Has anyone had an issue with the Bluetooth on their Droid not turning on?I've tried having applications turn it on and turning it on manually from the settings and still no success.

For the record, I am not rooted. I installed the OTA 2.1 update last week.Before the 2.1 update, I never saw this. But recently, my screen will turn on (it will display the 'lock' screen) all by itself. It's draining the hell out of my battery; I'm down to 80% after 2 hours, just due to the screen turning on while it's in my holster. Not cool at all.I've noticed this only happens at certain times at work. It hasn't happened to me at home yet, and I don't notice it while It's just sitting on my desk at work. I mainly notice it when I take it out before or after I take a break (leaving my desk to go out for a smoke, or whatever). So here's what I think it is.On my work laptop (Ubuntu 9.10), I'm running BlueProximity, which probes a paired Bluetooth device (my Droid, in this case) and locks my laptop if it's not within a certain range. It *seems* (not 100% sure) that when I leave and re-enter the maximum range of my laptop's BT receiver i.e., breaking and then re-establishing the connection -- that the Droid's screen turns on.Again, I'm pretty sure it's the 2.1 update that caused this to start happening. It only started happening within the last week. I suppose it could be an app, but that seems unlikely. Has anyone else seen a problem like this? Anyone have any ideas for resolving? Is there any info I can provide that would be helpful in pinning down the problem?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt says turning on, looks like it's turning on, then it blanks out the checkbox.If I can't turn it on I can't access pairing settings or anything, so there is nothing I can configure that could change this.Anyone else?My phone is still syncing, but that has never affected it before. I am also using P3's 1200LV kernel.

Now... I use Locale for the following:
- Turning the ringer down when I get to work (obviouse one)
- Turning GPS/Bluetooth/wifi on when I plug it in the phone (think car dock)
- Turn on Wifi when I get near my known hot spots.
- Turn off GPS/Bluetooth/wifi off and turn down brightness when my battery is low.
And the last one is a good one for me...
- I have a GV number. When I call my phone from that number, it turns the ringer volume all the way up and it turns on wifi and GPS. This is my "lost phone aid". It turns on the locating features so I can see where the phone is using iGoogle and Latitude, and I can hear the phone if it is "in the cushions" on vibrate.
Anyone else get creative with Locale?
So after rooting my phone. Couple days later i had it charging and decided to turn off my phone and before I knew it. It automatically turn itself back on? Y is that? I am using bb 0.4 p3 kernel 1.0 on blue energy theme.

I've never used the phone without the voyager pro before. It gets worse when I am trying to take down a caller's information using the phone and the screen keeps blinking off. Is there a way to get rid of this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola H375 bluetooth headset which works great with the phone however even if I leave the phone on the table while a call is active on the headset the screen will NOT turn off after 30 seconds like it does outside of a call. If I put the phone up to my ear when on the headset it will because of the proximity sensor but that defeats the purpose of the bluetooth headset.

I did most of the suggestions in the battery fix threads, and I managed to only drop to about 60% battery after 24 hours, even with decent usage. The problem that I discovered today was that I seem to be unable to pair to any Bluetooth devices after turning the radio back on (first time trying to pair). When I turn everything on, I simply can't see anything when I search for devices. I put the earpiece that I'm trying to link to in discovery mode, and the phone never sees it. Neither does it see the printer Bluetooth interface or the PC Bluetooth. The printer, at least, should be always discoverable.Finally, I tried linking to my wife's phone, and it could neither see her phone when I set it to discoverable, nor could her phone see mine when I made it discoverable.It looks to me as if my Bluetooth radio is completely non-functional, but does anyone know if there may be something simple that I'm missing? A hidden setting or a Bluetooth diagnostic test that I could run (loopback or other)? Does anyone know if the Bluetooth module is integrated on the main PCA or is a add-on module that might be disconnected?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe wifi on my phone Samsung Galaxy Chat will not turn on all of a sudden. Same is the issue with Bluetooth.
The wifi button in the drop down screen is kind of greyed out and when settings is opened the [off-on] is greyed out. In wifi settings it just says "turning on...".
All firmware up to date. Phone isnt damaged or dropped. I have restarted the phone many times and also performed factory reset twice and cleared the cache too.

I then download ROM Manager. then I did the flash recovery clock work. i then pressed the "Reboot into Recovery" (to create a back up)...and my phone rebooted and is stuck on a screen which has an exclaimation mark and a phone laying on the ground...how do i get my phone back? i want to root it...and load some customr ROMs...
I just got my phone and it's plugged in but I don't really get if it's just charging or what. Right now it's showing the Droid and Eye logo over and over. Does that mean it's charging?

