Motorola Droid :: SmokedGlass But With ScrollBars
May 3, 2010SmokedGlass is probably my favorite theme out there, but it drives me nuts not having the scroll bars in any of the windows. Is there any way to turn them back on?

View 2 RepliesSo im running SmokedGlass 4.5 and i've been having some problems that i was wondering if anyone has had or knows a fix for etc...So im overclocking and it seems kind of stable at 800 but as soon as i bump it up to 1000 i have some problems with force close and it seems kinda buggy. anyone else have this problem or knwo anything about it? it also will glitch out like crazy sometimes if im just on the homescreen where the notification bar will just bug out and start going up and down and the lancher will open and i will scroll thru and it will just go up and down and select random apps.
View 17 Replies View RelatedMy app uses a TabHost containing one tab with a ListView and another tab with a simple form. When the keyboard is slid out in order to write into the form fields, I don't get automagic scroll bars added to the LinearLayout around my form elements.
The resource xml follows.

I have a standard ListView. It's not displaying the scrollbar track thumb though. Is there some special setting you need to set in order to show the scrollbars? My definition looks like this:
CODE:............
The listview has data, and it has enough items to scroll.
I have a Dialog implemented with scrollview and a multiline edittext item in the scrollview. I see that I can use the scrollbar in the edittext as the scrollview will take over it. Can they co-exist and work together?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am working on adding vertical and horizontal scrollbars in a custom drawn View. I have overridden the compute*ScrollOffset, compute*ScrollRange, etc methods and have enabled the scrollbars by called set*ScrollBarEnabled. However, I do not see the scrollbars in my View, even after a call to scrollBy, which according to the documentation calls awakenScrollbars (I assumed awakenScrollbars is not required as the scrollbars do not auto-fade - isScrollbarFadingEnabled returns false).
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn the new official Twitter app, the scrollbars in all the ListViews the app uses are hidden unless the user is scrolling through the list.
When you start scrolling, the scrollbars appear. When you stop, they fade out with an animation until they are gone completely.
I can't seem to find anything in the documentation that indicates this as being a standard feature.
Is this something included in the API? If not, anyone know how this might be done?
Having a problem in Eclipse with regards to an XML file. Eclipse complains that android:scrollbars and android:fadingEdge do not allow Strings. I checked the Android developer site and they do in fact accept strings in the xml file. A related question posed had the problem where there was a missing :android after xmlns. As you can see from the code the line beginning with xmlns is correct I believe. Here is the complete file contents:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<com.example.todolist.TodoListItemView
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
android:padding="10dp"
android:scrollbars="verticle"
android:textColor="@color/notepad_text"
android:fadingEdge="verticle"
I need to set the TextView maximum height (either using maxHeight or maxLines). And if there are more lines of text the scrollbars should be shown. What markup should I use for this? Initial idea was to wrap TextView with ScrollView, but ScrollView has no maxHeight attribute.

The main points that I like to enjoy is: Droid beat out the phone that beat the iPhone, and the Droid got further in the brackets than any other Android OS phone Some of the progress is due to hardware, some due to following (over the Nexus'), but a lot due to the v2.01 (and now 2.1) version of the Android OS. Also, this poll is open ALL weekend - it does not close until April 5th, so we have tons of time...but then again, so does the Palm Pre. Let's have at 'em!

I don't care that it is kind of blocky as long as it has Android 2.0 or higher (including Google Maps Navigation). Seriously, the keyboard on it kicks the (edited by mod) out of the Droid. The keyboard on the Droid has been causing me serious grief because I do not like typing on the virtual keyboards and the physical keyboard is so flat and requires so much pressure to press one of the keys that it cramps my thumb up with any moderate usage. Has anyone heard anything at all about a release date?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been messing around with my phone for quite sometime and I've reached a road block that I can't quite figure out. I've previously and successfully put JRummy, Cyanogen and Bugless Beast on my phone, but suddenly out of nowhere, NOTHING works. I'm attempting to put a custom ROM on my phone and I've had little to no success. These are the steps I've taken:
Start at stock 2.1
Apply ESE81_SPRecovery with RSD Lite 4.6 (Proper drivers installed)
Phone boots successfully and I can boot into SPR successfully
Move custom ROM onto SD card named as "update.zip" (not update.zip.zip)
Reboot into recovery
Wipe data & cache 3x
Go to Install and Allow update.zip
Install update.zip (UD7 specifically -- not a corrupted download as I've downloaded several times from different locations. I've also tried several different ROMs)
Install is successful
Reboot and I get stuck at the Motorola M
I wait 10 - 20 minutes and no boot screen
Pull battery, wipe data & cache again, reboot
Same issue with Motorola M
I've tried literally everything and Cyanogen, Liquid, Bugless Beast, UD7, and numerous other custom ROMs all have this same issue. I've tried wiping my SD card completely clean.I had momentary success when I flashed back to stock 2.0.1 sbf with RSD Lite, installed SPR, then applied Liquid custom ROM but I felt daring and tried to do the same process but with UD7 and it won't load. Since then, nothing has worked.I've tried this same process on two different computers with different versions of RSD Lite (4.6 and 4.7), different sbf files, different ROMs and tried using SPR and Clockwork (With ROM Manager Premium and different versions of Clockwork). However, none of this has worked. When these processes don't end up working I have to reflash the stock 2.1 sbf with RSD Lite because restore won't work either.
From BGR after the Motorola Press Conference at CES..All Motorola Android handsets, including the CLIQ, will be updated to Android 2.1.Motorola is working on Flash 10.1 integration, is optimized for the DROID's chipset and will be pushed out the DROID at some time in the future.Motorola DROID will receive a second maintenance update in the near future..Motorola kept is short and sweet so that is all folks!
Heres hoping for sooner rather than later. Only thing that concerns me about soon is the fact that the last statement just says maintenance update in the near future. So im kinda thinking 2.1 wont be with it on the 22nd.
I'm upgrading from my Droid 1 to the Droid X tomorrow and would like to start my use of the DX with it's new 32gb card in place of my old 16gb card from my Droid 1 but need to know if there's anything required to copy from my droid 1 16gb card to my new DX 32 gb card that would be required or helpful in the DX use.I will obviously transfer music/vids/pics but are there any essential files, apps, etc. that are needed.Or is it a good idea to use my paid MyBackupPro to copy the old Droid 1 apps/data for use in the DX larger memory card or is this not copatible to perform between the 2 devices?

