Motorola Droid :: Putting Music

Sep 3, 2010

I made a folder as follows: Media>>Audio>>Music>>(Music files here)

NOW that I did this, its loading all these midi, and mp3 files from games and apps that I have on my SD card, but not necessarily in my Music folder. Some aren't even easy to find, and require that you navigate like 5 folders just to find em.

HTC Eris :: Putting Music On Device Via USB

I recently got a Droid Eris and I'm trying to figure out how to put music on it from my laptop via USB connection. I've unmounted and remounted the SD card, but I still get no window or anything popping up on the laptop. The only indication of the device being on the computer is the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon at the bottom status bar.

HTC EVO 4G :: Putting Music / Photos On Upgrading MicroSD Card?

Jun 14, 2010

I bought a 16gb Class 6 card to replace the 8gb card that came with the EVO. I put some music/photos from my PC onto the new card and stuck it in the EVO. Everything seemed to go ok, but when I went to use the camera, it showed a black screen with what i think was a pic of an SD card for about a second then just closed the camera app and went to the home screen. Was I supposed to copy anything from the old card to the new one or do anything else before I switched? I just put the stock 8gb card back in the EVO for now until I figure out what I'm supposed to do.

HTC Desire :: Music In AAC Format

I am putting some tunes on there, and notice a lot of my music is in AAC format. It plays just fine, but is MP3 better? When I rip a CD to my computer (old Dell notebook w/ Windows Media or an old iTunes program), I can't figure out a way to convert to MP3s.

HTC Incredible :: Best Format For Music

Apr 25, 2010

I have read a bunch a threads and topics regarding music and Android this for the past several days and haven't exactly seen this answered. My music collection is in ITunes on my computer. I don't know much about the different music formats etc, and when I ripped them all my CD's they are in MP4 format. I do know that what little music I bought from ITunes isn't in the format that doesn't let me play it anywhere else. Most of my music was just ripped from my CDs. I know the Incredible will play the MP4's, so is it OK to leave them that way? I realize they will take up more space, but I'm not sure if I should convert them to MP3's. Also, with them being MP4's, can I still utilize the ringtone apps, or are those for use only with MP3's?

Android :: Format And Tools For Music In Games?

Apr 19, 2010

I've been looking around for tools for working with MIDI to create soundfonts, but the one mentioned in the Android JET docs (Awave) is a bit pricey for me. Tried Vienna Soundfont Studio but it quickly told me that I have "no soundfont compatible device" on my laptop. Since I'm coming from a GBA/DS homebrew background, my current solution is using the tracker formats (MOD,XM,IT, etc.) and building libmodplug with the NDK. It allows me to bring the size of the 12 music files in my game down from about 15MB (ogg) to 750KB (mod,xm + size). Anyway, just wondering how other game developers are handling music and what tools you're using. You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.

Motorola Droid :: Video Recording Format

Aug 12, 2010

I have not taken a lot of video with my Droid (I have Flip for that), and what I do take, I just watch on the phone. But, I may eventually want to play this on my computer or on my TV using a streaming media device. My current device plays a LOT of formats, but I have not tried any of my Droid videos. What format does the Droid capture video in? Is it the 3gp I have heard about? If so, I think that is one format I can't play where I want it. I heard that my wife's Incredible actually records in mp4, but then converts to 3gp, but there is something you can install which prevents that conversion and keeps it in mp4. Is there something like that for the Droid?
