Downloading now. Will flash without wiping, but I will install one of the new low voltage kernels.
I'm loving 2.0.2, so hopefully this will be just as good. Good to see HelixLauncher 2.

i flashed simply stunning a couple of days ago and at first my market was fine but recently i have noticed there are only like 5 apps available for download and when i go to my downloads it says i have nothing installed when i have over 50 apps installed. what do i do?

View 10 Replies View RelatedSo I just updated my rooted Droid from SS 4.7 to 4.8 and im starting to have major battery drain. Last night before I went to bed my phone was at 90% and when I woke up it was down to 40% I have no idea what is making my phone do this but it is getting to the point where I have to be constantly charging. I even have the ulowv 0.8 kernel as well, cause I thought that would get me the best battery life but it hasnt at all. I have the CPU set at max 800 and min 125. Does anyone know a fix for this?
Battery use it says was:
47% Android OS
18% Display
9% Android system
7% phone idle
7% Cell standby
4% Browser
2% Dialer
2% Launcher
2% Keyboard
Been playing with Chevy's 2.02 ESE53 2.1 based rom and I am quite impressed. There was about an hour of false starts when he originally posted but it turned out that his server was not properly updating his newer file (drove poor Chevy up a wall). It is running fast right out of the box (141ms), cool (averaging about 82F) and his smoked glass blue theme is very pleasing on the eyes. As usual, I did a Nandroid restore and wiped everything first. This will deffinetly be a keeper (at least for the next hour until something newer comes along ). This one is worth checking out fellow flash addicts...

Blue ese53 theme - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum (Blueese53 theme based on Chevy's ROM) which adds a little more eye candy.
Those who have tried both (2.1 roms) can you comment on the differences? I've always run Pete's (using his new 2.1 ERE25 now) but my buddy recently went over to SS and says his battery life is A LOT better.
I haven't heard much discussion on the major differences in these two Roms (besides the authors).
Any comments would be welcomed.
I just recently downloaded and installed Chevy's Simply Stunning (4.2) ROM, and I'm finding that some of my shortcuts (places in folders) are disappearing upon powering off my phone.
I have two folders ("Text" and "Call") on my home screen that simply contain direct call and direct message shortcuts to some of my contacts. Ever since updating to Simply Stunning 4.2, I've had issues. I'm not entirely sure that's what caused it... anyone had this problem before?
Is there a known problem with syncing facebook on this rom? or am i missing something haha. I go to: settings, accounts and sync, add account, clikc facebook then it just reverts back a page.

I understand that it is an update designed specifically for the Droid, but apart from having a Droid specific baseband (which can be flashed separately) is there actually any reason to base ROMs on ESE81 instead of ESE53 or ERE25?

Petes 2.1 V0.5 and maybe another, SO which one is better or running smoother.. I have not OC'ed my droid yet so what happens if I install one and it is just boot loops, how will I fix that?
So I know that there are a ton of roms out there and seems like more and more keep popping up everyday. Yesterday, I ran across this at AllDroid and I wasn't going to try it cause I thought the screenshots looked ugly...still do actually. You really have to put this on your phone to see how nice it looks.
Looks aside, this is a very fluid rom and the performance has been great for me (about 24 hours with it so far). WiFi Tethering is broken but like the title says, it's still a Beta. I was just so impressed with it that I had to check out what everyone was saying over here...and didn't see it posted...so here it is!
[ROM] Elegance v0.5 (2.1 ese53) -- Themed w/ JIT+SU+Wireless Tether+Motoroi Apps. Here is my main homescreen and lockscreen. Looks much better without the horrible, "un-elegant" looking clock they show in the screenshots over all AllDroid.
I saw a post recently, can't remember where any more, that said that ERE53 ROMs come by default w/the necessary versions of the files, and all that you needed to do was add the dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:jit line to build.prop and you had JIT enabled.
Is anyone sure whether this is correct or not?
So I've been reading around trying to figure out the whole ESE53 thing before I try it. The post on alldroid linked in the sticky says that it will wipe my phone and unroot it. A couple of questions arise from that. What exactly is wiped? And is the re-rooting process the same? Can I use DMupdater to root it again?

