I'm sure this isn't news to any of you veterans, but this is my first android device so please bare with me. I'm using the facebook app and have noticed that neither the app itself or the widget show the actual facebook live feed or provide a way to access it....
Of course my next thought was "well what if I just use the facebook page in a browser window". Turns out that's not as simple as I thought! Apparently facebook not only has a mobile page, it also has a "touch" page that it likes to route you to. Neither the mobile or the touch facebook pages have a way to access the live feed either....
I removed my facebook account because I didn't wane all of my friends in my contacts, but a few of them are still in my contacts and I can't delete them!
View 3 Replies View RelatedEvery other app I use only uses GPS when the actual app is open. Pretty irritating how Facebook has GPS always on.
Any way to change this? I opened Settings in the App, turned "Message Location service" off. That did nothing.
I don't mind Facebook using GPS, but can I change it so it only uses it while the App is actually open? LS670
Anyone know how to stop the motorla phone tools from installing automatically when you connect the phone for the first time? Also how to avoid browser pop up of verizon media manager when you connect?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone ever had this happen? Downloaded an update after the 2.1 upgrade and I sync'd my contacts with FB. It then deleted all of my contacts. So I deleted Facebook, re-stored all my contacts and reloaded Facebook. However, now it gets as far as installing and it never stops. It just stays on Installing. However, the FB app works fine on the phone itself. Is this a Market glitch? Is there anyway I can purge it from out of my downloads section?
View 2 Replies View Relatedthe only thing i really want to do is overclock. i have the helix launcher and that's fine for me. none of the other features of 2.1 are that enticing. so i just want to speed it up a bit.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI like to keep several direct dial and direct message shortcuts on my home screen, but after installing a new ROM (in this case BB 0.8), the shortcuts are gone. It's not the biggest deal, but if I could find a way to preserve them for easy restoration when I update, that'd be great.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm getting my Droid X next Friday, coming from a rooted Droid. I was thinking about rooting the DX before actually activating it by doing the Android screen corner taps; mainly because I want to install Titanium Backup using ADB, so that I can go ahead and restore all of my apps without having to wait for a Market sync, and so that I don't have to go back into each app and set them up. My question (well... more like a couple questions) is installing an app using ADB all that safe?--I read somewhere it was kind of sketchy. And would it even be safe to outright bypass activation/setup to root and do this? Thanks!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Droid using the SM Updater and am currently running sholes mod 2.05 but with everything going on between that and then I've been watching Pete's bugless beast ROM. I've decided that I would like to switch but I don't wanna unroot and then re-root my phone to do that. What I need to do to switch over?
View 18 Replies View RelatedI've been fighting this issue for the majority of the afternoon. My phone was 1-step rooted yesterday (about 4 hours after I got it from Fed Ex), but when I first had issues, I backed everything up with Titanium Backup, unrooted, and did a factory restore. The issue persisted, so I called Verizon, who pushed me over to Motorola. They don't seem to have any idea what the problem is, and unfortunately, no one around here has any in stock, so replacement isn't a viable option at the moment. So, I'm left with a couple questions:
1) Is anyone else having issues with this OTA update
2) While I didn't remove anything out of the ordinary (just what was recommended, things like the NFS, Amazon's MP3, etc.), and it appears everything has been brought back by the factory reset, could the fact it was rooted be stopping this?
3) Is there any way to manually load the update? I'm coming from a Blackberry Bold, where I was quite comfortable running leaked beta ROMs...I don't know of any way to do it any way other than OTA for this though.
im installing android adk just for rooting and rom purposes is there any specific directions for installing this..i found a guide but it really doesnt go into detail about the install process of this just says you need it

