I am not rooted. I got Better Cut and started changing all my icons but for some reason I cannot change my Handcent Icon. It is the only icon that I cant change...wondering why?

That said, I'd like to continue to use the Messaging icon, AND the wording Messaging for the icon. Can these be changed? Rename the shortcut, and change the icon of the shortcut?

I downloaded Handcent SMS. Which I LOVE btw. It makes messaging so much better. However, I want to either change the Icon, or the Text below it. It's smaller and stick out like a sore thumb. And shit the icon down, it's a bit too "high" in comparison to my other icons.
How can I do this?
Is there a way to change the color of the battery icon? I know you can change the fonts, status bar, clock color, etc. It would be pretty cool to have a variety of colors to change to instead of the blue, green, etc.

But reliability is Job 1, so I kept chompSMS for a few weeks.Then I heard that Handcent received a major update a few days ago, so I replaced chompSMS with Handcent. So far so good. I got all the features back, and I haven't had one single issue in days of texting. So if you're like me and you left Handcent for chompSMS, you may want to give the new version a spin.

Text Message icon and notifications gone after I uninstalled Handcent SMS. I have been unable to find anything online in regards to this issue. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Also be wary of removing this application, FYI.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo like everyone else I was getting really annoyed about the time stamp issue with handcent under 2.2. I looked at the release notes for handcent and saw that version 3.27 added some sort of timestamp fix for the Droid X. Apparently this actually causes problems with the DroidX 2.2 official release. I got an older copy of handcent (version 3.26) and now everything appears with the correct time stamps. I got the apk from here: Download Handcent SMS for Android at Freeware Lovers. You will also need to use the app SMS Time Fix from the market to address the problem with the delay that causes messages to be out of order. So I guess one less thing broken, now if only they can fix the double lock.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to have a original Desire and could change the color of the LED when I receive an SMS on Handcent. I now have a Desire HD and cannot change it. The options appear but they seem to be grayed out - does the HD not support different colors or is this a Handcent issue?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I downloaded Handcent and the handcent keyboard in order to have T9 functionality (I like to type fast with one hand), and found the Handcent T9 keyboard to be pure crap.
First, it doesn't even have basic words in it, but mainly the letters only show and the numbers don't, so have to do a seperate thing just to put numbers in. Since it was free I got what I paid for.
So I search the market and found Better Keyboard and then had to also buy its T9 app, called EvenBetter Keyboard and this is much better. Is it worth it to buy to apps (2.99+3.99) just for T9 when there was a half-ass working one in Handcent for free? I don't know, but I am happy with it.
Was wondering if other people used T9 on Handcent and/or EvenBetter keyboard and what are your thoughts.
Please dont let this thread become a QWERTY vs T9 fight. Just asking about T9 and which vendor do you prefer using?
I'm trying to change my "Account Picture" in Handcent so that I'm not a silhouette with a question mark above my face in the chat threads. Unfortunately, when I go to change my Account Picture, it does nothing. Instead, it changes my X's home screen background to whatever picture I had selected for my Account Picture.

Anyone have suggestions for what I'm doing wrong in setting it up?Is there somewhere that I'm missing that says USE BUBBLES or something? I have the colors and all set up, but it just shows the standard style. Under the bubble setting, I have Handcent selected.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got my droid and so far I'm loving it but encountered a couple of issues. I immediately went to download chompsms but it is nowhere to be found in the android market. I tried to install it from the web browser but it gives me an error message "There is a problem parsing the package".
So I installed handcent sms and it seems fine except when I go to compose a new message there are no contacts in the contact list even though I have all my contacts from my gmail account.
Trying to send a picture taken with the camera via Handcent and always says it is too large - it will "resize" it and retry but it never goes through. I increased the MMS size to max (1 M) but they still are not able to be sent. I then send them with the native messages app (that came loaded on the phone) and they will make it. Any trick I am missing? or other settings I need to change? I hope so b/c I think Handcent is great otherwise really like the bubbles. (I also tried it w/ Chomp and it did not work either).
