Can the Droid be connected to two bluetooth sources at once?
For example:
I am always connected to a parrot handsfree bluetooth car kit when in my car. But I also want to be able to stream music via bluetooth to a separate bluetooth dongle attached to my stereo receiver.

Tried 4 ROMs so far, Skyraider 2.5.2 and 3.0, and Virtuous 2.7 and 3.0. My wifi completely turns itself off about a minute after beginning a phone call while on bluetooth. Can anyone please confirm if your wifi stays on and connected while on a bluetooth call, and if so, what ROM, radio and kernel are you running?

As soon as a contestant clicks his/her button, the quiz master's app will flash the name of that contestant.Is it even possible to have multiple connections and accept concurrent (or multiplexed) messages from them in bluetooth (something similar to select() in unix/c)?If possible, where should I look for any examples? What kind of problems will I face trying to develop this (I know reliability is an issue here) and how to avoid them?

Here's what I'm talking about, I have bluetooth headphones, several speakers and my car that all are connected to my phone and I'm having several small issues.
- As soon as I turn on bluetooth it tries to automatically tries to connect to these certain speakers, I don't want that and don't know how to stop it.
- If I'm in my car, my phone connected to my car for calls and I'm listening to music through the headphone jack but it will automatically connect to a set of bluetooth speakers in my home when get home and pull into the driveway. So music will play through those speakers instead of my headphone jack. I obviously don't want that either.
-Titanium Backup never restores my bluetooth connection either so if there is an application that can save those too that would be useful.
Several threads have indicated that the Droid supports OpenVPN connections, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to configure this. The only VPN option that even looks close is "Add L2TP/IPSec CRT VPN", but I can't figure out how to load the user and CA certificates...hell, I don't even know if this is the correct option for an OpenVPN connection.

Oddly i found it to be very fast and work pretty flawlessly from my droid. My question is during the summer i have a 2nd home which has no option for high speed connections, but does get 3g Verizon. I mostly would use my laptop for reading emails and teaching online classes through my college. Has anyone on Verizon ever had issues using bandwidth through a tethered device as i described? I know there is this on going battle of whether our unlimited plans are truly unlimited or not. I would not use massive loads of data but i do not want to incur problems with my service either. Love to hear your opinions.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm a new droid user and have tried desperately to disable all data connections.I'm without a data plan so I feel very unsafe just going on the net or using the apps I downloaded, afraid that it might accidentally use data connections.I've tried disabling the 2G network, data roaming, background data (what is it anyway) and even going to the key pad, typing *#*#4636#*#* to disable the data connection and data on boot up. I'm left with disabling the APN but don't know how to. And the thing that worries me is that I am unable to go to the Android Market because I will need to enable the background data which I'm afraid that will cause $. And also, I don't know if doing all that will be effective.

Now with Froyo sporting its own Bluetooth voice dialer, does anyone know if there's a way to switch to it? I am running 2.2. My biggest issue with the Motorola bluetooth voice dialer is that'll take up to 30 seconds from the time I press the dial button on my bluetooth device till it'll be ready for me to say a command. Totally unacceptable! Is my only option to go to a custom ROM?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMi problem is that I need to implement Contact List in my application for both android 1.5, 1.6 and 2.x.I did it using the old Contacts API, not ContactsContract because of backwards compatibility with 1.x series. But when displaying my app on 2.x the contact list is not complete. In some devices it's shown as empty, and in some devices it only displays some of the contacts in the device.I know that using Contacts API on 2.x series it will show only main account contacts, but this is not the case. It looks like only recently updated contacts are shown but that's not the case either.So the question is: How to correctly implement contact list for both 2.x and 1.x android version?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFound a few threads about people having problems transferring their phonebook to their hands free kit in their automobile. Had the same problem myself - was able to connect and pair with the car kit. I was able to make and receive calls, but didn't have the phonebook.
Then yesterday, while setting in the car, I was going to re-pair the connection between the phone and car I noticed that in the Notification Bar that the car was asking permission to receive the phonebook from the phone. Opened the Notification and granted permission and clicked on always grant access (or something similar). Phonebook was then transfered. Haven't had a problem with it since...
Why does the phone say PAIRED BUT NOT CONNECTED? How do i connect it to the other phone. To be more specific the other phone is the ERIS. So is it even possible to send songs, pics, etc to other phones from the DROID? And can the ERIS even accept bluetooth file transfers?

1. Plantronics Discovery 975. I've got 2 of these actually one for my PlayStation 3 and one for my Droid. It's the main Bluetooth headset I use these days. Sound quality is excellent. It sticks in your ear with no hoop, is comfortable to wear for long periods of time. It comes with a little leather case with a battery built in so that you can recharge the headset up to 3x when away from AC power. Has a little LCD panel to show you charge of both devices. (Infinitely easier than deciphering how many blinks equals what battery charge!) Best voice. You may see them on this seasons "24" as it's the headphone of choice at CTU
2. Plantronics Discovery 925. Earlier version of the 975. Great for call quality, battery life etc. Comes with same little case. Design is a little different but it gets the job done. No LCD screen on the case. Mainly used with my work Blackberry. Uses MicroSD charger, so you get an extra for your Droid!
3. Aliph Jawbone2. Much smaller than the original. Very tiny and chic. Great sound quality (it uses a little nub to detect vibration in your jaw to know when to isolate outside noise (using it's patented NoiseAssassin) so you could be on a crowded street and still be pretty clear. Only downsides are the battery life isn't amazing and the proprietary charger plus it only comes with a USB. (Becoming less of an issue these days as I'm starting to acquire a ton of AC USB chargers)
4. Plantronics Discovery 520. My original work Bluetooth headset. Does a decent job but is a little bulky. The ear hook makes it a bit uncomfortable to wear for long periods and not quick to get on. Has a proprietary weird shaped charging port. Battery life was average if that.
My 'droid will not connect to my Garmin 785T with the A2DP profile, sound for phone speaker phone works fine tho. Garmin won't do anything, I've already talked to them, are there any adjustments or setting on the droid that I can try to make this work, I'd really like to get Pandora or other audio going thru it.

My Droid is rooted so if their is anything out there that can help me boost the volume that would be great.
Hey everyone. So a couple of weeks ago i took the plunge and rooted and haven't looked back. I wanted to get rid of my ipod for the gym seeing as i carry my phone anyway so i spent a few hours making playlist (i have over 20gb of music to go through) and used isyncr to put them on the droid. Great app by the way. Anyway so i tryed to pair my bluetooth headphones to the droid and it just scanned and never found the headphones. I tried like 20 times and yes i had the phone discoverable. So i had my Lt. at work try it on his android phone and the hooked right up. Is there something that could have happen in the root that messed up my bluetooth. Running sholes 2.0.6. Went to droid mod1 but it was killing my battery so i went back to sholes. Any help would be great.

Basically it will print from various standard PIM applications on the device printing Text and Graphics on Full-Size HP-PCL compatible printers as well Small Format ESC/POS mobile printers.
Can anyone recommend a good, portable bluetooth keyboard to use with Droid? Quite often I do need to be able to send considerably long messages via Droid and to me there's nothing as fast as a real keyboard, where you can use all ten fingers.