I hate manually typing in letter by letter when using the phone in normal position. Use to be able to fly through text and not have to go horizontal to type. Anyway, any idea when Swype for 2.1 is coming out?

helix launcher 2 now works on android 2.1. Do not buy clockworkmod launcher. The link is Donators' Repo Home.
Step 1:EDIT EDIT EDIT Click the download link and rename .php to .apk.
Step 2 Download the beta on your phone.
Step 3: Go into astro and find the download in your downloads file. Step 4: install and whalah.
It wont let you install it directly from the downloads page for some reason. Dont set as default your first time incase of FC loop.
I have helix launcher(the first one) and I wanted to get 5 screens instead of three so I went to configure it and took off all my widgets like it told me to do. It restarted and I got a FC notification. It's set as my primary home and I can't get the message to stop popping up. I tried restrting my phone several times but before I can press the home button or any button the message pops up again and there is nothing I can do. Is there anything I can do to get past this FC notification?

Got that, and I also like the extra buttons across the bottom, very nice. the phone is laggy when I use Helix. I can switch back to the standard Launcher, and no lag, so it is helix. Is there some settings I can play with to help with the lag? is there another launcher I can try that has 5 screens (or more) and less lag?
View 16 Replies View RelatedI've seen an issue now on both Chevy's and Pete's ESE53 ROMs.
I play a video using the youtube player, and the video locks up, touchscreen and phone buttons non-responsive, and then the phone reboots.
I did a full wipe/reset and installed all apps from the market when I installed Pete's ROM, so it's not due to a messy setup...
Doesn't happen every time, but very frequently. Last night I played some or all of three videos, no issue. This morning tried one and my phone locked up/rebooted within the first five seconds of the video.
HelixLauncher2 in the market says it requires 2.1-update1 that is on the N1. Does HL2 work on the Droid now? Does version 1 work on the updated Droid?I really, really need more than 3 home screens, and want to try Helix to get them.

I want to know how to use the advanced shortcut option in HelixLauncher2. Basically I would like to have the generic phone icon on my dock but instead of taking me to the Dialer I would like it to take me to my Call Log. I would also like to use the standard Contacts icon on my dock but would like it to always take me to my Favorites Contacts instead of All Contacts. Does anyone know how to set this up in the Advanced Shortcuts in HelixLauncher or know a different way to do it? Also if anyone knows if there is an easy way to use a different Icon for each of those?

However, now when I press the "Home" button, only the default launcher takes over. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing both but nothing changed. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how I might be able to get it so that I can switch launchers again?

Is there anyway to get the wallpapers?I tried extracting the .apk with root explorer but I can't seem to find where the little buggers are...
View 2 Replies View RelatedHave been testing kernels the past few days, have a few thoughts:I've tried the Slayher v1.6 kernel, ChevyNo1's ULV, jdflg's, and p3droid's, all 1200mhz. With all kernels set to "on demand", I can't say for sure if any one gives more battery life than any other, my usage is too variable. P3Droid's are 125mhz base clock, while the others are 250 or 300mhz, but there wasn't an obvious difference with my use. I'm guessing at low clocks, processor drain is negligible unless you're going to be in a semi-sleep state for a long time. All kernels bench about the same, and P3Droid's don't feel any slower even with the lower base clock, which suggests to me that most kernel makers should consider including a sub-200mhz option. Kernels with "interactive governor" subjectively feel slightly faster when using interactive governor, but battery life is definitely a little shorter. All kernels seem equally stable. All kernels seem to run about the same temperature, with maybe a very slight edge to Chevy's ULV kernel (~2c loaded). Temperature monitoring is not very accurate. I turned on my phone earlier in class, to see a 13c CPU temp. That's about 8-10c below ambient. This is consistent on all kernels I have tried.