Tasker does not seem to function unless I use the motorola control panel and turn on bluetooth, wifi, and gps. If I shut these off via the control panel then tasker does not turn them on at the appointed times and events.Which begs the question, is tasker REALLY turning them off? or are the icons just going away in the notification bar (because they still show as on in the control panel widget)Has anyone else noticed this issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a non-rooted Droid 2 and the Desk/Home dock. When I first tried it out, it worked as expected-starting the home dock screen when placed in the dock. However, I now find that whenever I dock the droid, the notification bar shows that it is connected to the multimedia dock but it does not start the dock application. I used Astro to browse the /system/apps folder and found the Dock app- clicked on Open App manager and then Launch at which point I get a message saying "Activity not found com.motorola.dlauncher". I don't know if this is why nothing is happening when I dock the Droid but can anyone tell me why this suddenly stopped working and what I can do to get it working again?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is to change the motorola logo that you see when you boot your phone to a custom image. This is separate from the boot animation seen afterwards.Tools/files you will need:
1) RSD Lite
2) droid sbf
3) SBFCodec
4) Photoshop (or paint, or whatever drawing program)
5) Hex editor (frhed is free and very easy to use)
NOTE: I do not use sbf-recall because it complains about needing version 1.3, so I use SBFCodec instead.Steps:
1) Run SBFCodec and open up the sbf file. This will extract all the smg files and header files.
2) Using photoshop, create an image that is 480 pixels wide and 182 pixels tall. Each color should be assigned 8 bits (1 byte), or in paint, just make a 24 bit bmp file. Mirror the image, making the left become the right, and the right becoming the left. Save as a bmp file (photoshop method).
3) Using a hex editor, open up your image and erase the first 54 bytes of data. (and possibly the last 2 bytes of data if you used photoshop. the number of bytes remaining should be exactly 262,080) With the remaining data, reverse the bytes. (using frhed, the option is in the edit menu->Reverse bytes)
4) Using a hex editor, open up the CG42.smg file created in step 1 and erase all data except the last 64 bytes of data (these 64 bytes of data should be FF's in the file). Then paste in the remaining data from step 3 to the beginning of the file and save. Your final file should be exactly 262,144 bytes large.
5) Go back to the SBFCodec window and save (this creates the sbf) the sbf file and name it whatever you want. i.e. boot.sbf
6) Using RSD Lite, flash this sbf to your phone. It may take 5-10 minutes for the flashing to complete. (after the 10 minutes, it might say "failed", just click on the show device button once that happens and you'll have succeeded)You now have a stock phone with a custom boot image. Go ahead and root your phone and stuff. Sorry for the difficult instructions, this was the only approach I could think of to edit the boot logo.
I swear I tried this at some point and it worked, but I checked with Motorola about whether or not the GPS receiver will work when the phone is in airplane mode. They say it doesn't.Can anyone confirm whether or not the GPS (not aGPS, just good old fashioned, slow to download datum and get a fix GPS) works when in airplane mode?I'm traveling overseas to Japan, and only want to use wifi and GPS, so I thought I'd just leave the phone in airplane mode the whole time, but I'm really going to need GPS working (I'm using Maverick Pro for offline maps). I'd go out and try it, but it's snowing and crappy, and I don't want to sit outside that long

Or do they glow with pride, knowing that they have developed something that struck a creative chord with so many people and that their product is something we just can't get enough of?
