View 3 RepliesI've noticed that lately, my download speeds on my rooted Droid (running BB 0.5 most recently, though this "problem" occurred with BB 0.4 and LFY 1.6 as well) have not been stellar, though my upload speeds seem fine:
Could this be caused by the baseband? Im running C_01.43.01P. Prior to that, I was running (I think) 3E, which came with the phone, and worked fine with BB 0.4 but when the updated one came out I updated it since, hey, it's newer right? Anyway, (1) is this certainly the problem? and (2) if I choose to, how can I safely roll back to the 3E baseband?
Ever since I downloaded the new update (DI18) this morning, I cannot get good download speeds, but my upload speeds have greatly increased. Any ideas? Here is some proof If someone could give me a clue of what the problem could be, that would be great.
View 25 Replies View RelatedSo I downloaded Linpack for Android and have been clocking between 7 and 8 Mflops for the last couple of days. I've got a Droid, running UltimateDroid 10, clocked at 1.0GHz, but I'm not getting anywhere near the guys that are getting up to 25 or even 52 Mflops.
I'm not greedy and I realize these are high extremes, but how do I start approaching these speeds?

My widget says max is 600 no matter what i set it at inside the application. when I go in and, say, set it to 800 it will stay there and then when i back out the widget will say 600 max still. Is this a widget error or am I doing something wrong in trying to set my processing speeds?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am new to rooting. Lurking for months and pulled the trigger today. Need help on overclocking. I installed the ChevyNo1-1.0Ghz-ulowV-7slot-update.zip kernel. Now I installed SetCPU and need help with the settings. Min/Max, Scaling, Set to Boot, profiles? Any suggestions on how to set it up?
View 7 Replies View RelatedNew to rooting and just got myself setCPU. I was wondering what some standard profiles that people use to maximize performance and battery life. So far I have it set to underclock when the screen is off and when less than a certain battery percentage. What temperature should I be looking at as "dangerous" to set my cpu to underclock then as well? Any other recommended profiles?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was using Locale for the past few days and it was working fine. I added defaults to it so I can have the ringer at high volume when I'm not at work. Well, once I added the defaults, it no longer uses my "Work" profile. I know it's not a GPS issue, because I have it set based on time. I've checked and double checked the settings, and I cannot figure out why it is keeping me in default mode while I'm right in the middle of my work schedule. Anybody else have this problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone using SetCPU to enforce underclocking profiles with their X? I'm concerned about how hot the X gets when it's charging in the car dock and using Navigation. Would downclocking the cpu to 800MHz or 600MHz when the battery is above a certain temp (45C or so) make a difference? Has anyone noticed any battery gains from using other profiles?
View 45 Replies View RelatedMost of my contacts have 3-4 Facebook profiles listed under their contact information, but they all link to the same thing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just rooted and Villian 2.1ified my Orange Hero. Now I swear there was an easy way to link contacts to their fb profiles, but now I can only find a way to manually do it one contact at a time. With alot of contacts, this could take somewhere between three to four years.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI searched around and couldn't find any answers, and all the threads for moto droid were ages old. I'm rooted and running a sapphire rom but that's not important. I can run anything. I'm just looking for a way to individually sync facebook contacts to existing phone contacts. I don't need all 1000 of my fb friends on my phone. But the contacts I DO have on my phone, it'd be cool to have synced up to fb. Is there any way to avoid the "all or nothing" mentality of fb sync?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHas an else had issues with the Sync of Facebook contacts since update 2.0.1?
All of my merged accounts profiles are all missing. Then when I try and re-edit the contact it says I am unable to edit Facebook contacts on this Device. What happened here? Anyone?
Ive got several profiles and sometimes it seems I have to open SetCPU for it to notice my priority. For instance I have 75 priority on >75 for it to be 800 and 1000 higher obviously. Well my phone was at 70 of course I didn't know the exact number and it showed 1000 but I clicked on SetCPU then clicked profiles and it dropped to 800. I'm not sure if you just have to click on the app and it updates or you have to click on it to refresh the screen. I've noticed it does this from time to time. Anyone have this problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI switched to a Motorola Droid 5 days ago (from a Blackberry curve). I'm having some trouble understanding some of the behavior and getting used to it. These are all things that I didn't have to deal with on the blackberry. I know they are different devices but I use my Phone primarily for work. I'm afraid now that I'll miss important messages or voice calls..
- Phone goes Mute (ringer)... No idea how it gets there. Probably a bad finger swipe on the home screen. Is there a way to disable this?
- No easy change from profiles (notifications, ringer, etc...). I tried a few apps but they all seems to fail at turning on/off notifications for e-mail/gmail.
- don't receive my messages (gmail), seems like it doesn't sync all the time
- gapps crashes all the time when downloading an app from the market.
- Random calls...
- Didn't use the browser, battery is 70%. Put it down for a movie (2 hours) and then battery is now 20%... Browser used the battery 50% according to the phone. Switch to the browser, was on the google.com home page.
I did search on all of these and they seem to be pretty much standard issues that people are having. Are they?Other that that it seems like a great phone. But like I said, I'm afraid of not getting calls sometime because it gets turned to "mute".
I was just hoping for some guidelines when using SetCPU as far as profiles, performance and battery life? I know it varies by kernel and right now I am using Chevy's uLV 1Ghz kernel.
