I was trying to update boot image, and no dice. Everything was nandroided and I re updated 0.7 BB 2.1 for cleanliness. Everything is peachy when on battery, not on USB. EVEN after cleaning cache and all that, reboot loop. I didn't nandroid this issue, I know that.

I've been rooted for quite some time to it. Not exactly an old pro, but I know my way around at this point.At any rate, I decided to give the BatteryLeft widget a try today since I went to Fab's xTheme and it didn't have a battery percentage in the notification bar. The dev recommends that you let your phone completely discharge a few times so that it can accurately predict the remaining percentage and the time until the battery dies.So I let the battery completely discharge and I connected it to my home wall charger to begin recharging. The problem I have been having is that my phone will not stay powered off and continually tries to boot up. I tried charging via car charger, USB and in the media dock and I had the same result.
The problem is that the phone won't charge long enough to stay powered on and continue to charge. The process of rebooting seems to prevent the phone from charging appropriately and uses up the small bit of the charge the battery gets for the 2-3 seconds before rebooting.I tried rebooting into CWR and letting it sit to gather enough charge to stay up, but that doesn't seem to have worked either.I'm at a loss for what to do. I can't get the phone to stay on to do anything, I can't get it to stay off to charge.
I'm having a really strange problem when listening to Pandora or Last.fm radio on my Eris (haven't tried music off my SD card yet, still have it all on my old phone) through the aux port on my Sony headunit.
When it plays, sometimes it will skip to the next song at random and even make a PHONE CALL to the last number on my call list! All while the screen is locked. Yes, the phone will unlock, make a call, and skip songs without me touching it. I was thinking it's the cable (cheap-o I got from dealextreme.com) but my friend's Motorola Droid works fine in my car. I jiggled the cable around where it was plugged into the phone and it skipped a song. So I tried plugging it into the desktop HD radio's aux port at work, and it works fine. Jiggling the cord did nothing. So could it be the cord? Or is it my headunit? The thing is, my LG Chocolate2 worked just fine in my car (with an adapter plug) with the same cable/radio.
I am trying to communicate between two android emulators for communication , thus I am trying to forward port X to port Y on 127.0.0.1 where port X is the port I am transmitting too and Y is the one I am receiving . Is this possible and if so how do I forward the local ports?

I noticed when I plug in the usb cord to my computer, no matter what I set it at (charge only, mount hard drive, etc....) the computer makes the noise like i've unplugged something from the usb even though everythings still plugged in. once it does that the phone is no longer charging and I cant see the hard drive anymore until I unplug and replug it back in. then it does it again within a minute or two.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking about an Android app (with possibly an accompanying physical device), and i'm trying to figure out whether this is something that's feasible.
1) Let's say I plug my Android to my PC. Would it be possible for an app installed on the PC to communicate with an app running in the cell phone? I just need a very simplistic data exchange, it can even be one-way (just data pushed from the cell phone to the listening app on the PC, whenever the cell phone wants, I don't need any data sent from PC to phone).
When I plug it in, the phone gives me 4 options (charge, disk drive, HTC sync, tethering), which makes me think this is not doable, but still worth the shot.
2) Would it be possible for an app on the PC to talk to an app on the phone through any other way? (Wi-fi, bluetooth, etc). I'm guessing no on wi-fi since neither party has the other's IP (and I want this to kinda just work, not having to input IPs manually all the time).
3) If I make a device that's plugged to the little USB port at the bottom of the phone (and let's say this is a magical device that can do anything, I don't quite care about those details as long as it's doable). Can I have an Android app talk to that device?
4) Any other ideas to make the phone talk to a "device" that I make, or to an app in the PC are more than welcome. Going "through the web" could be an option (although there'd have to be a central server that I own as a middle man, I believe). But i'd prefer if the communication was direct between the two devices.
I installed CM using CWM onto my HTC Deluxe. I tried 4 different nightlies and the 10.2 stable and after installing any of them, I get this... it reboots into the white htc screen with a quick vibrate. Then it goes black for a second and reboots again. No CM screen or anything!
I've tried flashing it multiple times, doing factory resets, clearing cache and dalvaic cache. I am at a loss as to what to do next. with the 10.2, instead of rebooting it just gets stuck at the HTC white screen!
This afternoon, while scanning the forums. I had my Incredible charging off the AC adapter. and in airplane mode for shits and giggles. After doing some research on the ATK killers. I decided to uninstall mine and just allow the phone to manage itself. After the phone was finished with the uninstall I gave it a quick reboot just to allow the core apps to come back up. and upon doing so, I found myself in an endless reboot cycle. I would get the HTC " quietly brilliant " screen, followed by two verizon wireless screens and then loop back to the HTC screen. I let it loop about 10 times before pulling the battey to stop it.
It's rather odd. After pulling the battery and disconnecting it from the charger, I let it sit for a few minutes, replaced the battery and attempted the restart again. Once again I found myself in the same loop. After 5-6 loops i was finally brought to the OS and everything loaded as normal. Anyone have opinions on what may have caused this?
1. Uninstall of ATK
2. Rebooting while on charge
3. Airplane mode + charge + reset=boom
4. Because I touch myself at night
I went through the long process of setting up my new Evo LTE yesterday. Basically, installing and configuring a bunch of apps. Everything was looking good and working well. So the last thing that I decided to do last night was to give it a reboot. I saw it reboot (and was nice and fast) so I walked away. When I came back I noticed that it seemed to be rebooting again. So I watched it. The phone starts up and I can unlock it. I see items in the notification bar starting, I see a message right above the bottom menu bar appear stating "Content update error. Try again later.", and then about 30 seconds later the screen goes gray and then reboots. I have time to get in and look at settings and uninstall things - about 1 minute. But I really do not know where to start.
Is there a way of preventing apps from auto starting at boot? The phone is stock (no root).

