Samsung EPIC 4G :: Low DL Speeds Increased UL Speeds After DI18 Update
Oct 2, 2010Ever since I downloaded the new update (DI18) this morning, I cannot get good download speeds, but my upload speeds have greatly increased. Any ideas? Here is some proof If someone could give me a clue of what the problem could be, that would be great.

Nov 17, 2010I am unable to check my gmail nor download anything on the market. I am constantly having to turn my phone off and back on to get these working. Sometimes 5+ times a day. I have all of the sync options turned on and my phone still struggles to sync my gmail. This is getting quite frustrating. Anyone else having the same issues? I know a lot of people have talked about the market issues, but I haven't heard anything about anyone else having the same problems with their gmail.

I was told that the reason that I keep seeing the "No update file exists" message when I check "update firmware" is because I have the latest version.
At some point my phone was updated without giving me a message. I did notice the red and blue arrows yesterday. But there was no message. My SD card mounted and dismounted on its own and gave an error message, and then all references to the error and SD card disappeared.
If your phone is/has exhibited this sort of behavior, you may already have the update.

Samsung Epic 4G :: Can't Update PRL Or Profile On Epic 4g
Nov 7, 2010I was in an area with some not so great reception this evening and at one point my text messages wouldn't send.I decided to update my profile and prl just to see what it could do for me and the updates failed. Oddly enough, I could still access 3g data, just no text.I could make phone calls, just no outgoing texts (can't confirm incoming).Anyway, on my way home, I sent myself a text and it worked fine, but I still couldn't connect to update my prl or profile which I've never had a problem with before. I got home and did a quick search and found this thread: Samsung Moment.Can't update Firmware, Profile, or PRL.I'd follow up with a call to Sprint to see if this might hopefully be the case, but they aren't available right now. Anyone else having trouble updating their prl or profiles tonight?

Oct 5, 2010I've noticed that lately, my download speeds on my rooted Droid (running BB 0.5 most recently, though this "problem" occurred with BB 0.4 and LFY 1.6 as well) have not been stellar, though my upload speeds seem fine:
Could this be caused by the baseband? Im running C_01.43.01P. Prior to that, I was running (I think) 3E, which came with the phone, and worked fine with BB 0.4 but when the updated one came out I updated it since, hey, it's newer right? Anyway, (1) is this certainly the problem? and (2) if I choose to, how can I safely roll back to the 3E baseband?

I only get my email to show up on my inbox on my phone ONLY when i open email. Sep 18, 2010I'm hoping someone can help here. I recently installed the OTA update and then figured it would be a good time to reset the phone to factory settings. So I did that, went into the Market to redownload my apps and noticed that only some of them were listed. Searching for the missing apps yields nothing. Some of the ones that are missing include Slingplayer, Logmein, Fandango, Samsung Desktop Dock Application, Pure Calendar Widget, and my Exchange by Touchdown key. They aren't listed in the downloads and searching for them again yields nothing. I have tried performing a hard reset on the phone (twice) but that doesn't fix the issue. I also tried clearing the cache in the browser but no luck.

Sep 19, 2010I got the update this morning and today I am getting really Shity service at home. I used to get great service at home. My wife also has an epic and she got the update this morning too. We put our phones next to each other and she has full bars. I am lucky if I get one. It looses service constantly and is looking for service. Oct 3, 20104g working right before the update. After the update (DI18 OTA) it shows 4g being connected (2 4g bars) but nothing works. Internet, speedtest app, anything that requires internet times out. Anyone else experiencing this problem any suggestions? I have turned it off and on but that's not helping.

Samsung Epic 4G :: Email Not Refreshing After Update?
Sep 17, 2010I don't know if it was the update that was pushed to me today, but the stock email app hasn't updated my two accounts since before ten this morning. My data works, because I just checked my hotmail through the dolphin browser. But it & the other account I have set up on the phone won't refresh, even when I manually select it on the menu. Anyone else having an issue or have a fix? works after another restart, hope I won't have to deal with this often
