I did a search but could not find anything on some or all of this.
1. I have hotmail and want it to sync to the droid?
2. I need to see the hotmail email with proper html (not just text)?
3. If I delete from the droid will it delete from my hotmail?
4. Is there any app I can download or purchase for the droid that will do this?
5. Is the app k9 any help or solve this for me?

I have a Hotmail account and I downloaded the Hotmail app and set up my email. However, when I delete an email on the phone I would like it NOT to delete on the server. I have tried looking everywhere for this setting ("Never delete from server") on both the app and on the server itself with no luck. I noticed the native email app has this setting but I prefer to use the hotmail app. I have also tried K-9, and while I really like the UI it has not been reliable in delivering my hotmail (gmail gets delivered right away).
how to find the proper setting? Or is there not a setting like this yet?I have a SGS2(HD LTE) running gingerbread.
I've searched loads of threads on the forum but can't an answer for this! I like having my Hotmail pushed to me and because the HTC client doesn't support Hotmail push I've downloaded and used the stock android email.apk. It works fine (pushes) but the emails are not HTML. There is no option to display as HTML but I've seen it display HTML from other email clients!
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a POP email address for work, and it seems like it will go days at a time without notifying me of new email, then all of the sudden send my 50 new emails. Do I have to open the htc mail program for it to sync? I want my emails to automatically be sent to my phone. Does anyone know if I have messed up a setting or something, or am I expecting blackberry performance from a phone that wont do that.

I used to have an iPhone before this one and before that, a Windows Phone. From my Windows Phone, it automatically saved my contacts to my Hotmail account and when i got my iPhone and added that account, it synced them back so i didn't manually have to add all my contacts again. How can i re-do this on my new phone?

I'm guessing it has something to do with the screen with the sort of blank white canvas with two tabs underneath it - a pencil & 3 horizontal lines?! When you press on it it brings up the screen 'Choose a mail provider' with two options of 'Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync & Other (POP3/IMAP). Both options have thwarted my attempts and to be honest I've no real idea what I am doing. I've synced the phone with my outlook CALENDAR at work, but not the emails - again no idea how to do that! I have set my phone gmail up fine, but a blindfolded crippled donkey could do that.

I need to specify LayoutParams for the each View returned by getView() method of my adapter. In case of Gallery it should be instance of Gallery.LayoutParams, and in case of GridView it should be GridView.LayoutParams. I'll get an exception for sure if I'll try Gallery.LayoutParams with GridView and vice versa.What is the best way to do that? Can I somehow use "parent" parameter (ViewGroup parent) for that?

But in the vid there was never a mention of wiping the cache and/or partition while in nandroid. I seem to recall that somewhere else on here. I got Flash downloaded but I cant figure out for the life of me on how to install it . I know I got it because I got the file in astro. If I try to use the Navigation, when it looks for the GPS satellite, it shows me at the wrong location, but then it refreshes and puts me in the right location. Is there some type of setting that may need to be changed? It's very annoying seeing the weather location being in the wrong city.

Droid X newbie but not new to Android. I've had a Droid for a year (almost) and my work phone just got upgraded form a bb to an X. I'm having trouble with the stock email program being able to send email fro my personal account. I use pair networks for my email hosting. I am able to set up the account to work fine on K9 mail, but not the stock email program. My corporate exchange email doesn't like K9 mail for some reason, so I don't want to use that for personal email if I have to. I notice on K9 mail, there's an option to check to not login for outgoing mail, but on the stock email program, it always asks for user name and pw in the outgoing settings. I have tried leaving them blank, but to no avail.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is my first "smartphone" although I have used a corporate Blackberry and I have used a Palm for many years. I've had this phone for about a month now. While the hardware is ok, the software for critical functions (Calendar, Contacts, Notepad, and Music) absolutely sucks!
1. I do not want to use Google/Gmail for my calendar and contacts. I don't know about any of you, but I do not feel comfortable having my confidential contact and calendar information sitting on the internet in Google. The company I work for even has a block on Google contacts & Gmail because it is not secure and fraught with potential for virus. I want a way to sync calander, contacts and notepad directly from my PC to my phone. Unfortunately, this can't be done. I've tried Companion Link. Besides the fact that it cost $39, I can't even get it to work. This type of functionality should be a basic part of a smartphone. Iphones do it. Blackberry's do it. Palm Pre does it. Why not the Droid?
2. Music - I have been trying to figure out a way that music synced to the Droid will play in the proper order. The Droid will only play music in Alphabetical order. I can't find a way to play music in Track # order. I have been on the phone with Motorola for hours. Finally got to Level 2 tech support. They told me that it cannot be done. How stupid is this? Try listening to a Broadway Show album in alphabetical order! Right now I feel if you just want a fancy toy, buy a Droid. If you want a real "smartphone" look somewhere else.
Up until Sept 19, I was able to either hit reply, compose new, or send emails from links/apps without any issues. I use Hotmail and go thru the stock email client on the phone. All of a sudden, every time I try to send an email, it errors out and I get a notice saying it wasn't sent. The phone doesn't give a reason, and the only option is to delete the message. Did the Froyo update mess something up or what? I haven't changed any of the settings on my account and only occasionally had this happen before, but now it happens on every outgoing message.

To specify, I have folders for emails from my university, emails I send to myself, etc. I only get the generic emails that I do not filter to a folder.

Is there any way to view HTML emails with HTC mail viewer? I know I can with the googlemail app. I have tried changing email size to "No Limit" but the option below of "message format" is greyed out as "plain text". Any way to change this to HTML?

It acts like as if because all of the emails are new to it then it thinks they're new and labels them new so if I have 100 emails that are in my hotmail account none of which are new. I get 100 notifications on my phone as it imports the emails in saying "new" email.

I keep getting messages in my hotmail in box saying that I have new mail when in fact I have already read the email. This seems to happen every time I delete mail when I go to hotmail on the web. For instance, I just deleted 1 email on the web then a few minutes later my phone is saying I have 7 unread messages from last week that I already read and kept on the phone.
