Motorola Droid :: AOL Mail - Delete Messeges Come Right Back / Stop It?
Nov 12, 2009Anyone else having trouble with AOL Mail. When I get messages and delete them on the phone, the next time a synch is done, they come right back. Also on my storm I had the option to delete the mail only on the handheld or handheld and server. That was great for stuff I needed to address later.

Sluggishness, quirks, disappearing alarms (and being late for work), and now the Certificate problem so I can no longer use Touchdown with the company Server........ have me missing the last version something fierce.
The rules of this forum restrict me from fully conveying my hatred for the recent OTA update to my original Droid. I am fully stock, un-rooted.

This is crazy - Google (and by default Moto) and Verizon should have worked out a clean way to get phones switched over.
Since I keep the same number (as I expect most people do), and since I have not gotten any gCal sms reminders, I went into gCal >settings> mobile> and re-entered my phone number in order to activate the send verification code button, and got this msg Phone notifications disabled.
Anyone have any ideas? There must/should be an easy solution.
Motorola Droid X :: Any Way To Prevent Froyo Update And Reminders?
Sep 14, 2010It may seem crazy, but I have an app that I use for business purposes (ustream). They do not support 2.2. I emailed them and they quickly responded with grim news. Basically, they don't know if/when they will support Froyo. Qik vid doesn't do what I need it to do. Also, I hear there are many other apps that won't work with froyo. As good a an improvement Froyo is, it prevents me from doing what I do. Any way to prevent update and update reminders?

1. What exactly is "freezing" an app? Will it remove the app from the app drawer? Will it just prevent it from running?
2. Can I use Titanium backup to delete apps that are safe for delete like amazon.mp3, etc?
3. If I "freeze" an app like backup assistant will it still be on the phone so that it doesn't brick if I do a reset?
4. Can I delete or freeze things like crap ringtones so they don't show up when I am setting a ringtone?

Jul 2, 2010I am using Gmail. When I receive an e-mail, I get the same e-mail twice one in the HTC mail box and the other in the Google mail box. I have tried to delete the HTC mail but it will not allow me. If I go to manage applications and choose HTC mail, I can choose forced stop which temporarily stops the double e-mail. It will always revert back however to receving e-mails. Is there a way to permanently stop HTC mail or delete it permanently?

May 27, 20102.1 seems to have changed the way reminders are presented. Back on 1.5 if I had a reminder set at 30 minutes it would chirp and place an indicator in the notification curtain where I could dismiss the reminder with one swipe. Now with 2.1 I'm getting repeatedly notified every 5 minutes until the appointment starts and there is no noticeable way to make it stop. I swear I saw a setting for that somewhere but I'll be darned if if I can find it again.

Dec 29, 2009I got the Droid about a month ago and love it. I do have a problem though: My house is in the same town as a non-verizon CDMA tower (US Cellular) and very far away from the nearest Verizon tower. With my other Verizon phones (older handsets), they just connect to the close tower and have full signal all the time without any issues. My Droid, on the other hand, will always try to stay connected to the distant Verizon tower - it can be very difficult and frustrating to make calls with the Droid because there is often no signal and the phone is unable to place a call. I don't need the 3G at home, as the Droid can use my wireless for browsing, etc. How can I get the Droid to stop trying to connect to the distant Verizon tower and connect to the nearby partner tower instead (so that I have high-quality phone signal at home)? I have called Verizon and Motorola and nothing seems to help.

I've made sure hand cent is the default and of course I've disabled the stock message apps. But after I installed the new froyo update I have 2 txt msg stock apps. Messaging and Text Message. Anyone know what .apk to remove to get remove them and where those apks are... and the big thing... how to get the dang double messages to stop. Today I received the auto-update notice on my device, but I don't want to just go ahead with it and lose root access. So I am hoping someone can tell me how I should handle this. I would like to update, but only if I can keep root access as I have overclocked and run a number of other root-only apps. Here is my device info... I'll try to provide as much as I can. I used the instructions listed HERE to root my device, and HERE to overclock. Also, will it be necessary to wipe all my data to perform this update and re-root? And if it turns out that I am not ready to update right now, is there a way to stop the automatic notifications?

Feb 22, 2010I have had my Droid since lauch. The GPS which i use a ton geocaching and with the google maps has been flawless. Now all of a sudden the GPS has stopped being accurate. It always says im half mile to where i am, google maps/navigation doesnt work, and neither does any program i have that uses GPS. Always says the GPS Signal is not there. Tried to boot it up in safe mode (successfully) but it still rebooted. I managed to keep it running long enough to uninstall an app I had loaded today, but still no luck. Constant reboot. Aug 27, 2010Ok so i don't know if this is happening to anyone else, can't find anything even in a google search. Basically my beef win the phone is that if i press space and want a symbol that space away from the previous letter the phone will automatically move the punctuation next to the previous letter. All it does is switch the space and the symbol. This is really annoying if i want to oh let's say "quote" something. Had to type the symbol and backspace to fix and then it doesn't auto correct. Any idea how to fix this? It bugs the crap outta me.

Jun 26, 2010I'm using Bugless Beast v0.2.1. Beautiful Widgets keeps installing to the SD Card, when I reboot my phone the widget doesn't work. And has to be reinstalled. Pushing it back to the phone doesn't work either.
I know it loads correctly from the phone. Stupidly I tried pushing it to the SD Card and now realize why I was having problems with Beautiful Widgets a few days ago when I was flashing new ROMs.
How to stop all apps from downloading to SD period. I do not want a single app taking up space on my SD card.
