Milestone multitouch browser ported to the Droid by a user-made patch (video) -- Engadget
I'm having trouble uploading pictures I've taken on my DX to facebook through the "Quick Upload" option.I got a few uploaded, so I know it works, but now everytime I try, the status bad fills up all the way to "Uploading 100%" then it stalls before giving me the error "Can't send response now.Try again later."I've tried turning Wi-Fi on or off, but on both Wi-Fi and 3G it's not working.Thoughts?

View 9 Replies View RelatedWith the Droid's 2.1 update, it will be getting multitouch in the browser. So I'm assuming that stock Android browsers will be getting multitouch from 2.1 on forward. I've always been under the impression that the purpose of the Sense browser was to incorporate multitouch that was previously missing in older versions of Android.
With 2.1 coming to our Heros, do you think the new Hero's will just use stock browser? If not, will there be any way to GET the stock browser on the Hero? I honestly think I would like the stock browser better, because I hate the "text autoflow" on the Sense browser. Everytime I zoom, it text-autoflows, and throws me onto some random place on the screen! Plus it makes the browser slower.
Spent 2 weeks poking around Android SDKs and sacrificed last two weekends and finally managed to get a relatively stable version today. Named 'xScope', I did put a $2.99 price tag tough if you please excuse me. I need to buy a bird for this thanksgiving and wife kept bashing my development effort for not doing any housework in the past weeks. The browser is not full blown but works great for simple surfing.
View 49 Replies View RelatedHtc Hero is supposed to be a multi touch device, you can pinch to zoom in browser and in photo viewer, the thing that I can't understand is why all other applications don't support multitouch.
For example I downloaded snesoid and nesoid and there is written in the options that my firmware (1.5) doesnt' support multitouch, making it impossible to play games.
So is HTC hero with 1.5 really multitouch or not? And will I be able to use multitouch in emulators and other apps downloaded from the market when the 2.1 will come out?
I had dolphin installed to check out MT, but really never liked it. As soon as the MT update was installed on my phone, I removed dolphin. Then I noticed that my regular browser was no longer multitouch. As soon as I installed dolphin again, multitouch returned to the stock browser. So to me it looks like dolphin was installing the same MT files that the stock browser now uses, and when it uninstalls, it removes those files. Looks like this may be something dolphin needs to update for. Can anyone else try this out and confirm it for me?
I am thinking maybe I can uninstall dolphin, then reflash the update, but I am not sure if this will cause a problem, can I just reinstall and update on top of an update?
Just listened to the Engadget podcast and they said that this device has no multi touch functionality period out of the box. Even the software keyboard does not have it according to them. I need to know if this is real or not it is really bothering me right now. The main reason it is bothering me is because if you go on the VZW Droid Does website in all the features right between turn by turn nav and GTAlk you will see that multitouch is advertised right there. Why would they advertise it if the device does not support it?

Looks like someone over at XDA's got this ported. Already confirmed to be incompatible with Froyo, but I'm sure there are plenty of people running 2.1 that want to give this a try.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried better keyboard but it isn't multi touch i was wondering if there is a 3rd party keyboard similar to the stock keyboard that supports multi touch. Coming from iphone it would greatly help my on screen keyboard usage, as the hardware keyboard is awful IMHO.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had assumed that the Motorola Droid supports the new multitouch APIs in Android 2.0, but the reviews of the device I've seen so far say that it isn't used, at least in the built-in apps like the browser (e.g: http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/30/motorola-droid-review/ ). Apparently though, it is supported on the upcoming GSM version of the same handset [url], so perhaps it is just an issue of whether the driver is included on the Droid version of the software. Can anyone with access to a Droid confirm whether the multitouch API works on it?

Exclusive: Motorola Droid X preview -- Engadget
Does anyone know if this device will EVER get MT on the soft boards? I have read elsewhere in the forum of people swearing it has it, but it just isn't true. What's the point of it being capable of it when the function that needs it most is lacking it?

Both AIR 2 and Flash Player 10.1 support multitouch and gesture-based applications on touch screen devices. The beta releases are available as free downloads from Adobe Labs. Flash Player 10.1 runs on Windows, Macintosh, and Linux desktop platforms and x86-based netbooks. Devices supported include Android, Windows Mobile, Palm webOS, and Symbian S60.
Well, now that the Droid has been rooted, I assume it is now possible to enable multitouch, correct? If this is the case, how would I go about doing this and would it be system wide?

Heres a link to the .apk file, if you dont have it. It works with 2.1, but not 2.2 (force close every 5 seconds)
If someone could edit this to make it work thatd be amazing.
When I choose to reply to an email(or anytime I use the keyboard), Espanol appears in the Spacebar position. Yes, the spacebar still works but the the suggested words appear in Spanish as I key letters in. I checked and rechecked English in the Language/Keyboard option in Settings but it will not go back to English. This started a few days ago and I do not know why?
