I have noticed a hissing noise when I play any music/videos via any earphones, this happens when volume is below half way and audio effects is turned on. any solutions?

This is particularly noticeable on the small in ear headphones/earbuds during quiet portions of music, or if you have music playing and turn the volume down to zero, and for a short time after pausing music (until the audio jack is powered down. Is anyone else having these issues? Can anyone confirm that some phones do not have this issue?
I love the phone but this is almost a dealbreaker for me as it somewhat kills the whole idea of not needing a separate music player, though it can be somewhat worked around by headphones with online volume controls, decreasing volume by about half and boosting iron the phone.
I hear a hissing noise in the background when using the handset to answer or make calls. Anyone else experience this?

I had a bunch of music saved on my SD Card that I downloaded from VZW Music Media thing.
When I go to music on the Incredible and go over the song (it shows the picture of the album of the song)
it says "unable to play this type of audio"
I'm looking for a free app to allow me to play videos in the background. I tried 'Pvstar' but had a glitch with it where it stopped working.
I'm using a HTC one, so there are no issues with processing power.
I'm hoping someone here with some AV knowledge can give me something to try. When I've got my Incredible hooked up to my car stereo via the 3.5mm jack, and have the car charger plugged in, there is a noticeable but intermittent high pitched hiss that comes out of the speakers. If I unplug the car charger it goes away immediately.
I've tried with the volume on the Incredible set at quiet/medium/loud levels and that doesn't seem to make any difference. My guess is that there is resonance from the power cable being picked up by the audio cable, but I've tried moving them around and it doesn't seem to help.
I just noticed a very unpleasant thing about the wildfire - while listening to music (or when playing any other sound), I can hear subtle hissing in the background. It is almost unnoticeable when I'm outdoors and there's noise outside, but it prevents me from listening more quiet music like jazz at home.
Can anything be done about it? Do you people also hear that (you have to be in complete silence and use decent headphones - the hissing is easy to notice as it disappears after 2 or 3 seconds after you pause music). I was so happy about my wildfire - I have 16gb sdcard so I thought it would make a great mp3 player.

The video itself is in raw directory. When the application starts I can hear the video's sound but no image is displayed. I've tried using 1.5, 2.0 and 2.1, same thing. I've tried this with different videos, tried converting them using ffmpegX and "Videora Android Converter", nothing helps.
I connected my phone via USB to my RR sport to upload audio files to the RR hard drive. However, I keep getting connection error. Apparently my device is not being recognized as a storage. I did the unmount thinking. Also, I am wondering how I can play audio from my phone through the RR audio system.
RR is 2010.
I have an LG ally and I connect my bluetooth. It's connecting to media audio and I can hear music videos, you tube and my visual VM but not the people I call.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo i didn't put any unofficial software,in other words,everything is as it came out of the store (except lots of apps ofc. the problem is that i doesn't play any sound when i want to play music,or with some app (without headphones,when i have them then it's normal) but when someone calls me or i set an alarm then it plays perfectly normal so i'm confused...it's obvious that speaker is not broken.

I have a friend at work who has a cheapie smartphone running vanilla Android and whenever he has his phone playing on the dock his lockscreen displays the audio levels behind the password prompt.
Audiophiles, I don't know the correct term for it, but it's all those little lines that go up for each frequency range. The treble side is on the left, bass is on the right.The background is black, the levels thing is a light blue-ish color.
I know he uses Play Music and he has a Pattern Lock, but so far I haven't been able to replicate it on my phone.My phone is a Galaxy S4 with 4.4.2 and the latest Play Music, swipe unlock, and a static picture as the background.I see no options for the levels thing in Play Music nor in my lockscreen settings.Is this something only in vanilla Android that Samsung tossed out?I think it looks really cool; better than the square album artwork awkwardly cropped to fit a rectangular screen.
If this is something vanilla only, are there any good free equivalents in the Play Store you'd recommend?How about compatibility with Rocket Player?
I have an HTC incredible and have tried everything to put music on it, the most recent program i am using is tunesync, which works great. However, whenever i transfer music i always get the message "unable to play this type of audio file" I have tried everything from making the files all mp3 format to using different programs to do the sync, but nothing will work.

The thing is, once the songs are on my phone, they will not play through my earphones but through the speakers instead. It does that only with the songs purchased on iTunes. In my car, iTunes songs play through the car speakers but at a very low volume, even if both the volume in the car and on the phone are at max. Now what to do?

I got my app to record an play back but I am stuck an not sure where do go from here. I have been Googling for days now trying to find a open source audio library or some way to change the audio after I record it. I currently have it setup to play back using SoundPool an I't lets me speed up an slow down the audio. I would like to do things like change pitch an add echo etc. I will appreciate any responses because I am totally stumped right now.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am getting the following error when I try to play some song using the standard "Music" App: "sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file" So far I have only had this happen on .ogg files. I can play some .ogg files with no problem but other will not play. Often there is one I can play and one I can't from the same album which I ripped from my CD in the same ripping session so the encoding parameters should be the same. Another weird thing is that I sometime can succeed in playing a song by finding it in OI File Manager and selecting it there. OI File Manager opens in in the "Music" App and it plays not problem, but I cannot open it from within "Music" App!

It seems like when I use voice dialer, I say "Call Home" and a list of options pops up of who to call (one choice being Home) (When I wish it would have just automatically called Home), but if I use voice search it automatically does call Home.
i have a European unlocked milestone so it doesn't have youtube app but when i go into the website and press play it just refresh the page..
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having a spot of trouble trying out the ViPER4Android DSP plugin on my phone. While I have the corresponding apps and drivers installed, I'm unable to enable the DSP effect owing to fact that there is no "Music Effects" option in the Sound settings menu.
Is there some way to restore this option to the menu? I'm using an AOSP-based stock 4.0.4 ROM on my Huawei Ascend G600. Perhaps it can be done through the terminal/shell scripts or an init.d script?
I've used Handbrake as recommended in this helpful thread (Put Videos on Droid) to convert .avi files to .mp4. I got a "Sorry, this video cannot be played" when I try to play it on my Droid.I also tried downloading an .mp4 file from a YouTube video (as converted by file2hd.com). But I still get that error message.I know this topic has come up before and it usually seems to be the way that the file was converted rather than some kind of setting on the Droid. What else should I try?
View 9 Replies View RelatedHere's one that is going to confuse you all.My Milestone has taken to playing music by itself at random.It's not an alarm. It's not the music player being started either! At 0832 one day, music started blasting out while it was in the dock. Another time, it began when I removed headphones after watching a video (and returning to the home screen). Once it has started when I disconnected a Bluetooth car kit. I can adjust the volume but nothing else! I have to open the music player, and then it shows the music as paused - but it's still playing. To stop it, I must press play, then stop/pause again. And then it stops. It's happening maybe once every day or two, and is incredibly annoying. I just can't figure out what might be causing it. It MUST be an app that I've got running or have installed, but which one? Has ANYONE else had a similar problem, perhaps that they thought was just a one off glitch?
View 49 Replies View RelatedHaven't been around these parts in awhile, but news of the update brought me back. I have a question about an issue I've had since day 1, but always just kind of accepted. When I listen with headphones to podcasts, music, etc. I get weird signal noise. It's most noticeable when listening to podcasts/talk as there is lots of room to hear the noise on the line. It's like low little hums, "chirps," not totally sure how to describe it. Just not a clean, clear silence when there should be silence. I've used different headphones, definitely not anything there. I'm wondering if this is a known issue, a problem with some handsets, fixable, etc.?
