On the android facebook client, artists (in my "likes" under profile) who post things end up in my feed. When I log in on my browser, they don't show under the feed (so I can't "hide" them). Is there another way to "hide" these things, or do I simply need to stop liking bands/artists who post too much?

Online, I can hide people in Facebook so I don't see people that I don't want to see. I would love to port that list to my phone so I only see the people in the Facebook app that I see on my laptop.

I like that I can get their pics, email, other phone numbers, etc. What I don't like is that my phonebook has 100 contacts from Facebook that I will never ever call. Is it possible to hide these 'crap' contacts from the phonebook while still being able to sync with my good contacts?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI finally uninstalled Home ++, as bad as it killed me to do it, I couldn't tolerate the force closes and bog down any longer. My Droid is screaming fast now, but I plan on reinstalling Home++ when the issues get worked out. One of the things I liked was the way it hid the status bar. Is there any other app or option out there to hide the status on the stock home?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI'm sure this isn't news to any of you veterans, but this is my first android device so please bare with me. I'm using the facebook app and have noticed that neither the app itself or the widget show the actual facebook live feed or provide a way to access it....
Of course my next thought was "well what if I just use the facebook page in a browser window". Turns out that's not as simple as I thought! Apparently facebook not only has a mobile page, it also has a "touch" page that it likes to route you to. Neither the mobile or the touch facebook pages have a way to access the live feed either....
With my G1 it was possible to hide apps from the drawer, but I can't remember if that was something somone enable via a ROM or a separate app. Anyone with a Droid able to leave an app installed and fully functional, but hide it so it doesn't show up in the app drawer?

The only thing that i cant figure out is how to hide all the icons in my pull up menu. I have downloaded multiple skins and the icons are all over my pull up menu and i dont need to see them. is there any way to hide them. If not i can get over it but it would be nice not to have to look at them all the time. any help would be much appreciated.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI can't figure out how to relabel the artist and song names of songs that I downloaded. Because they are all messed up with numbers and dashes instead of them being under the correct artist and album art it is just throwing a majority of them under unknown artist. Also how do you properly label a song so it shows up with the artist and song name? For instance a file all messed up says 03_Marylin_manson - Sweet dreams_mp3.mp3 when obviously I want the song labeled simply: Sweet Dreams under the artist Marylin Manson.

No, that is not what I am after, nor is that what this post is about. This is a question for theme developers... Is there anyone out there that knows how to hide the statusbar clock in FroYo? I've been poking around for the past two days trying to figure this one out on my own, but it's not going as smoothly as I would like it to be.
Most of what I've been reading points to the Services.jar file. (Specifically comandroidserverstatusStatusBarIcon.smali)... but any of the threads I've found mention changing the border. I can't find anything in the StatusBarIcon.smali file that indicates border spacing at all. Am I even on the right track here, or am I looking in completely the wrong place?
I forgot to unroot before hitting the OTA. Although I lost root in the process, I still have the SuperUser Permissions icon in my app tray. Is there a way to hide the icon without having to root and remove it manually?

Just a quick question, is there a way, with out installing a theme or Home replacement, to remove the text under the icons, so its just an icon only? also, is there a way to hide the notification area? I thought it would be cool to tap the screen once, and have the batter/time/date/notification area drop down from the top like how it is right now with the stock version, then tap the screen again and it hides the notification area. Wouldn't that be cool? Any way to do this or does something do this already?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I open my gallery to look at the actual photos I have taken, I have about 50 other "picture" folders showing up that are really music folders that just happen to have album art in them.
I DO NOT want to use the .nomedia or ".foldername" method because then my music player will not see and be able to display the album art. I just want the Gallery app to ignore pictures in the music folder. Does anyone know of a way to do this?
I use my HTC Desire as my main mp3 player, and I have several compilations on it. This means when I browse with the stock player (and the others I've tried) by Artist, I have 300 artists to flip through even though most of them only have one song on the SD card as part of a compilation. Is there a mp3 player app (or simple workaround, like renaming a folder) that will allow me to browse by Artist and see only artists/bands that only have a full album--or folder named for them? Apart from manually retagging all these comp tracks, that is.

But for some reason, when I go to look at my news feed, it returns with a [null] error and displays "No Content". I've already both rebooted the phone and cleared out the cached app data via "manage applications". Any more suggestions or is anyone else in the same boat?

I currently have HTC Hero and love how facebook and gmail contacts integrate. You can choose which contacts are linked and it doesnt merge FB people if i dont have them in GMAIL. Like the facebook photos populating the contact and access to FB albums and statuses for my gmail contacts. It works really well.
But this banter I heard on Droid X indicated the motorola ver of this social integration is not so ellegant. That it merges all facebook contacts and something about if you use backup manager it saves new contacts to the phone NOT to Gmail!
This concerns me as I love the elegance of all contacts being in GMAIL. Can someone with a droid x who perhaps came from HTC Sense explain how contact management with facebook is different? Is it "Bad"?
The Facebook app that came with the Droid is no longer working. It gives "[102/session key invalid]" The timing is around the recent Facebook update. Do I need a new app?

I do the Settings>Accounts and sync>Add Account>Facebook and all it does is go back to the add account page... I had this problem before I used JRummy's so I don't think it is the ROM... (that time I just kept hitting facebook and it eventually worked).
