I'd like to get better html e-mail rendering on my Droid. I recently tested Touchdown and it did a fantastic job with html exchange e-mail. I decided I didn't need all of its functionality nor did I want to spend $20.

On my old blackberry I could do this and would not actually delete from my inbox but it would delet from my phone. Is this possible? The phone and everything on it work fine except it is running Firmware 2.0 When I check for updates it says that there are no updates available. My old Droid that broke was running the 2.2 How do I upgrade to the 2.2 or will the update just appear one of these days? Also the yahoo mail app does not appear in the marlet on the new phone but I had been running it on my old phone. Is this due to the older operating system?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI tried to set up my pop3 e-mail on my phone last night and I keep getting a "username or password is incorrect" error message on my incoming email. I am able to send e-mail from the phone.The funny thing is that if I check my email from my PC and empty any e-mail's that are in my inbox, then try to check for new e-mail's with my DroidX (knowing that there are none) I do not get any errors.The errors only occur when there are e-mails in my inbox.Didn't have any problems with this setup with the incredible.

I don't want to forward my mail to gmail nor do I want to switch everything over. I am getting notifications from both so I have to read and delete everything twice. I can't Uninstall either of them. Is there a fix for this? All my gmail based accounts are showing up with HTML formatted messages as they should but all of the HTML formatted messages on my exchange account end up looking like markup language. I turned off the accept all certs and I'm now able to properly download attachments from exchange just not able to get HTML emails to display properly.

I have a locally saved HTML file with extension .HTML, which I had pulled from my Drop Box account, but I can never open it properly. Using Estranges, I just get a "cannot load" or something-or-other page. However, if I go to the stock browser and input file:/// plus the path... no problems. Any ideas as to the problem here? We are unable to open html attachments over 100 KB on the Droid X from corporate sync.
other attachments (like xls and pdf) can be many MB without any problem.

I have heavily edited the original text and instead of the how question I am posting the code that produces the effect I wanted, namely a floating menu on top that stays fixed as I scroll whatever is in the middle with a lower menu at the bottom of the screen. Ain't life sweet - Might even work on the iPhone as well.
Why I posted was like I said in the original question. I'm fiddling with creating the initial lay out for a "mobile" application for the disabled, have tonnes of data, dictionary files, icons for the purpose etc. I want to have the app running as HTML to make it as portable as possible, i.e. make it runnable on Android, Iphone, Maemo... whatever.
I got some hints by looking at the example at http://www.quackit.com/css/codes/css_floating_menu.cfm as well as a lot of trial and error and finally minor edits by a paid freelancer.
Below you can find some crude (to put it mildly) HTML/CSS (cut the CSS part and load a style instead in the HTML's you create for cleaner code) but for now, let's look at the prototype concept.

There was another question on here and the only answer was to use html styling but you can't change a font size in html without using css (or the deprecated font tag). There must be a better way of setting the pixel size of the font used on buttons?
for some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.

All worked fine for a few days but now I notice that I get no notification of any type for new mail unless I manually press the sync button.I thought that the gmail was a push like SMS and as soon as new mail arrives it notifies me (yes notifications are on).I just tested it by sending an email from my work address to gmail. Nothing on the phone but it does show if I log in via a regular computer.