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy dinc just automatically rebooted and got stuck in the initial white droid incredible screen (before the green htc logo)....vibrate...black...white droid incredible screen. happened for first time two nights ago...finally got it out of this and wiped phone to factory. just today happened again. i was able to uninstal it in between the 5 minutes of working phone i had (kept going into reboot cycle....and as soon as i uninstalled it..this nonesense stopped!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a non-rooted EVO with all the latest updates and lately it will randomly go into a reboot loop. The only way I've been able to stop this loop is immediately put it in airplane mode, that is when it gets as far as the main screen. Usually it doesn't even get to the 4G animation before crashing again. Is there a fix for this? Or is this a hardware issue? I have not done a hard reset yet or anything.

I did not have this problem until 2.2. I can just be surfing the web or running any simple app and the phone gets really hot and bam. reboot...reboot..reboot. Have to pull the battery to stop it.
After reading a few other threads, I did the factory reset nd even completely cleaned my external card. I installed all my apps again. Then I used the web browser for about 5 minutes and ..... reboot loop.
Anyone else having this problem? I guess I am just going to have to go to verizon and get a refurb, but then I might also get an SLCD huh? Am I really going to tell the difference between those two screens? Will verizon only replace my phone with another incredible? I am just sick of this reboot thing and don't know what else to do.
I woke today to find my Galaxy Nexus in a reboot loop. I went to bed last night and it was working fine but now it just constantly rebooting. Maybe some app auto-updated over night?
I have 4.0.2 ICL53F currently loaded, updated it about two months ago.I recently loaded CWM recovery.
i just got a Samsung Captivate Galaxy S I9000, here is the problem.
1) It is locked to Rogers Wireless, because my friend tested it by inserting his Rogers SIM card into it and it works normally like a phone.
Here is where it gets interesting:
2) When i insert another foreign SIM card such as FIDO cell carrier. The phone boots into the lock screen and it says Media Scanning...and then it proceeds to the booting up screen again.
From my lack of skills in Android software, i am really stuck. But from the powers of observation, it seems the phone was flashed and is currently running a custom ROM on it from Serendipity VII.
The phone runs perfectly, without a sim card, but that's like holind a tablet without a phone line. What should i do?

