Motorola Droid :: E-signiture Invalid - Upload Aborted
Nov 18, 2010
Trying to root my Droid original 2.2 froyo brg22d. Using RDS lite, did everything up to the part where I need to install the root file after recovery mode but whhen I do that it says "E-SIGNITURE INVALID, INSTALL ABORTED" wtf is that? And where can I find a rooted file that'll work?
X+power didn't bring it to recovery mode.... I had to hold the volume up+camera button when i get the exclamation mark. Just to give ya an idea on what kind of Droid I'm working with.

I'm having trouble uploading pictures I've taken on my DX to facebook through the "Quick Upload" option.I got a few uploaded, so I know it works, but now everytime I try, the status bad fills up all the way to "Uploading 100%" then it stalls before giving me the error "Can't send response now.Try again later."I've tried turning Wi-Fi on or off, but on both Wi-Fi and 3G it's not working.Thoughts?

I have my phone rooted and have unofficial 2.1 installed on it. This morning I got an OTA update for the official 2.1. When I went to run it, it said update/installation aborted. Can anyone help me with I need to do in order to get the official 2.1 installed on my Droid?

My phone is rooted and running 2.2 via download. Froyo is great but I have been waiting for the Flash update like everyone else.
Got the notice this morning on my phone that an OTA update was ready to install and asked if I wanted to proceed. Unit was fully charged and connected via WiFi.
Clicked "proceed" and the phone rebooted. On startup, it went to the boot screen that I used in the root process, and the bottom line said something like "upgrade aborted." Clicked reboot to get the phone usable and see what's what.
Now Settings>About Phone says Android 2.2, Build number FRG01B by Pete. The only "update.zip" file on the SD card is one from the root process. "System updates" says "Your system is currently up to date."
Looks like nothing happened.
Has rooting my phone precluded the possibility of an OTA update?
(If I had known that rooting my phone would prevent OTA updates I would not have done it.)
How can I get the OTA update to run? Where are the update files loaded? What do I do now?

My first Droid had problems with basic applications such as the Messaging and Phone apps resetting, so I exchanged it. Everything seemed great with the new phone, until I woke up one morning to see a screen stating that too many incorrect patterns had been attempted, and I should reset the phone by entering my Google account information. However, upon entering my information, I immediately received a message "Invalid username or password." There was no apparent attempt to even validate the information. Anyhow, I returned to the Verizon store and after the representative researched for half an hour or so, he decided to factory reset the phone. Now, this would not have been a problem, except that I purposely entered an incorrect pattern five times afterwards, to get to the "Forgot pattern" screen, and as I had suspected, it refused to accept my information. I was wondering whether this would be valid grounds to exchange my phone once again. I'm not content with having to completely erase everything on my device each time my phone gets into somebody else's hands.

I currently running Smoked Glass V6.0.1. I tried updated my google maps to 4.1.1 and I get a invalid signature. According to google mobile help forums I am receiving this error because my build number doesn't match specific build numbers their application is designed to work with.
Has anyone else experience this problem?

This may seem like a dumb question, but I wondered if there was Flickr integration with the Droid X gallery, or whether you need a separate app to upload your photos to Flickr? There are already a bunch of these in the Market. I ask because I remember reading/seeing somewhere that Flicker wasn't included as an option for syncing or uploading, just things like Photobucket, Picasa, etc.The HTC Incredible I have now does upload to Flickr happily (even though it doesn't offer much flexibility), and it'd be no big deal if the Droid X doesn't do it without an extra app, but I thought I'd ask those who already have the phone just in case.

Has anyone figured out how to upload a video from the Droid to Facebook? I downloaded the Ustream Broadcast app. It says it can upload directly to Facebook, but when I went on their site to configure my settings, the Facebook link had a javascript error in IE, so I tried Firefox, but that didn't work either. Capturing the video with Ustream worked nice and had the option to upload to Facebook, but I just couldn't get it to work.

I want to get EA games' NFS, but the file is 100MB. I've moved every non-system app I have to my SD card via Titanium, and I still only have 54MB free on the phone.
Could I back up my current ROM, install a new ROM, download the app, move it to SD using Titanium, copy the files on to my laptop, revert back to my current ROM, and copy the files back onto the SD? (I wouldn't know where to look for all of the files.)

If I take a photo and email it to myself or copy it over USB, then upload it to Picasa via the PC, the latitude + longitude show up just fine. But if I instead upload it directly to Picasa from the Media Gallery app, the GPS coordinates are inexplicably removed. The files are otherwise identical, same file size, same resolution.

I have a 2 minute 720P video taken with the droidx that i am trying to upload to my youtube account. The video is 140mb in size. i get the following message when I try to upload the video to youtube via the share option in Gallery "You can not upload a video larger than 1GB".
I get this message if I'm connected to wifi or not. The video is only 140mb in size!
Any one else getting this message?
I was getting this message prior to upgrading to 2.2 and was hoping that the 2.2 would fix it, but it didn't.

If anyone can upload the stock services.jar and stock framework-res.apk from their 2.1 Droid X (it's in the /system/framework folder), I will be forever in your debt. I (stupidly) overwrote mine when installing a theme and now I can't update to 2.2 with my modified files. I know I can flash the .sbf, but I am trying to avoid that.

I apologize if this was already addressed. I received the 2.2 update last week and liked everything so far. This morning i snapped an image of 42nd St-Time Square and I tried to upload to facebook. To my surprise, the option to unload directly to fb is NOT there...WTH? I did notice that the fb app for android has a little camera icon to take a picture.
