View 2 RepliesI root all my phones for various reasons, and have flashed ROM's before on the original Droid. On that device there were clear reasons to flash ROM's and since the community was ginormous, there was lots of information about the stability of various ROM's. So I'm new to the DroidX and wondering if there are any stable ROM's out that might be worth loading up (for fun and for performance boosts - not necessarily speed). I use my phone as a primary phone for work and home, so it has to be stable.
View 7 Replies View RelatedNow that it looks like the 2.2 SBF is online, how many people who are running leaks are going to upgrade to the 2.2 OTA that supposedly include an updated bootloader/kernel/radio? For those who did already, do you see any differences at all? Moto made some claims that the new one was better (i.e. that switching between wifi and 3g would be more seamless), but have people noticed differences? I guess I held out on upgrading to OTA because of the no SBF and the whole episode of the unlocked bootloader, but now should I consider upgrading? Would I lose any advantages of staying on the old boot loader?
View 7 Replies View Relatedwith all the baseband's out right now, and all the questions as which one to run, perhaps it would be a good idea to post which one you are using, have used and your findings. i am on 01.43.01p. it has the fastest 3g speeds for me. i tried 01.41.00r but didnt get as good of a reception.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm on NexFro v1.0 baseband C_01.43.01P (2nd froyo baseband leak) now and my signal is bad. Can I downgrade to C_01.41.01P (1st froyo baseband leak)? Everything was ok with C_01.41.01P. Or do I downgrade to the one before that? What should I do and how should I do whatever it is I need to do.

View 49 Replies View RelatedI am running Nexbeast 1.1 so not a Froyo ROM, but I did update to the latest baseband via Pete's install on the ROM manager. Everything works great and my signal is usually 3-4 bars everywhere so it is a small improvement there.... However, I've noticed that my downloads have slowed dramatically. I used to get around 1.25Mb down or at least routinely over 1Mb, but now it's barelly 500-600k each time. I'm in different areas of town and it's not any better. Has anyone noticed this problem? The other thing is if I wanted to revert to the previous baseband (not the 3E.03P but rather 3E.01P, I believe) where do I get the file?

That's right folks,
This was the goodie that I wanted from the OTA update the most, and now, thanks to t3hSteve at Alldroid, it is available to us in update.zip form. Confirmed success with Clockwork recovery, and I have done it as well with SPRecovery 0.99.3b.
You WILL be prompted to reactivate your phone, and also, re-enter your Google password.

Additionally, I would suggest you reenter your programming menu (dial ##PROGRAM) to change your vocode to EVRC-B.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI updated baseband using recovery and everything went well. Afterwords, it appears to be messing with my temps. Previous to update SetCpu would consistently show temps in the 20's. Now it is almost always @ 30 or above. But Tempmonitor shows differently. Here are some pics. Any Ideas?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm currently running RubiX Focused 1.0 on top of the leaked 2.3.15. I was thinking of SBF'ing to the 2.2 OTA to get the updated Radio and Baseband. My question is this, once I SBF, root and install Bootstrap, can I then Nandroid back to my RubiX?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI had bought an X off craigslist where the guy had updated to the leaked 2.2 build. i wanted to go back to stock 2.1 and i want to confirm i was successful. i was in the infinite boot loop by the way.
Anyways, here are my stats:
System version: Version.1.13.604.MB810.Verizon.en.US
firmware: 2.1-update1
baseband: BP_C_01.09.04P
Kernel: 2.6.29 w30471@il93lnxdroid08 #1
Build number: VZW
ERI version: 5
PRL version: 51926
So am i bone stock or did i mess something up?
Might someone on the official 2.2 OTA look at what their baseband and kernel version is and post it here. I just updated but want to confirm that I got the full update and not just the system files.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was looking at the OTA ZIP file from VZW and noticed some BIN and IMG files. I'm guessing that it bootloader and baseband images. Is there a way that I can swap out those files with a nicer bootloader? Basicly what I want is stock OTA 2.2 with 29.01 or 30.01 bootloader but I want the new baseband with the update. Can I do this or does it just fail because of signatures, checksums, or some other crap I can't think of?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI was running NexFro 1.01 but due to alot of buggyness on my phone I had to abandon it and go back to NextBeastvs 1.1 on firmware 2.1.
After which my reception went to hell even after I did a *228,2. So I tried to install the baseband update .43.01 from the link located here:
http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-droid/121527-what-baseband-everyone.html
However it just error's out when I try to install from the SD card using lockwork, says Installation aborted.
Does this baseband only work for 2.2? If so what is the best one for firmware 2.1?
I'm on C_01.3B.01p
could this be causing my bad battery?
I'm currently using BBv.4 on my rooted Droid1 and I am still using the old baseband that came on the original stock ota 2.1 update1. I am always looking for ways to get more battery life out of my phone and that got me thinking. Technically I'm new to the whole smartphone scene and didn't get the whole hype about it until I got my Droid back in Dec. And since then have spent many hours learning about linux and researching the Android OS. Eventually I'm going to get into application development and coding. Everything I know is from research and trial and error on my Droid. The question I have is concerning the possible link between decreased battery life and the new baseband that is being pushed with the official Froyo ota update. I have not updated to an official 2.2 version so I can't compare the battery life between the two myself so I'm wondering if any of the more knowledgeable members of the forum ( you know who you guys are, lol) can help me out with this. The reason it is eating at me is because on Petes website there is a post on the forum about updating the baseband to the current version being used by Verizon instead of the one that was out in june with the same number. In the post it states the binary code is slightly different in the newer version. Could it be that something in the new version is effecting the battery life? Also, what is the downside of not updating my baseband if everything seems to be working properly. Sorry for such a long post but my mind is hungry for knowledge.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that lately, my download speeds on my rooted Droid (running BB 0.5 most recently, though this "problem" occurred with BB 0.4 and LFY 1.6 as well) have not been stellar, though my upload speeds seem fine:
Could this be caused by the baseband? Im running C_01.43.01P. Prior to that, I was running (I think) 3E, which came with the phone, and worked fine with BB 0.4 but when the updated one came out I updated it since, hey, it's newer right? Anyway, (1) is this certainly the problem? and (2) if I choose to, how can I safely roll back to the 3E baseband?
So Google finally invited me to sign up for google voice and i'm not really sure how i feel. What advantages does it have over verizon? Do i have to pay to use it?
