I only see this with people in my contacts that have the same first name as a facebook friend people like Bridget are fine.
I was wondering if there is a way to control how often the Motorola Social Networking application updates with Facebook. I have searched the phones settings for a month and have not found anything.

I swear I've read about people setting theres to only do it every couple of hours or so to help with battery life but I can't find anything for this. The only thing I've managed to find is an option to set it to only sync over WiFi. Forgive me if this has already been asked but I couldn't find any answers to this dilemma.Oh and also, what exactly is considered "Background Data"? There's an option for enabling/disabling it and I wondered what the term encompasses.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to see if I can get any good advice on a replacement phone for my work. The droid is my personal phone and I am up for a new device for my business phone. I have Verizon for my business phone as well and we are on a corporate plan. So the carrier has to be big V. I would try an android phone (other than the droid...I don't want two of them ) but I don't know how well android integrates with the Windows server for syncing contacts, calendar, outlook, etc. Any suggestions on phones currently out or coming out in the next month or two? Can have a physical keyboard or a decent touchscreen keyboard. I don't care as long as it works better than my HTC Touch did. Once I got my Droid. The resistive screen just didn't work for me anymore.

One problem I would like to know is how do you exit web pages without turning the phone off? When I hit the browser icon, it takes me back to the last page which is still open and I don't know how to close them.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this is possible on the X, but how do I calibrate the touch screen? I've noticed two things that are beginning to drive me crazy. The first is that it is so sensitive at times, if I pass my finger over a button without actually touching the screen, it thinks I pressed it and executes the function. Second, I noticed that the spot I touch actually is off a bit so when I try to hit a link from a list (such as a thread here) it will pick the one above it.

It seems that when you are done with an app you just have to hit the menu button again.. but this leaves it in memory running.. is there anyway to close the and and just leave it? I did download the Advanced app killer but that seems silly to have to pick from a list of what you want closed.. I see no way to just close the app you are in.. it should be a default option for every app.. I hope I am just not finding it.. and it is there somewhere..

She just has a month unlimited data. Does that work or will I have to do pdanet/easy tether or a wifi hack on the phone for her? She is leaving today for a trip and seems to think its just going to work because the phone says wifi on it.

After you root, do you use the wireless hotspot app already on your phone, or do you need to download another app to use. I'm not quite brave enough to try this yet, but as a previous BB Storm user I tried nearly every upgraded OS that was leaked and never had an issue. The universal androot app looks pretty fool proof.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI already picked up some good tips but am having a lot of problems with my droid. I will start with the tethering issue. I have mine done with smoked glass and it has the wireless tether installed. It will open and my computer will sync up with it either secured or unsecured and then you will see a several seconds flash of bytes in and out and then the kbps will drop down to 0 and I will be unable to connect to the internet. I have read that newer versions may solve the problem and that if I dont have my ordinal sd card in, it might be the problem since the info may be needed? I did try copying those folders onto this card but still no good. The android one to be exact. If the only option is to remove this tether and install a new apk one, how do I that? I cant seem to find it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedBeen running with my Droid now for 3 weeks and I'm finally going to start playing with running wifi at work (my cube and only my cube I have 3g issues ) and I connected to it a couple days ago. Our network admin in his infinite wisdom created a pass key that is like 46 characters long. So I entered it, and was connected. Fast forward to today, I enabled wifi again and tried connecting to the network and it asked me for the pass key again. Does it now save that? Is it supposed to? I would assume that would be a pretty big PITA that every time I want to connect to wireless network that I've connected to before it re-asks me my password.
