There is an app called Shortcovers. in the android market. It will let you both read free books an Buy Current Best Sellers Books. The site is uses a Kobo ereader and they sell them at the Borders bookstores. I am just thrilled to finally find someplace that has an easy access to purchase current books for my little Droid.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWell to start things off, I had my iPod touch 1st gen. stolen out of my car, and finding out that the cable I use to play music over my Alpine headunit will not work with my newly acquired iPod touch 2nd gen. has prompted me to look into other ways to have all my music with me in my car as well as be able to play it over my stereo.I found this lovely little A2DP receiver online very cheap:All in all, this has cost me less than an iPod cable that would work with the newer iPod I have, and makes everything much simpler, reducing the number of devices I carry. View 48 Replies View Relatedso I just tried out our music player this evening. Among many other things, I have to say this thing is AWESOME. Yes, I agree, the user interface could use some work. However, the sound is MUCH better than my ipod touch. I use my ipod for music and this monster for everything else. Well, my battery in the ipod died so I put the same earbuds in the Droid and was amazed at the sound.Must say that I am constantly amazed with this thing.

I'm just updating to the newest leak, but froyo is awesome. When i first installed (CW) i lost root... i did another android and it has worked fine. I love BB but this base ROM is so fast, stable and fantastic... Ive had 2 FC's in 3 days, and no issues. Ive updated to the new baseband and it helped my signal issues... I'm running team chaos theme and i LOVE the black and white combo. I'm Daniel and Froyo is working great for me.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI updated to Froyo really early along on my DX and am pretty sure I'm using the first leak still. My phone constantly locks up/overheats and I have to battery pull to get it working again. I would like to get the most updated Froyo which hopefully doesn't lock me up anymore and also root it again.
What is the best way to do this without actually knowing which version of Froyo I am using? I don't mind losing all of my data and starting over, but the locking up is just becoming way to frequent. I have it in my head that if I flash back to 2.1 stock and do the OTA, then do the root again it would be much smoother. Am I on the right track? I really stepped away from the root scene for a while after I rooted mine so I am lost.
Hi everyone! I got my Cliq this morning, and so far I LOVE it.I am an ebook junkie, and I was wondering if there is a way to install the books I now have on my pc (and my HP Ipaq) over to my Cliq. Worst case I read 'em on the HP, (like my mobipocket books, until they come out with a reader for android!) but I'd REALLY like to move them over.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHQ videos don't download fast enough on 3G or Wifi! I didn't think too much of it until my friend came over with his new Iphone 4G. I told him about the new mobile youtube site so that he can see the videos in HQ. He was on the crappy ATT 3G network and was able to play a video in HQ without any problems at all. It was downloading about twice as fast as it was playing. I was very surprised. I then tried the exact same video but it just sat there trying to download. It would play for about 2 seconds then stop. It was really bad. I then turned on my wifi, but it did the exact same thing. I restarted the phone, turned on wifi again, did a speed check so I knew that the wifi was working, then tried it again. Still wouldn't download any HQ youtube video faster than it was playing. I'm just really surprised that my overclocked droid (1.25ghz) on the verizon network (or wifi) couldn't come close to keeping up with the Iphone 4 on ATT's crappy network. I kind of feel like something is wrong here so I though I would ask if anyone else is able to play HQ videos on 3G without it stopping. In other words, is it downloading faster than its playing.

Whenever I do, it causes the web browser to automatically open and start playing an annoying "helpful video" from the Verizon site. Does anyone know how to make it stop loading? Obviously I can close it out, but it is really annoying. I have root, so I can access the internal memory and delete the offending file. I just don't know which one to remove.

There's a vast amount of material in MSWord format that I wish to read on my Eris. I can save a file as .txt and put it on my SD card using Astro, etc., but Quickoffice and Tulip are the only readers able to read those files - and both are otherwise inadequate. I've never passed the Caliber IQ test. It seems to convert to epub, but none of those readers ever see the result.
I'm looking for an app that'll help me find my phone via GPS without always having to have GPS enabled. I have Wave Secure and it doesn't have an option to turn my GPS on remotely, Lookout Mobile Security is the same way and Where's My Droid app requires GPS to be previously enabled.
The Internet location ability's accuracy within 200-1000ft radius doesn't seem useful if my phones stolen. I don't think walking from door to door, trying to listen in on each house for my alarm would work out too well.
Any app that could turn my GPS on remotely via codeword text or Internet site would be extremely useful.
So most of us are happy with our Droids, but we all have at least one item that we just wish Google would fix. Lucky for us, Google has a site dedicated to tracking bugs, issues, and feature requests!
So in addition posting questions here, go to Google's issues site and let them know directly! All you need to do is click the link and click the little white star icon. Issues with more stars will theoretically get more attention, so let's let Google know what we want.
I'll keep a running list of direct links in this post for everyone's convenience. If you want me to add more just post it in this thread along with a link to the issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been reading about the Eris battery life issues on this and other forums. Even with all the tweaks that users have applied to it, the Eris continues to have a rep for bad battery life. Its a bit odd that the Eris gets worse battery life than the Moto Droid which has a larger screen and more processing power, don't you think? I've also read that Eris reception is not that great, that the Droid gets 3G reception when the Eris can't etc.
These issues (battery life and reception) lead me to wonder if they are related. Perhaps the Eris has a weak antenna, or bad antenna placement? This would lead it to have worse reception than other smart phones and also worse battery life because it would have to apply more juice to the antenna to reach the cell phone towers. I've attached a poll to see if there is any correlation between bad battery life and bad reception.
Is there a way to show your current speed while using google navigation or google maps? I see a couple of aps in the market that show your speed on the whole screen, but that is it.
