View 14 RepliesWhy can't i get any notifications from facebook? I have it set so the notification refreshes every 30 mins, but that doesn't work either.. someone commented on my wall and even after 2 hours, i didn't get any notification. is this just how the facebook application is? if it is, are there any other (better) facebook app for droid?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've looked for an answer to this question but couldn't find one anywhere. I have the Facebook app installed on my Droid and have the settings set to send me notifications for all possible things, but the app itself seems to refuse to update on its own or send me any notifications what-so-ever. Is there anyway to get it to actually refresh on its own and notify me?

I cannot seem to get any notifications for facebook what so ever. I set up the "Social Networking" app that came on the X out of the box, and that integrated all my FB friends into my contacts which sucks, but anyway, then I downloaded the facebook app for android. I set up all the settings for notifications, and sounds and all that.
But no matter what, I cannot get a facebook notification like I did on my blackberry. Ill get yahoo emails saying so and so commented on your photo, or what not. But nothing else from FB instant. I have to manually go into my facebook app, go to notifications, hit the menu button and select refresh. Last night for some reason I got the little F in the top left notification bar that someone invited me to join an event. But I cant seem to get anything to mimic it again. I've checked HOFO and they suggested I check here.
My son got ahold of my Droid the other day and logged onto his Facebook account via the widget (which was not on display, he found it ) I do NOT want to get his notifications please! Can't figure out how to stop that.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm sure this can be done but I'm not finding it. Coming from BB World, I would like to be able to get audible notifications of Facebook wall postings, etc. I know the only way to get this is by an email which I'm fine with. But is there any way to get a "sms" type of notification for just that email? I set the email up as a contact and I see where you can add a ringtone but I really don't want a ringtone, just a small "sms" tone, if you will.

View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to turn off the notifications from Facebook? Also is this using up my battery?
View 12 Replies View RelatedOn 1.5 I used to get notifications all the time when someone uploaded new photos to flicker or changed their facebook account. Now I'm using the 2.1 leak v2 and I don't get any updates at all. What gives? I liked that feature. Any way to turn it back on?
And I do have the option set to update every 2 hours in the settings.
I've got a lot of contacts that are synced with their Facebook profiles and I really like the integration with the phone, especially in the 'People' app.
But I'm confused about how the notifications work. I get periodic notifications about updates from certain people, but when I click this notification it takes me to the People app's group tab, but none of the people who were in the notification show up here as having updates. It's usually just different peoples' birthdays or updates.
I tried refreshing the list here, but it still doesn't pull up any new people usually.
Can I clear my Facebook notifications in people? I've had my phone for about 4 days, I synced my contact card in people to my Facebook account right away, ever since it's said I have a 157 wall posts. It shows up under the updates and events tab in people. I've tried scrolling through all the notifications, but they won't clear.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using Bloo for facebook and am constantly getting notifications for the same notifications. I've cleared them out, looked at them on Bloo, but still my friendly notification bing is popping up every few minutes. Is anyone else having problems with this?
Also add me to the 'my youtube doesn't work after the update' list. I called verizon to tell them about it yesterday and my tech had never heard of the problem before.
Aside from those issues I'm loving the phone. My husband has the droid, and while I am envious of his screen size, I prefer the feel of my eris.
I just got a new Droid Maxx. I downloaded the Facebook app, but the problem is that it places all of my Facebook direct messages (emails, not "likes" or comments) on the main pulldown screen (the one where you swipe from the top when the phone is open).
I don't want this. I'm not a huge Facebook user, and I only want to see that stuff when I directly log into Facebook. I tried unchecking the box in Settings > Active Notifications, but these notifications are still appearing. With the iPhone, it was easy to simply turn off push notifications, but I can't seem to find this on the Droid Maxx.
Is there a setting I'm missing that controls the content that appears on the pulldown menu? How can I stop this from happening?
I'm sure this isn't news to any of you veterans, but this is my first android device so please bare with me. I'm using the facebook app and have noticed that neither the app itself or the widget show the actual facebook live feed or provide a way to access it....
Of course my next thought was "well what if I just use the facebook page in a browser window". Turns out that's not as simple as I thought! Apparently facebook not only has a mobile page, it also has a "touch" page that it likes to route you to. Neither the mobile or the touch facebook pages have a way to access the live feed either....
I removed my facebook account because I didn't wane all of my friends in my contacts, but a few of them are still in my contacts and I can't delete them!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought the Cliq for my wife, and it seems as though MotoBLUR doesn't send facebook notifications such as image tagging and whatnot to the phone. She only gets status updates on the main screen. Short of signing up for facebook SMS messages on their site, is there a way to get MotoBLUR to give notifications for everything in facebook? My BlackBerry(s) have always done this with the facebook application, and it's a nice feature.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble figuring something out about the calendar on the Droid, and notifications. If I set a meeting for 10:30 and have NO notifications, when 10:30 comes nothing happens. No alarm or anything. If I set a meeting for 10:30 and set a 5-minute notification, it rings at 10:25 and I hit "snooze," but at 10:30 nothing happens and the alarm never rings again, even though I haven't dismissed it.
If I set a meeting for 10:30 and set a 10-minute notification, it rings at 10:20 and I hit "snooze," and it rings again at 10:25, and I hit "snooze" again, but when 10:30 comes nothing happens and no alarm ever rings again. What am I missing here? What am I doing wrong? Why isn't there an alarm for the actual time of the meeting (10:30), and why don't the alarms continue to sound until they're dismissed?
How can i make it so i view my facebook notifications in my facebook app? I dont want to keep going in-between the facebook app and my browser to check every single one.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIm have trouble merging my facebook contacts and my phone contacts. I have changed the names so that they correspond with each other but for some reason they still appear on my list as two separate contacts. How do i merge them?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHas anyone found a way to take someone's facebook photo and add it to the Droid contact list? When I open my contacts, most of them have photos, which have been pulled from FaceBook, but 3rd party apps, such as Handcent SMS, only pull the images I have set for my contacts.Has anyone found a workaround to this issue?

