View 18 Replies View RelatedI've been searching for about two hours, and not found the answer I'm looking for(Probably missed it in my frustration).Today my Droid decided to reboot itself..and went directly to the Bootloader.I've tried everything..Factory reset(Which seems to fail)..redoing the 2.0.1 update(Which says there is an error in the .zip every time)..formatting the SD card.Best I get is once in a while it will boot up like a spanking new Droid-Exexpt the wireless radio does not function-no way to enable the network..but wifi works. To get it to fire upo I have to Format the SD card everytime.
I know there are recovery images/2.1 images out there.. Just how to flash them into the phone? The bootloader says ready to program..Again, I most likely missed the how-to, and a lot of the links to the files needed are broken anyhow.
I tried to install a Bootanimation with bootanimation.zip When i turned on the phone, it keeps loading the Sprint 4G splash screen...So i just went to the Recovery screen and re-flashed the Damagecontrol 3.2.3, and it still just stays at the Sprint 4g slash page. I can get into the recovery screen which has ROM Manager. Did I screw something up thats too deep internally?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI updated a few apps yesterday afternoon, I can't remember all of them but Open Home was one of them. I turned my phone off when I got to work and when I turned it back on it would not go past the Android loading screen. T-Mobile had me reset back to the default setting so I lost all my apps and such. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem after updating an app recently.I don't want to download the app again if its broken.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S phone and am wondering if the lagfix can brick my phone. Are there only one method of doing the Lagfix? If there are more than one, are there any that doesn't risk getting the phone bricked?
View 7 Replies View RelatedYes you read it right I want to know how I can brick my phone or make it stop working completely. Now let me explain the reason why. I had installed an app called "Launcher Pro". Later I uninstalled it and that is when all hell broke lose. Basically when ever I would swipe my screen to unlock the phone, I would get constant error messages that would reappear the moment I would close them, and to make matters worse it would lock out the rest of the screen so I can not click any thing else (just like in windows vista and windows 7 when a UAC message pops up). This is further complicated by the fact that I have a Bell Canada Samsung Galaxy Phone, which does not have the 3 button recovery ability but that is not the end of my problems. I got this phone at a store called Best Buy and got their warranty. Now one of the things that voids the warranty is unlocking the phone, guess what?? My phone is unlocked. So since my phone is not dead, it boots up, the lock screen loads up, the top bar shows u the battery life and the fact it is getting service and can receive calls (but which I can not answer since when it comes to that screen, the screen freezes up with the error messages). So if I take the phone to Best Buy, they are going to pop in a different sim other then bell and when they see that it works, will hand me back my phone and void my warranty. So I need to have the phone in such a condition that they can not check that and yes there can be no physical or water damage either. How do I accomplish this?

View 17 Replies View RelatedI was just talking to someone about bricking mobile devices and I couldn't even think of how I could accidentally brick my own phone. Couldn't you always just go into recovery and wipe/reflash? Unless there was a way to stop you from getting into recovery but I don't see how.I'm not an expert and I've learned everything I know from reading here and on XDA so I could be missing something.

View 6 Replies View RelatedRunning Incredible with Froyo. I rooted using Unrevoked3, but I forgot to make the nandroid backup, I guess. the LCD Changer app has my reboot looping. After the very first HTC Incredible screen it goes totally white and I just hear the "Droid" voice(plays when the red droid eye comes up on screen normally" nothing but white and the voice just repeats after the screen flashes every minute or so. Tried applying the update.zip that was linked to on the developers blog, but no luck. Any ideas? I even tried resetting to factory defaults, formatted everything, basically. Lost a great of data, I'm afraid, but I just want my phone back.

It doesn't go to recovery mode anymore now!!!
First I tried to install custom Rom to root it with Odin, it did seem fine with "green pass" but didn't actually install any recovery mode (there wasn't any install option in recovery mode, there were only update options), nothing happened to phone at all and it worked normal.
Second i wiped the phone and cache and I download the firmware from Samsung website.
and after try to install, it failed in Odin:
Images 2 & 3 (attached)
I'm not sure but I think it was a wrong firmware, because I bought my phone online (kogan.com i think it is in Hongkong) and I downloaded the Australia Vodafone firmware (as I'm using Vodafone sim card).
I should mention that phone doesn't go to recovery mode, failed in Odin, Kies can not fix it! the drivers all are up to date and no Antivirus runs in my PC.
I have soft bricked my Karbonn Titanium S1. Unfortunately i didnt have the backup. I tried to solve this problem by installing stock rom but the process is getting aborted. i dont know what is wrong with the stock rom. CWM is installed successfully though.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried the MAK-DROID rom (thread) and it works great, but MAK-DROID didn't have the language pt-br (portuguese from Brazil). So I found the Aspire Rom (thread) and I give a try... and thats was a bad idea.
Now my fone even boot. It freezes on "GT-S5300 SAMSUNG" and vibrate a several times.
So, I boot on recovery and apply CWM again. On CWM I applied the MAK-DROID again, but didn't work.
After that I tried restore the my stock backup done with CWM. But even this didn't work. I received a message about EXTFS (or something like that) and impossibility of format the /system.
My final thought was try with Odin. So I follow the post #8 from MAK-DROID thread. I downlod the Odin and the S5300XXLF5 firmware. I open Odin and selected on PDA the *.tar.md5 file. But I received:
<ID:0/004> Added!!
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> S5300XXLF5_S5300BTULF1_S5300XXLF5_HOME.tar.md5 is valid.

<OSM> Leave CS..

So I tried again, this time with the pit file (S5300_coriemmc_0117.pit) on PIT option (when I select the pit file, automatically the option "Re-partition" is checked) and the *.tar.md5 file on PDA option. But I received:
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got the v711s tablet directly from china and I tried to flash it with a new firmware but I didn't took the good one. Now the touch screen doesn't work and I'm unable to reflash it to an other firmware. Also the boot manager is not responsive so no chance on this side (also I don't have volume button on the tablet).
What should be my next step? Is a hard reset via SD card available ? Is there a way to get boot manager working ?
is locked bootloader going to prevent hard brick? I want to flash some roms (stock kernel) but i am afraid of hard bricking it. There are a lot of people who say the only problem with locked bootloader could be just to soft brick it then just flash a stock rom and everything is fixed. Also what could happen if during the flash process i get a power off? NOTE: i have no recovery on my phone. My phone is Xperia Neo V -the best-

The main points that I like to enjoy is: Droid beat out the phone that beat the iPhone, and the Droid got further in the brackets than any other Android OS phone Some of the progress is due to hardware, some due to following (over the Nexus'), but a lot due to the v2.01 (and now 2.1) version of the Android OS. Also, this poll is open ALL weekend - it does not close until April 5th, so we have tons of time...but then again, so does the Palm Pre. Let's have at 'em!
Is there any other way on the X to sync FB's pictures without it syncing the other junk like their phone numbers? I've tried Syncmypix but the quality of the pictures are kinda crappy.
