View 29 RepliesI changed the voice mail number from *86 (version default) to my Google voice number. This works when I am not answering the phone and I the caller gets connected to my GV account. But when my phone is not in coverage the caller gets my version voice mail. Appreciate if someone can correct my settings or suggest any app that does it. I am from Windows mobile world and missing those settings when you can define several settings for voice mail (unanswered, rejected, unavailable etc...)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Cyanogenmod 6. I just noticed that I can't find Google voice or Google maps in the market. I do have the apps installed, but can't see them int he market to get updates. I tried out LFY1.7 and Ultimate Droid 1.0.0, and see the same issue.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of purchasing my first android phone. I currently have a google voice number/account. I would like MMS and simple number support for messaging. From my understanding google voice does not support that. I did read about an application called iTim for the iphone which allows you to use MMS through google voice. Is there any such product for the Android? Having SMS/texting through google voice would save $30/month on my cell phone bill, so it's kind of a big deal.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince my update on my Motorola Droid I have not been able to use my google voice(strange I know)...I tried to look up any other postings on this but couldnt find any...I even tried to uninstall and re-install and i keep getting the same message that "my phone number could not be verified".
View 4 Replies View RelatedWell to start things off, I had my iPod touch 1st gen. stolen out of my car, and finding out that the cable I use to play music over my Alpine headunit will not work with my newly acquired iPod touch 2nd gen. has prompted me to look into other ways to have all my music with me in my car as well as be able to play it over my stereo.I found this lovely little A2DP receiver online very cheap:All in all, this has cost me less than an iPod cable that would work with the newer iPod I have, and makes everything much simpler, reducing the number of devices I carry. Hopefully this helps someone, I am curious to see what the audio quality for A2DP is while streaming music from the DROID,
View 48 Replies View Relatedso I just tried out our music player this evening. Among many other things, I have to say this thing is AWESOME. Yes, I agree, the user interface could use some work. However, the sound is MUCH better than my ipod touch. I use my ipod for music and this monster for everything else. Well, my battery in the ipod died so I put the same earbuds in the Droid and was amazed at the sound.Must say that I am constantly amazed with this thing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWith all the "froyo isn't working" or "froyo isn't installing" or glitch issues or whatever, i thought id start a thread about how it is working and my favorite features. I'm just updating to the newest leak, but froyo is awesome. When i first installed (CW) i lost root... i did another android and it has worked fine. I love BB but this base ROM is so fast, stable and fantastic... Ive had 2 FC's in 3 days, and no issues. Ive updated to the new baseband and it helped my signal issues... I'm running team chaos theme and i LOVE the black and white combo. I'm Daniel and Froyo is working great for me.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got a update on my android market. Any ideas what the update includes/changes? I tried searching for the update change list to no avail.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was notified today of a Google Voice Update, version 0.2.8. I installed it and don't see any changes, but hopefully they fixed the issue of it automatically sending "double text messages" in certain situations.
View 26 Replies View RelatedThe second video posted that shows the droid running 2.1 shows what seems to be a google voice update. The icon looks nicer to fit the 2.0/2.1 icons and it now says "Voice" instead of "Google Voice." This would be a welcomed change if so!
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got a Google Voice invite (Thanks DrDroid!) and have completed setting it up with my existing number. Went through the verification process and dialed the * number from my phone and everything went well. Got my welcome messages and all. Problem is though when I call myself and voicemail picks up, It just says "We are having trouble completing your call. Enter the phone number you are trying to reach".
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two google voice accounts. On the first one, I did not choose a Google number, I ported my Verizon number instead. On the second one, I chose a Google number to get maximum benefits from it. So, the question is, if I give my Google number to some people (business associates), and give my Verizon number to others (family, friends, etc.), can I still receive calls and texts to both numbers on the same phone?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just changed my google voice number to a google number today from the random number I had before. But now I can't call it from any 216 area code. This creates a problem because my phone is a 216 area code. So I can't call my own voicemail - It just says the number cannot be completed as dialed. When I call from a different area code it's fine. No contact groups or anything are blocked and I can call out. I'm stock and haven't rooted or anything.
View 22 Replies View RelatedI have a google voice number and I have the friends and family plan on verizon. I currently have my google voice number on my friends and family plan. Do all calls that go through my google voice number count as friends and family? Also, I currently do not have google voice set up to make calls. If I were to set it up that way, would that mean that all my outgoing calls would also be counted as friends and family?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI don't know if its coincidence but i just bought the motorola extended battery and my phone seems to be lagging alot with google voice and just seems a little unstable overall. Been loving my x but has been letting me down since the new battery, though i love the battery life with it. Guess i need to try the old battery again and see if it improves.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for ways to reduce my phone bill, and ideally I would get rid of my unlimited text plan. Yet, I have heard that SMS messages sent through GV aren't as speedy or reliable as those sent through your carrier. I've read that it often takes up to 5 minutes to receive a text message after one is sent to you. If I'm in the middle of a "texting conversation" I don't want to have to wait 5 minutes to receive a reply to one of my texts.. Is this true? Or does Google Voice SMS work like a charm and I should just drop my $20 a month text plan?
View 11 Replies View Relatedthere is an Dialer app to use for Google Voice only?
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs there any way I can use Google Voice SMS through Handcent, the stock SMS client, or any other client? Also, I noticed that my Voice sms's are coming in much later than on my other device (iphone with textnow routing google voice messages). Is there any reason for that? I would think the Droid would be faster since it is integrated with voice.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive an SMS from Google Voice, I always get a duplicate SMS notification (from a 406 no.) in my notification bar.Is there a way to disable this? It's not a huge hassle, just a minor inconvenience.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use Google Voice as my main phone service. When I try to make a call, it says "connecting." sometimes for like 5 good minutes. Then suddenly it connects me.
View 20 Replies View RelatedI have google voice set up to make all calls. But whenever I call out, I call out using the phone's number, and not my google voice number. I've tried looking through all the settings on both the app and the desktop version and have not found anything that works. I still get my SMS through the app, so the service is working. I just can't get it to call out using my google voice number, and this was automatic on my incredible
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to keep Google Voice 3.4 b/c it uses one number for all my calls (which = free with Verizon's friends and family) instead of 4.x using different static numbers. How can I stop it from updating?I keep deleting the 4.x .apk via Root Explorer and installing the 3.4 apk, but it's a pain.