View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally decided to take the challenges of rooting my phone and so far I have more than happy with the decision. I am having a few problems where I would like your help.
Just FYI: I downloaded the 928BG theme/ROM
1) Now when I connect my phone to computer via USB, it only lets me connect vias the Charge mode...I can't access the USB storage or windows media sync or PC modes...
2) I have weather bug elite pre-installed on my phone and it gives me the current temp in black font in the taskbar. Since I downloaded the new theme, the taskbar is now black and I can't see the weather updates. I tried to switch the weather bug font to white, however when I do, the app fails to load.
3) I downloaded Titanium backup and have tried to remove some of the bloatware. I have been successful with many of the apps, however I can't remove kindle at all. If I delete the app, it still shows in application drawer.
4) I installed the Free version of ROM manager app. My question is do I have to pay for the full version to install the other ROMS such as APEX or can I install those ROMS any other ways.
I have one that I want to intall but can't seem to figure it out...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone for the first time tonight straight from the 2.2 leak to root. I downloaded all the appropriate backup apps and ROM Manager. I used ROM manager to download FlyX 0.1 Final, and selected make a backup of existing ROM and clear data/cache when the download completed. After hitting okay, the phone does not reboot into any special mode, it just simply does a normal reboot. All my settings are still fine, and the root's intact; I just don't have FlyX.

I would love to be running this theme with flyx but if you cant run a custom theme with a custom rom please let me know i am a noob at this, learning rather quickly but still need help at times.
Ok this is very simple folks. I took a trip to the root forum for some info for us common folk.
This is a LEAKED release, therefore motorola has not officially pushed it to our devices yet.
To install is easy
First download the file update.zip
update.zip
Now
1: Move update.zip to your SD card, do not put it in any folders, leave it on the root of the SD card. Do not unzip it.
2:Turn off your phone
3:Boot your phone into recovery mode. Do this by holding the home button and power button at the same time, until the motorola logo appears.
4:Use camera zoom keys to scroll down to "Apply update.zip"
5:Reboot phone

View 9 Replies View RelatedI switched back to Ultimate Droid 1.0.0 but not through nandroid. Just a start over. So for some reason I can install everything back except Angry Birds. I know that is really bad luck. Any app but angry birds. So I have tried all the ways I can think of. Through the market, downloaded from getjar and install through Astro, and I have put it in the system application folder through root explorer. Also tried installing through root explorer. And Angry Birds lite won't install either.

Going good till I got to this step 52. Choose 'Choose ROM from SD card' it says
E: No tar archives found. What do I do now?
I just got the upgrade to my system that is supposed to allow me to install Flash from the market. After it downloads, the installation fails with the message: "Package file was not signed correctly." I see comments from other Droid users that look as if theirs installed (although I am not certain that they are Motorola Droids).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just installed Flash the other day on top of my BB 0.4V and 1.1LV Chevy1 kernel. I've noticed some extreme unstableness since I did that and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing something similar. I have to reboot at least twice a day now. I get constant FC's for various programs including launcher (ADW).
Sometimes it get's stuck in this weird loop where I can't get back to the home screen. I can hit back all day long and it switches between the dialer and the browser. During this time the home button is non-responsive. I usually have to reboot but sometimes going to standby (tap the power button) and coming back out it resolves itself as well. I've also had major headaches with screen rotation going haywire.
I'm about a hairs width away from dropping back to my last nandroid backup and forgetting flash ever existed if it's going to be this crappy. I seems to be not ready for release or maybe rushed to release (Adobe rushing releases? Never! haha).
Has anyone else observed similar behavior since installing flash? It doesn't matter what ROM, I'm just looking for any kind of pattern that I can point back at Adobe (not a fan - can you tell?).
Does anyone have a procedure for installing sprecovery/nandroid on a rooted droid x?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've rooted and flashed CyanogenMod 6.0 onto my Droid. I went slow; it took me a while and lots of careful reading on this forum. I used ROM Manager to flash and I'd like to continue using it to install themes. Is that a good idea? Is it always necessary (or recommended) to wipe all when flashing new themes?
View 9 Replies View RelatedNeed some help, please....I used ROM Manager to download Cyanogen, backed up my Ultimate Droid V8, then installed Cyanogen. Did not wipe data. When the ROM loaded, there was no Droid virtual keyboard in any of my apps. But Cyanogen looks cool and I'd like to give it another try. If I wipe my data, does that mean I have to reinstall all my apps? If I wipe my data, will it still appear if I restore my backed-up ROMs?
