View 11 RepliesI made a folder as follows: Media>>Audio>>Music>>(Music files here)
NOW that I did this, its loading all these midi, and mp3 files from games and apps that I have on my SD card, but not necessarily in my Music folder. Some aren't even easy to find, and require that you navigate like 5 folders just to find em.
What does it take to play .wma files on a Droid X? (Android 2.1 update1)
The pre-loaded music player lists the file, but tells me "Sorry. The player does not support this type of music file."
I tried putting a lot of music on my Droid (>5k worth of tracks).
I can browse the music my album, artist, and track just fine.
But I cannot search.
When I try to search the Music app just hangs.
I recently got a Droid Eris and I'm trying to figure out how to put music on it from my laptop via USB connection. I've unmounted and remounted the SD card, but I still get no window or anything popping up on the laptop. The only indication of the device being on the computer is the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon at the bottom status bar.

Everything seemed to go ok, but when I went to use the camera, it showed a black screen with what i think was a pic of an SD card for about a second then just closed the camera app and went to the home screen. Was I supposed to copy anything from the old card to the new one or do anything else before I switched? I just put the stock 8gb card back in the EVO for now until I figure out what I'm supposed to do.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am putting some tunes on there, and notice a lot of my music is in AAC format. It plays just fine, but is MP3 better? When I rip a CD to my computer (old Dell notebook w/ Windows Media or an old iTunes program), I can't figure out a way to convert to MP3s.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have read a bunch a threads and topics regarding music and Android this for the past several days and haven't exactly seen this answered. My music collection is in ITunes on my computer. I don't know much about the different music formats etc, and when I ripped them all my CD's they are in MP4 format. I do know that what little music I bought from ITunes isn't in the format that doesn't let me play it anywhere else. Most of my music was just ripped from my CDs. I know the Incredible will play the MP4's, so is it OK to leave them that way? I realize they will take up more space, but I'm not sure if I should convert them to MP3's. Also, with them being MP4's, can I still utilize the ringtone apps, or are those for use only with MP3's?
View 49 Replies View RelatedI've been looking around for tools for working with MIDI to create soundfonts, but the one mentioned in the Android JET docs (Awave) is a bit pricey for me. Tried Vienna Soundfont Studio but it quickly told me that I have "no soundfont compatible device" on my laptop. Since I'm coming from a GBA/DS homebrew background, my current solution is using the tracker formats (MOD,XM,IT, etc.) and building libmodplug with the NDK. It allows me to bring the size of the 12 music files in my game down from about 15MB (ogg) to 750KB (mod,xm + libmodplug.so size). Anyway, just wondering how other game developers are handling music and what tools you're using. You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.

Should i take off all my pics and music and use the evo phone settings to format the SD card? Does it matter at all if I do or dont?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to load up my phone with some movies.I'm using handbreak to convert the mondo HD sized movies using the settings I normally use for my Ipod Touch. When I transfer it to the SD and try to watch via the Files button in Froyo it says it can't play the video. Is there an app i can use to watch the video or do I need to be converting it differently? I believe it is in MP4 format now and I think my only other option is mkv.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have not taken a lot of video with my Droid (I have Flip for that), and what I do take, I just watch on the phone. But, I may eventually want to play this on my computer or on my TV using a streaming media device. My current device plays a LOT of formats, but I have not tried any of my Droid videos. What format does the Droid capture video in? Is it the 3gp I have heard about? If so, I think that is one format I can't play where I want it. I heard that my wife's Incredible actually records in mp4, but then converts to 3gp, but there is something you can install which prevents that conversion and keeps it in mp4. Is there something like that for the Droid?
The Droid can only play MPEG-4s right? If not what's the best format to rip movies to? I tried MPEG4 720X480 and the phone never even saw it on the SD card. Unless I'm doing it wrong (like music, I just created a folder called videos) A certain Tarantino film just leaked and I really wanna watch it during my commute.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI downloaded Aldiko and I'd like to purchase some books for it. I've seen some sites that sell in the epub format but they are a bit on the expensive side. I like the prices that Amazon and Barnes & Noble offer for their ebooks but I think they are in a proprietary format. I guess my question is, where is a good place to purchase epub books at a reasonable price?
View 11 Replies View RelatedThe only video I have is anime in HD from torrents. All recent and current anime is encoded in HD Format H.264 under .MKV. I have tryed converting these files to .avi or .mp4 but they always lose the subtitles in the process. Any one knowledgeable enough to provide some input please. Also what is a good *free* video converter and what would be the desired resolution and audio qualities I should be converting to?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI did a search and when you type in .PDF the search doesn't find anything. I'm sure its because of it being a short word.
I have a .PDF I would like to put possibly on one of my home screens as a shortcut. I plugged my Cliq into my computer and put the document in the memory card, but can't navigate to it through the phone. The only way I can find this file is if I open up Beamreader.
