I own a droid and love it!but look, I work at a machine shop and need something to cover my droids usb port.Anyone know of a case, other than the leather belt ones (not 45 yet and don't work in the IT field)

the small usb port cover separate from the phone. Mine did yesterday. It's held in place by a small plastic tab which has a barbed end which should keep it attached. I guess with all the charging that this phone requires this little cover gets moved and twisted alot. It will still go back in place but I'm afraid that at some point it will separate and I'll lose it. My old HTS had a much more rubbery cover that always stayed attached to the phone.

I'll accidentally slide it off when pulling my phone out of my pocket all the time... and sometimes it gets pulled off in my pocket so I take the phone out and the cover falls on the ground I really don't want to put a case on my phone just to hold the damn battery cover on.

The last time it fell off while I was walking and talking in the street and I couldn't find it to put it back together. So now i have a droid without the battery cover. Is anyone else experiencing this problem as well? If yes, does anyone know a solution?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm onto my 2nd Droid.The first one had the same battery cover issue as everyone appears to be talking about.very loose, comes off in your pocket, etc.Now the new one has an entirely different battery cover issue.one of the door prongs doesn't appear to "catch" on one of the holes on the back (top right hole, closest to the USB connector).The net result is that the door stays on, but this corner of the battery cover sticks out/up.Anyone have the same issue?Fixes?

I emailed them about 7days ago explained that i bought a droid and it has a loose battery cover and just received my replacement cover today. Very fast and responsive service if you ask me.
View 15 Replies View RelatedFirst droid had an imperfection on the glass screen that caused a black spot (prolly 3-4 pixels big) on a white background in which I could not fix because it was part of the glass. Second droid had dust infiltrating on the sides leading to a distraction when viewing the screen. Now, my third droid has such a loose battery cover that it comes off in my pocket a lot. Am I too picky or do I just have bad luck? Really don't want to go to the verizon store again for a loose battery cover but I think that is a legitmate problem, and btw I have tried a different battery cover and that isn't the problem, it must be what the cover hooks onto inside the phone that is causing it to be loose.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince the glass covering the lens for the camera is flush with the back of the phone, with my droid I constantly have fingerprints all over it just from holding the phone.With such a tiny lens, a tiny bit of grease from your fingerprints can completely ruin videos and pictures.Things like Phantomskinz intentionally leave the lens uncovered - probably because putting any kind of fingerprint resistant material over it would compromise its optical qualities.I was originally looking at the hard silicone snap on case because that would effectively inset the lens a few millimeters from the back of the phone, meaning my skin wouldn't be touching it when just holding the phone. However, I decided not to use this because it wouldn't fit in the car dock with that case.Aside from simply cleaning it off every time you want to take a picture or video, has anyone found an easy way to keep finger prints off the lens protector?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using a LG Voyager (Christmas gift) and a 32gb Ipod touch for the last 2 years biding my time, loathing my 2 year contract and waiting for the release of the Iphone 4 but then the droid X was announced and have spent my time since obsessing over previews, reviews, specs, hands on Youtube videos, news articles and everything Android. And this is the conclusion I have come to.
I have been following Droid X news and reviews hardcore for the last 3 weeks as well as Apple/Iphone 4 news.
Apple is desperately trying to maintain the crown while the castle walls crumble around them. The Droid X truly is the first of I'm sure many Android contenders coming within the next 2 years. Unlike the Evo 4g it is on the Verizon network and packs more features and stability than any other phone with the exception of the Iphone that finishes first only by a spider hair.
In the past 2 weeks Apple has dispatched "rumor spys" to announce "IPHONE COMING TO VERIZON!!"
Yeah well we've been hearing that for a year now. But I am actually certain this time the rumors ARE true. But the point is the usually secretive "Apple" all the sudden has leaks just in time for the Droid X release.
Today I read that Apple has said that the antenna issue isn't the problem. They say it was a "flaw" with Iphone software displaying better reception (more bars) than there actually was and that when bridging the wifi and cell antennas touching the two at once users were displaying the "actual" coverage. Well this tells us two things.
1. Apple knew that AT&t had sub par coverage that wouldn't be able to handle data heavy phones and it would show.
2. Apple tried to cover the bad AT&T coverage by making the coverage look better than it is.
Why would they do that you ask? Well think about it. When the Iphone 1g was first released there weren't many "smart phones" that also included the multimedia hand held entertainment aspect. You had Blackberry that did a lot of innovative business things but lacked any real fun. Then along came the admittedly awesome, futuristic, and fun Iphone with tons of apps and features.
The phone was expensive for its time and no matter how much the phone could do it would be hard to do all the great things in less than a month especially on a completely new un matured product. So imagine you go buy this Iphone and you know you have 30 days to see whether you like it but the first thing you notice is all the places the phone doesn't get reception. The last thing Apple wanted was bad press at a time when the whole world was lauding their greatness. Another news story that broke today was that an app maker had figured out how to hack into the Itunes App Market and charge random Itunes users for his products thus launching 40 of his apps to top status. Apple just got around to fixing this problem even though it has been ongoing for some time. Well all the secrets are coming out now. And Apple is scrambling while the bad news keeps coming and they watch their stock plummet as fast as Ilemmings off a cliff and into the ocean. But none of this recent disaster is Apple's biggest problem. The problem is while all this bad Apple press is lingering Iphone competitors sporting an ever improving Android operating system are releasing innovative envelope pushing products every month while Apple and mac fanatics will be waiting at least 1 1/2 to 2 years respectively for Apples next Iphone hardware update that will again be adding new "original features" to compete with the technological competition that came since it's last game of catch up.
how do i change this? every time i play an mp3 on my music player, the album art will show up as a picture of me and my friend, that my friend sent to me (i downloaded it and deleted it a while ago). somehow its staying as the album cover. how do i get rid of it?

Its not noticeble unless you actually touch that part. And now that i know its there its bugging the heck out of me. I would like to know if anyone has this same problem. Or is there a way to fix this? i would really like to know.It's never been dropped or banged.

It's like that part is not properly secured to the backplate.Could someone else attempt this for me. I want to know if it's how it was constructed, or if it's just my unit.Just run your fingernail with LIGHT pressure across the speaker cover. See if it pushes in in the middle.

Well its been over my 30 days and i took my "protective" case off, only to find a WHOLE BUNCH of scratches on my droid due to the case being on it! I'm so upset! Has anyone else had this problem!? Its so frustrating. Only other problem is when im googling things sometimes it goes half out, where what i type is only visible partially and wont search, very annoying. Anyone else have either of these problems? if so, what can be done?

I figured it could be possible with root but wasn't sure. I have tried a couple of apps from the market and they seem a little sluggish to me, and I hate the 2.2 locksreen on the phone. When I sbf'd back to 2.1 the other day the locksreen was so much better and makes me want it.

I am curious to know if anyone has tried attaching a keyboard, controller or remote through the Micro USB port yet. Is there any apps yet to allow this? I think I may try and order a cheap Mini USB Game Controller with a Micro USB Adapter and see if I can use it to play games through one of my Emulators. If anyone has already tried this please let me know. Being able to use this Micro USB to output video is also a question I have. If anyone has discovered anything cool with this Micro USB port feel free to share.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was trying to update boot image, and no dice. Everything was nandroided and I re updated 0.7 BB 2.1 for cleanliness. Everything is peachy when on battery, not on USB. EVEN after cleaning cache and all that, reboot loop. I didn't nandroid this issue, I know that.
