Is this still the case for gifs and what about 3g2? Different messaging app or browser perhaps? My bud's Hero plays anim. gifs fine and it runs android...

View 8 Replies View RelatedI was able to get the animated live wallpapers working on the 2.1 ROM (only Nexus does not work). Disclaimer: This can brick your phone and should only be done if you know what you are doing and are willing to take the risk, I bear no responsibility for your actions. Directions.
1. Download this zip file, it contains the necessary lib files and the live wallpaper files. wallpaper files - MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service lib files - MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
2. Unzip these files and place on your SDCARD. (I created 2 folders one named libs and the other app). You need to place the four Live wallpaper files in the app folder and the lib files need to be in the lib folder.
3. Restart your phone in the recover console.
4. Select mount sub-menu
5. mount sdcard and system
6. type busybox cp /sdcard/libs/* /system/lib
7. type busybox cp /sdcard/app/* /system/app
8. unmount both sdcard and system
9. restart your phone
just wondering if anyone thinks with the 2.1 update coming it might give us droid owners and nexus one ppl a similar animated weather wallpaper option like on the hd2..just a thought..would like to hear what people think
View 31 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to my local tv station's web site and try to view their animated weather radars, I can see them but they don't animate. Is this due to flash, something with the web site itself (not being mobile-specific), or am I just using the wrong app to view weather radars?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have several animated gif's I had converted over to png's with Fireworks 8 but when I place the frames in the folders part0 & part1 then use the developer SDK software and upload the bootanimation.zip files they will not work. View 3 Replies View RelatedNeither the default browser, nor Dolphin works when I use wi-fi. It just says "processing" or something like that, but they can never finish loading the page in question. Sometimes they even claim that I don't have a data connection, even though I have my wi-fi turned on (and the wi-fi works flawlessly, I can use the Market and other apps without problems). Opera Mini works fine. However, when I browse through my 3G connection, they all work perfectly.

I feel foolish as all get-out, but I have managed to put the screen on my Eris into an animated rotation mode. I.e. instead of snapping from horizontal to vertical, it rocks from side to side for a annoying period of time. I can't find the setting under 'display'