How can I get MMS and SMS separate?
I'm getting texts and that's it. Gmail isn't working with new emails also not getting facebook. Went home last night and to my surprise when i checked via my computer i had a few emails and facebook messages that never came through on my phone. I tried a test email again this morning and again nothing. Im using launcher pro plus not rooted and on 2.1. Could this be the same reason my facebook and twitter apps aren't refreshing automatically?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Bugles Beast V.04 with the Bugles evolution theme on my Droid and just about every day or every other day I get the OTA updates to get 2.2/Adobe. I downloaded the patch that Pete Alfonso posted on his website and have flashed it 2 times now and I am still getting the OTA update notifications, anyone have any suggestions on how to make this stop?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with sms notifications. I'm running the custom rom listed below. previously i had "missed call" which had been giving me duplicate sms notifications (with local notifications off), i then uninstalled that along with the sms, mms apps which I replaced with handcent, which also has custom led notifications for sms.
Now I have two things going on, one- there is a little sms icon, just like the one from missed call, sans the red # mark, that always stays in notification area, and when i pull down not. menu it reads 0 sms. So, why is it there? Is it part of Handcent? Handcent uses the icon I picked from it's menu, which is different than what's in the not. bar.
two- still getting 2 sms not. ringtones, first one is default, i think, second one is one I selected, just one new notification though, which is the one I picked.
Now, I still have a ringtone under main settings>notification ringtones, which I assumed I would need for emails, but may hap that is cause of dual ringtones for sms messages, as I have one selected in handcent. ok just got a brainstorm, disable not. ringtone in handcent, but leave custom led, then leave ringtone in settings menu, which should alert for both. I would like to have different ringtones though, for text and email, but missed call was giving me issues, like dual notifications, not audible, but in bar, one i would always have to clear which became annoying. Also, I really like the custom led's, but when there is more than one alert, it just defaults to green, instead of displaying one color, then another.
side question- is there a way, or an app, to make separate ringtones for sms and email? yeah, missed call, i know about that one already, if someone was able to troubleshoot similar prob (dual notifications, with droid one OFF), then I would gladly listen, I used it fine before, maybe it has something to do with the rom I'm using, everything else works perfect with it though.
Anyone figure out how to get the droid to vibrate on notifications?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got a new Droid a few days ago because I was sick of my Blackberry. I set up my Yahoo email account, but I haven't been getting any notifications. I rebooted it and got a notification a few minutes later, but out of the 10 or so emails I've gotten in that account over the past two days, that's the only notification I've gotten even though I got several emails other than that one after I rebooted. I have it set to check every 30 minutes but half the time when I go to the account, I have to refresh before I see any new emails, even ones that came hours before. I also have it set to show notifications in the status bar and vibrate when notified. What can I do other than rebooting again to get email notifications? Should I look for a Yahoo app rather than using the stock email app? Should I just try to forward it all to my gmail account so it will actually work? I'm completely new to Android, and coming from a Blackberry, this email issue is really bugging me.
