Motorola Droid :: Did New Baseband Mess Up My Temps?
Mar 31, 2010
I updated baseband using recovery and everything went well. Afterwords, it appears to be messing with my temps. Previous to update SetCpu would consistently show temps in the 20's. Now it is almost always @ 30 or above. But Tempmonitor shows differently. Here are some pics. Any Ideas?

My wife owns the Droid INC. And I have been stuck with a crappy BBcurve with worse network (nextel) for well over a year and a half. I am fed up.. I had my mind set on getting the Droid INC...My wife got hers on release date her phone is awesome and I have spent many hours using it. Today went to the local VZ store and the manager went to the back and got a droid X for me to look and and mess with. As some people have reported the phone done not feel as big as it is.. I was holding my wife's Inc in one hand and the X in the other. I don't know if its the way the phone is made or what but they almost felt the same size. It seems like the X is skinner other then the Hump. And as others have reported the Hump is not noticeable at all unless your looking for it. It is much slighter then the photos suggest.
Quality is not even close between the X and the INC even my wife said that her phone feels Cheap. The quality of the X blows the INC out of the water. Its like holding a cheap plastic toy compared to high tech piece of equipment (almost cant explain it) The UI on the X (moto blur) is nice and FAST the screens and the touch screen is super responsive seems better then the INC. But there is still something about the (SENSE UI) that I like better don't know what it is maybe its the widgets have more color or its that clock on the home screen. If that can be changed with the droid X then I would have the prefect phone. (On the INC I really like the pinch out from the home screen then pick the one you want to go too. Not a fan of the dots on the moto blur deal)The buttons at the bottom of the phone are awesome they are recessed perfect as to not get in the way but easy to touch when needed.

I was hoping for folder/subfolder style navigation... instead, it's just a mess of subfolders with no hierarchy or structure at all.

Just installed sholes 2.0.6 and temp monitor for my cpu temp. I am fairly new to the overclocking world and don't want to mess anything up. What are some good temps to be seeing running at 1 Ghz and at what temp should I stop what I'm doing and let things cool down?

I'm not a very sweaty person, but its august and I use my phone out side alot. Well any time I get a little bit of sweat on it the touch screen goes haywire, ie the lock screen bar just twitches. And after it unlocks it the home screens twitch back and forth. any body suggest some thing other then a blue tooth, for this problem? oh and anyone else having this issue. I'm using the verizon anti glare screen protectors.

I have the paid Weatherbug app and live in Austin, Texas. The value reported by weatherunderground, weather.com, my car, as well as those drive-by LED billboards, tend to be within a couple of degrees of each other (usually 1-2 at max).
Weatherbug however (and correspondingly the Weatherbug site) tend to report temperatures 4-6 degrees lower. I understand that temperatures can vary across a metropolitan area, but 4-6 degrees?
I realize it's their data collection source rather than the phone app itself, otherwise their website wouldn't agree with the phone, which would be an app problem. I also realize it might be geographically isolated, but it's certainly consistently wrong at both my home and my job (26 miles apart, on opposite ends of town).
It would be nit-picking, except for the fact that it's a paid app, and I already dislike their radar/map. This is one paid app I wish I'd skipped.

TempMon is reporting 107 F + while streaming. That's battery temp, of course.CPU is significantly hotter than that.I've tried clocks from 700 up to 1100 and can't get it any cooler.at 700 its barely responsive enough to be functional.at 1200 it reboots.

I got sholes from the market last night and i absolutely LOVE it. I just have a few questions about my OC profile and a temp monitor
Right now my profile is set to
Charging:
Max 1
min 250
Sleep/Standby:
Max 550
Min 125
Power <100%
Max 800
Min 250
Failsafe
Max 550
Min 125
Do those look ok? Also what program works with Sholes to monitor battery and CPU temps?

with all the baseband's out right now, and all the questions as which one to run, perhaps it would be a good idea to post which one you are using, have used and your findings. i am on 01.43.01p. it has the fastest 3g speeds for me. i tried 01.41.00r but didnt get as good of a reception.

I'm on NexFro v1.0 baseband C_01.43.01P (2nd froyo baseband leak) now and my signal is bad. Can I downgrade to C_01.41.01P (1st froyo baseband leak)? Everything was ok with C_01.41.01P. Or do I downgrade to the one before that? What should I do and how should I do whatever it is I need to do.

I am running Nexbeast 1.1 so not a Froyo ROM, but I did update to the latest baseband via Pete's install on the ROM manager. Everything works great and my signal is usually 3-4 bars everywhere so it is a small improvement there.... However, I've noticed that my downloads have slowed dramatically. I used to get around 1.25Mb down or at least routinely over 1Mb, but now it's barelly 500-600k each time. I'm in different areas of town and it's not any better. Has anyone noticed this problem? The other thing is if I wanted to revert to the previous baseband (not the 3E.03P but rather 3E.01P, I believe) where do I get the file?

UPDATE - The file can now be found here:

OP
-----------------------------
That's right folks,
This was the goodie that I wanted from the OTA update the most, and now, thanks to t3hSteve at Alldroid, it is available to us in update.zip form. Confirmed success with Clockwork recovery, and I have done it as well with SPRecovery 0.99.3b.
You WILL be prompted to reactivate your phone, and also, re-enter your Google password.
Link:
Baseband results anyone? Bueller?
Screenshot:
Additionally, I would suggest you reenter your programming menu (dial ##PROGRAM) to change your vocode to EVRC-B.
The SPC password is 000000
