View 3 RepliesI have an audio file in .3gp format on my Android device which I wish to upload to YouTube. I know that YouTube is a video upload site and that I need to convert this sound file to video. I just want an image to display all the time the audio is playing. Google tells me there are number of tools that can help me. But I want to do this via java code from my Android device.

About every Percent the upload stops and says "Retrying Waiting 1 Minute" Any idea why it is doing this? I also have the phone plugged in and while it is plugged in the screen does not turn off.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI came from an HD2, and I used to take videos with it and upload directly to Youtube. Why cant the Vibrant do the same thing? I know it can be done (supposedly) via wifi, but thats stupid that I cant do it over 3g. So anyway, I took a video of my son, and wanted to UL it. Well, I set up my wifi, and it started. After a few seconds, it pauses and says something like waiting for wifi, retrying in 1 minute. then 2 mins, then it sometimes starts, sometimes climbs to 5 minutes. Eventually, it makes its way to 100% completed, but never succeeds. Always tells me "Network error, please try again". I tried literally 20 times last night to no avail.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI tried to upload a video i recorded from a concert and had it set to use wi-fi and it shows the upload status bar for a second or two then says "waiting to retry" and does that everytime.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if this is possible, my phone is telling me it is waiting for a wifi network but there aren't any around me. Are there any settings I can change so I can just use the 3g connection?
View 11 Replies View RelatedSo I recorded some videos yesterday, assuming it would record in 720p by default. However when uploading to YouTube, it would only allow up to 480, not giving the option of 720p playback.
Well today, I noticed different resolutions. Is 1280x720 the 720p resolution? If so, then I may have figured it out myself.
I wanted to give my app is too long for the small icon. However looking at the market, I notice that other people have got around this by giving a longer name to the app that appears on the market list, and a shorter name to the app itself once it is installed.
For example, the is a calculator app called "RealCalc Scientific Calculator" but when you install it it just appears as "Calculator".
How do I go about this? Does the market ask you for an app name when you upload, where you can put anything you like?
Also, what about the actual .apk filename - is that important, and have any bearing on the name that appears when someone downloads the app?
I have made my own app with App inventor but i can't upload it to the market i payed the 25$ so.. did that go to total waste?I found a guide cus i know there is a problem with the icon or something here is the site that i found a guide on : http://www.androidworld.it/forum/app-inventor-91/[how-]-publish-app-created-app-inventor-android-market-4597/Could some one who know how to fix this problem maybe help me or make a Youtube video like How to.so i can see how you do.Please i know there is some way to upload it.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to upload my first application, but when I select the apk file, I get the following message:
The icon for your application is not valid. Please use a 48x48 PNG.
The file was created in Fireworks, and is a 48x48 24 bit image named appicon.png.
Anyone know of any reason why I would still get this message?
I recently had to reinstall my whole phone but didn't save the apps. Now I had alot of apps but they were all mostly free ones so it didn't bother me.Downloading this many though is going way over my internet usage and costing me a fortune (I have fair use policy and its cained)Basically so I dont have to download from the market I thought it be good to try and find the .apk files for each Free app I have and just download them to my PC then paste them onto my phone internal SD then using astro or something install them.Only problem is, I cant find where to get the.Anyone help?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen playing music with the stock Music Player application on my phone and turning the phone screen off or multitasking, the music is still able to play in the background. Is it possible to do the same with the stock YouTube app? I want to let the audio of the YouTube video I am watching to keep playing when I either exit out of the app or when I press the power button on my phone to turn off the screen to save battery. Although I can just set my phone screen to not go off when idle for a certain amount of time, but then again, that is battery consuming.