View 5 Replies View RelatedOn Droid 2, my wifi keeps turning on and of constantly. The only ay to stop it is to turn on airplane mode or reboot the phone. After rebooting wifi works for a little while, but after the phone sleeps for awhile and I wake it, it starts again. I have also found that if I go into wifi settings, hit menu, then hit "Scan" it fixes it, on a temp basis. This happening to anyone else? There a fix?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI go to "Settings" and then "Applications". Once in "Applications", I go to "Running Services" and turn off certain applications I am not using. How long are these applications supposed to stay off: Until I turn my phone back on again? Until I turn my display back on? I am trying to improve my battery life. I have turned off the background data and uninstalled the app killer. My display goes off after 30 seconds and I already have the brightness as low as it goes (I do this on every phone, I see no need to have a crazy bright screen).
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some odd reason, I will miss a call or a text and wonder why I didn't hear the ring. So, I go into the settings and see that the ring setting is turned nearly all the way down, so I crank it back up again. Then, later it is back down again.
What could cause this? Is there some action which will cause it to automatically turn down the volume, not just silence it for a while, but actually adjust the setting down?
How do you turn swype off in text messaging? My sister turned it on hers and she wants it off.I personally use Handscent and the physical keyboard. She uses touch screen only and says she used to have words come up as she was typing and now it wont do that either.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFrom a black screen, sitting on my desk, or bed...the screen would magically turn on. And not always to the lock screen. Sometimes would just turn on and be unlocked (I don't have it password locked, so it would open to the desk top without having to swipe) And if left alone, it will go to dark after 1 minute. It has cycled through this on/off 3 or 4 times, all without me touching the phone at all.If I power it down, it appears to solve this until.I don't know what, but eventually it will go through this routine again.

It wouldn't turn on, so I thought that it was just because my battery died. When I got home the next day, I charged it for a while and then turned it on, but it still wouldn't charge. I'm thinking that it is dead, but the charger is messed up because I didn't see anything on the Droid that was blinking, so I think that means its not charging. Can someone please help me?

If I try to turn the phone on by the power button it does nothing, it's like the phone is dead. If I pull the battery or plug it into a charger it will let me turn it back on.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery once in a while I notice that there is no indication for 3G or 1x, not that I don't have reception, it just isn't turned on for some reason. It will fix itself if I reboot my phone, or turn it to airplane mode and then back to normal. Does anyone else experience this? Honestly it isn't annoying enough to replace my phone, just weird.

This happens on my home AP(as well as at work,) and I know it isn't the AP because my laptops stay connected. If I then disable the WiFi on the Droid, it shows as "turning off" until I reboot the phone. Suggestions? Other than this the phone has been tip-top. Should I wait until 12/11 before I try and exchange it?
View 10 Replies View RelatedThis is weird and took me a while to pinpoint exactly when this happens. When I am done using my phone I usually hit the home button to get to my home screen, regardless of what app or what screen I'm on. Then I press the power button at the top top turn off the screen. Almost everyday with what I thought was no clear pattern, my phone would reboot just after setting it down when I was done using it. I found that when pressing power too quickly after pressing home when the app hasn't fully gone away yet causes the phone to reboot. I have been able to consistently do this today from the gallery, not just at a specific picture but when viewing the list of my phone pictures. Over half a dozen times just now, every time, home then power and it reboots. I uninstalled OpenHome thinking it was related to the custom home app, but even with the default home it is still happening.Gallery is not the main problem, it has happened from other apps, but that one I have been able to most consistenly reproduce it because it takes longer for that to close before getting to the home screen (I only have 52 pictures, so I can't imagine that is the reason). I am about to go to a verizon store and see if I can reproduce it on the phones on display.
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust a neat trick, but not sure how useful it really is.If you want to lock the screen without turning the phone backlight off, you can do so by placing a finger on any of the four "touch-sensitive" buttons and pressing the power key.The screen will stay on, but the device will lock.It's up to you to find a practical purpose for doing so.I just though I'd share the feature (bug?) with you all.

Never have paid attention to it until today when a friend was playing with camera but I noticed that both leds on the flash doesn't come on during picture taking. Also noticed this on camcorder setting also. Its always the top led that doesn't light up. Now I am assuming this isn't normal and something is wrong. Is this a hardware or setting issue or is my flash messed up and need to be fixed. If so is it still under warranty since I have only had it since august?

I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem or knew of any possible ways to fix it.I was thinking it might have been a bug with the app Missed Call, but I've played with all the settings on there and it hasn't changed. Anyway, it says that the phone can tether to one computer [was doing that under 2.1] and also become a hot spot. But when I follow their directions, this is not possible on my phone. Read a little online and some are saying it is possible, while others are saying it is not. What is the answer? Is there an app that I need to have?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've noticed though that when I use it to turn on wifi that my wifi never actually turns on and connects. As soon as I go into the wifi settings and see the list of available connections it finds my router and connects right away. Anybody else having any sort of similar issues? It's a little annoying to have to turn on wifi and then also have to go into the settings menu to get it to connect.