My Gnex has started to loop on boot screen and then reboot (Slimbean 4.3 update 2). I tried to wipe cache partition , to wipe dalvik cache, to flash the same rom, to flash another rom, to delete all data... but nothin happens.. it seems like the recovery (CWM) can't delete anything! if i delete or format anything , nothing happens! but the recovery told me that the process has succedeed.. I tried using Wugfresh toolkit to flash stock and also Odin.. but nothin happens.. I tried some casual commands on ADB, but i'm no good with ADB.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an Allwinner A10 clone (Kurio 7), it is designed for kids but otherwise a standard android tablet. After hours of googling I rooted and installed CWM & Gapps (not included in the stock ROM). So far so good. The stock ROM was causing issues with some apps, it needed to go.
I flashed CM10 and it worked but no touch screen. It needed a compatibility flash to make it work. You can guess what's coming. I picked the wrong one and now the device does the following:
Reboot loop
Black screen (backlight though)
PWR+Vol up no longer gets to recovery
Vibrates constantly between reboots (due to wrong patch I'm guessing)
ADB picks up the device for a split second between reboots but "adb reboot recovery" does nothing. Even when using wait command. Tried "fastboot flash recovery cwm.img" after wait command, no luck. Is there anything else I can try?
My droid has been plugged in all night, today i had to take a trip to city, so I unplugged my droid and plugged it back into the cig lighter (verizon plug, not after market) and started up Trappist. Battery was full when I started, when I got to my destination an hour later the battery was at 50%. Why is it discharging if its plugged in?

I have a Droid X and so does my GF. Both of us have obviously been adding apps, trying to figure things out, etc. quite a bit. She plugged hers in last night to charge and it turned off. We thought maybe because it was so warm from messing with it. Well, today it's turned off twice for no reason at all. Anyone else have this problem or have a recommendation? Everything seems ok on hers when we compare our two. Mine has yet to do this once?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI flashed my phone to 2.0.1 b/c I thought I had to do that. Turns out I didn't, but there is outdated and updated information out there and I was misled. Anyway, 2.0.1 installed fine and it booted up, though my phone wasn't activated. Anyway, then I realized I needed SPRecovery, so I installed the sbf for that using RSD Lite. It installed successfully as far as i can tell? But it did a reboot, and now it's just stuck on the white-background Moto logo while plugged into my USB. RSD Lite says "Please manually power up this phone."

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a DROID that has been flashed to cricket. I woke up this morning and the phone was working just fine. I went to turn on music and noticed all of my music was gone. I started my anti virus to see if maybe something there was causing an issue, and during the scan my music showed up. My phone started running really slow and some pop-ups started showing up stating that "whatever the name was" application has not responded with three options "Force close, wait, and report" When I got frustrated enough to pull the battery, I started getting a boot loop. In the past I get the loop anytime I pull the battery, but if I let it run for 3 or 4 boots, the phone works just fine and I go on with my life. This morning I was not able to get back to "just fine" And the phone has been in an infinite loop all day. I have had it charging, I have tried disconnecting the battery and all the options the forums online have stated.
I can boot into recovery, and about every 6-10 boots the main screen will come up after the eye. I get the main screen with my lock code, the time, notification that I have a voicemail, and "no service" with 0 bars. I get that for about 3-10 seconds, and the phone reboots starting yet again at the white droid symbol screen. While in recovery mode I have been able to navigate around the recovery screens. When I try to do a recovery though, I get "Error: nandroid exited with status 20" if I try to do a backup I get the same error just with status "36" I have no idea where do go from here. I have read that if I flash the SPRecovery it will fix the boot loop, but the biggest thing I am worried about here is loosing my Cricket flash. I do not know how all of this stuff works, so if I am calling the Cricket "flash" wrong, please by all means correct me. If I can flash the SPRecovery while keeping my provider's "flash," or whatever you want to call it, are there instructions on how to do this flash of the SPRecovery? I have recently gotten my entry code in fast enough to get the background to show up. I have a loader app loaded and it showed all the icons at the bottom of the screen, but after a few seconds the phone went back into a boot loop. It showed the correct background, but it didn't show any of the applications loaded. I have let the phone reboot twice since starting this response, and got the same result. The second time I got my code in, I was able to see apps on the background, but a few short seconds later, the phone freezes and shuts off again. I see that I am making progress, but it has been hours so I am hoping there will be a quick answer to help me here.