This is a different problem than the several threads that talk about low volume from the speaker. My normal speaker volume is adequate, except perhaps in a very noisy environment. But this is what is happening: At some point speaker volume will be normal and then later in the day I use an app that has sound, like YouTube or Google Maps navigation. The sound from the speaker is so low that I have to hold the speaker up to my ear to hear it, even in a very quiet room. Much lower volume than it usually is. I push the up volume rocker and it shows that Media Volume is already at the max. It is as if something muted the speaker, but not quite fully muted it because I could hear it by holding it to my ear.
The first time it happened, I had opened the YouTube app and played a video. The speaker volume was so low I had to hold the speaker to my ear. I plugged in some headphones to check whether the volume was normal there. It was. When I removed the headphones from the jack, the speaker volume returned back to normal................

Our Android app loads RSS feeds for news and blog sites and displays the stories in a webview.Whenever a story has a YouTube video, the video doesn't show up and it doesn't play (the object is there, but it's just whitespace & nothing happens when you tap it)Surely, since Google owns both Android and YouTube there's simple way to allow YouTube videos to play in a webview within Android Apps? (They work great in our iPhone app).

View 3 Replies View RelatedPretty pissed off by the youtube app in X10.
Sound is always late by about 0.3s.
Its a real turn off to see the mouth move first, then hear the sound.
Is there any other apps which I can watch youtube in high quality, without facing this sound problem?
Or is there another better apps out there?
I just read an article about the improved youtube mobile site at m.youtube.com. I have used the youtube app since the ota that was sent out to fix it and downloaded an apk that allowed it to always default to HQ rather than having to change it each time. But I just tried out the mobile site and it is blazingly fast compared to the app. The only thing that would make me not use this over the app is that I didn't see a way to watch the videos in HQ. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have a preference for the mobile site over the app or vice versa?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm at home, my WiFi speed is typically almost 3m DOWN and 700k UP. (Lame compared to my speeds at work) While my 3G is typically about HALF of those speeds. But here's where my confusion sets in. When I watch a YouTube video with the stock YouTube app, videos buffer faster and/or play MUCH better when using 3G. I'm wondering if the 3G connection is utilizing some kind of compression that allows this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a softkeyboard code that I am trying to install on my device. I was able to debug and run on my device it using eclipse, it works well as long as the USB cable is connected (of course, once I disconnect it it stops working). I tried adb install as well, that works for a few sample applications I used but not for the softkeyboard (maybe because it is an input method service?). When I try to change the input method it shows me my application name in the list but does not render it on the screen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had problems with HandCent recently. The new version refused to upload from the marketplace and everytime I tried to cancel the upload it 'force closed' on me.
So I uninstalled handcent completely from my phone (HTC Desire, Froyo) and attempted a new upload. Still won't accept it and 'force closes' on me.
When I upload a video from the video gallery, it only lets me upload using wifi. Is there a different app or setting that will allow me to upload using the Sprint Network?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI completed my apk, and about to publish my apk up to the market.
when I load my apk, this stuff just pops up :"Market requires the minSdkVersion to be set in AndroidManifest.xml. The server could not process your apk. Try again."
I'm pretty sure I did set minSDKversion "2" right now I'm stuck...
I noticed the FBook app has an Upload Photo option when you press MENU, but every time I try it says, "Photo upload not authorized. Please authorize the 'fBook' application on this Facebook page (with the word "page" hyperlinked) and then retry the photo upload. OK, no problem. So I click the link and it takes me to the Facebook login page where my email and/or password doesn't work. When I try to do it from my desktop computer and click on settings, then Activate Facebook Mobile, TMobile isn't listed as a carrier. So what do I do? Is it possible to upload photos from within fBook?

I have an application that requires that some images are uploaded to the device and replaced when the image changes.
For example, the first time the application is opened it goes ot the server and downloads some images, then the second time it verifies if there are new images to be downloaded, if there are it downloads them.
What could be the best approach to store the images on the device? creating a file folder for the application and a content provider?
I've just added LVL and server-based licensing into my (as-yet unpublished) app.It appears that the license testing requires that the app exist in the Android Market. Is there a way to "publish" an app to the Market but keep it hidden while I test?
