Aug 18, 2010I am having difficulty transferring music that I bought via the amazon mp3 store from my droid to my computer (a mac) and itunes. I know how to connect/mount my droid to the computer, and have successfully transferred amazon mp3's that I purchased in the past. Just recently, I began experiencing problems. When I try to drag and drop, I get error messages saying that the file cannot be transferred because it is "in use." Or when I attempt to drag and drop to itunes, basically itunes freezes and I have to force quit.

May 30, 2010Ive done some searches and nothing seems to work. Some folks say you need HTC Sync, others the Android SDK.
What happens on my machine is I get two devices in Windows Explorer saying removable disk. However if I click on them, it thinks its a CD or DVD by asking please insert a disk.
I just need to copy a few files over, and for security reasons I don't want to email them to myself.

Oct 14, 2010Audiogalaxy has finally open the floodgates and is allowing sign ups to their cloud streaming service. It's free and for android. You download their app to your phone, as well as the client for your computer, which scans your music collection in the designated folder and allows you to stream it to your phone.So far, it works great! It has some mis-tagging issues (it'll auto-tag on the website, which won't affect your actual files), and playlists are limited to 500 at the moment (which only bugs me because my favorites playlist on my now-dying Zune is well over 500 tracks) but the developers are taking all the feedback and are hard at work. This is the best service of its kind so far, I dare say.

Apr 24, 2010I have no idea where to go to get these (probably routine, simple) questions asked. Thanks for answers/links. I just purchased my phone and I'm really excited. And nervous, is that weird? 1. I have a MacBook Pro w/ my music on itunes, although I didn't buy any of it through them. Is there any issue with connecting my new phone to my computer and getting my music stuff on it? Is it easy or do I need to read about how to do it from somewhere? FWIW, easy to me = drag and drop, or have it automatically transfer.
1a. I am hoping to replace my ipod touch with this device. Realistic? Or silly dream?
2. What should I do to the phone when I first get it? Are there things Verizon includes that I should delete (like when you first buy a computer and it's preloaded w/ a ton of crap)? Are there things I need to immediately get?
2b. I assume those things I need to immediately get are apps. Can I browse them now w/out the phone or can I only do it from the phone? What are the "must haves"? Is there a website that lists the most popular/useful apps?
3. Is there a good tutorial for how to get the most out of Android? Or do I just monkey around and see what I like/dislike?
4. Should I root this thing? Not quire sure what that means, but it seems to be what the cool kids do.
4b. Other than paying for the teething thing from VZW, is rooting the only way to get that ability?
HTC Desire :: Phone Not Detecting Computer - Can't Sync Music
Jul 28, 2010I have an urgent problem with my desire and would appreciate any help. My desire is not detecting my computer when I connect the USB, I connect it and it begins charging instead of asking me about the connection type. As I was puzzled and thought this was very strange, I checked the "connect to PC" settings only to find out the "ask me" option was indeed enabled . When I connect the USB to the computer it begins charging and displays "USB" on battery status, but it does not actually detect the computer, nor does the computer detect the phone (even when I change the default connection type to "disk drive" it continues on charge mode). Has anyone any clue as to what is wrong with my desire? I am very confused because as I said, I select the "ask me" option but it does not "ask me", I really want to fix this as it means I cannot sync music onto it, any ideas?

It is my first Android-based phone, so I am still learning the ropes. My question is this: When I take a video with my Droid, how do I transfer it to my computer? I tried emailing the video, but no attachments went thru. Is there a way to export it via USB, etc.? I know they can be sent straight to youtube if there is wifi available, but I want to send it to the computer for viewing, forwarding, burning to dvd, etc. Any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

Jul 19, 2010Recently got an auxiliary cable for my car to play Pandora through the stereo while on the road. I notice that when i start it up, Pandora immediately starts skipping songs till it runs out of song skips. Then it will start playing normally. Other times the service won't run at all while it's plugged in.
When i don't have the Eris hooked up to the car Pandora works flawlessly, has anyone else experienced this problem?

I clicked the setup file, installed it, then switched my phone to USB Storage. Windows tried installing the drivers and said there was an error. But the computer doesn't recognize the phone at all. It could be a problem with my computer, but I'm checking here in case I just can't find the option on the phone to "allow USB connection" or something.