View 1 Replies View RelatedGonna have 3g a lot of the time on. my Evo wondering those with Evo what are your speeds. Nexus is just kicking butt on Att here: 2.5 to 4 Mgs! Hate to step back too much.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI rec'd my EVO on Sat. Based on what I read about the reason for the extra $10.00 fee for premium service, I went ahead and purchased the phone, even though I don't have access to 4G at this time or maybe never have I have been checking my 3G speeds with Speedtest.n##. I have never used a phone with wireless data, so I was not just sure what to expect. I live in Tulsa, OK and this morning I went for a drive around the city and took speed reading at various points. My 3G results ranged from 0.36 to 1.93 Mbps down and 0.36 up. I decided to stop in at a local T-Mobile store and run a test there and compare it with a T-Mobile phone. It just so happened that a friend was there with his Google N1. So, we both ran the speed test on the same server. The best I could get was 1.93 Mbps and he got 3.95Mbps down. This got me to wondering if these speeds are typical for Sprint and why pay the extra $10.00 per month for a phone that was billed as providing an enhanced wireless experience. It may be enhanced, but it sure is a slow experience. By the way, at home my Wi-Fi speeds are 10.08 down and 3.00 up. Now, I know that speed varies by area and that Sprint Tulsa may just be a poor service area. Of course, all of this in is anecdotal. But, I wonder how this compares to your real time experiences. Please don't flame me, I am total new to cell phones with data plans.
View 49 Replies View Relatedi love my Inc, but every time i run a speed test, I can't help but be disappointed. I am at my desk, with a decent 3G signal (-80dBm), and here is what i am getting using different servers (I am in NM):
Modesto, CA: .17Mbps Down, .80Mbps Up (158 ping)
Scottsdale AZ: 1.08Mbps Down, .28Mps Up
Flagstaff AZ: .47Mbps Down, .81Mbps Up (279 ping)
Las Vegas, NV: .49Mbps Down, .87Mbps Up (139 ping)
Albuquerque, NM: .51Mbps Down, .66Mbps Up(163 ping)
San Fran, CA: .57 Down, .89 Up
Truth be told, i expected at least twice the DL speeds (at least one megabit/s). Am I dealing with a weak network here, or should i be looking inward at a phone issue?
So I just canceled my internet at my house after a frustrating experience with the cable company... so now I'm exclusively relying on the Evo for internet. My question is, is there any way to tether at 4g speeds? Either wired or wireless? I think I've read that the wireless tether app has not really been coded for 4g so the speeds do not come even close to typical 4g speeds. I also would rather avoid pdanet and easy tether because I don't want to pay in order to get full access. I've done some research in the matter but still have things kinda muddy in my mind.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI currently have the EVO with Android 2.2 and build version 3.29. My data speed is horrible? 90% of time I get 300-400 kbps on i network test.com/android/test Some random times I get 800-1000 when I am driving. Is it the phone, OS or Sprint?I live in the Detroit metro area. Can I root and go back to Android 2.1 and will anything improve?
View 12 Replies View RelatedMy Incredible has 1/2 bars most of the time. This would be ok if my data speeds weren't so terrible. Most of the time my DL is at 250kbps. The only time I had 4 bars was at the Verizon store, where I got 1.7Mbps DL. Are you guys and gals happy with your data speed?

View 49 Replies View RelatedI have horrible data service, Ill get a regular rate of about .09 KB/s up to 80 KB/s (but typically 10-30 KB/s)
On really good days I can get 90-120 KB/s but then my phone signal starts to die ... I've used cm 7 , stock and cm9 (current rom) and its the same on each one..(Already used every single data/signal booster in market and zep 3g booster)
Is there anyway to increase 3g speeds.I am only getting 0.11mbps down and 1.7up.Any way to increase it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt seems that when I'm tethering my connection is not very strong at all. I believe its only about 6kbs. Anyway to increase this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAs of yesterday im getting like .3mb down and literally 9kb up. this is after running both extreme labs and speedtest.nets apps from the market. I have full root(both steps from toast). Ive flashed a few rooms(BB, fresh, etc) but now i am back to the stock rom with root (Supersonic_1.32.651.6_ rooted) and i am still getting the same speeds.PRL updates have been done. I even did a full data restore(##3282#->data*->data restore). Nothing is working Im pulling the battery for a while to see if that helps.
View 21 Replies View RelatedOut of curiosity is anyone getting wildly different results from their handsets speedtests vs their actual download throughput? On 4G when I do a Speedtest using either the FCC's or Speedtest.net application I fall between 200-250K/sec, if I'm lucky regardless of server. Often less. Upload always seems to pin exactly at 1mb/sec regardless of my signal. On the other hand when I tether I consistently get 300K/sec. I'm starting to wonder if the Sprint Hotpot application caps at 300K/sec?Is there something wrong with the Speedtest app? People I can compare with here at work get better speeds on their iPhones 3G using the handset test but get AWFUL, terrible speeds tethering with their iPhones. Is there a reason the speedtests app do so poorly? Anyone have any idea if the Hotspot App caps throughput?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhenever I try and playback music via BT, regardless of music player (I've tried 3) the music playback speeds up, slows down, speeds up, etc., and will NOT play at a consistant speed. All background processes are disabled, etc. I do NOT notice this same thing during video playback (although there is a 40ms delay in audio sync from the video), but it plays at a constant speed.
