Has anyone found a way to automatically change the volume settings when plugged into the media dock? I hate getting notifications of every email while I am asleep but I still need to get phone calls and text messages for work. On my Blackberry I could change my preset volume settings by pushing one button. So far on the Droid I have not figured it out yet.

Three Droids in the family, had for approx 1 month, with no real battery problems other than drain with GPS use. Battery usage extremely predictable. Until yesterday. Day before yesterday, wife's phone reported battery charge of ~30% after being on media dock charger all night. Figured it was a connection glitch of some kind. Happened again today, then while I was looking at the phone, battery went from ~20% to 100%. Now seemed more like a status reading problem. Picked up my phone from its media dock - a different one - and surprise surprise, it too was reading ~30% after being on dock charging all night.
(Yes, we have power and the docks are plugged in.) Powering down phone doesn't reset status, still reads ~30%.
On one page of my app there are sounds. Is there a line of code to allow the volume up/down buttons to switch to media volume control for that page of the app only? Or do I need to set it for the entire app, and how do I do that?

I use the media dock as a car dock. How do I un install the media dock app? I do not want it switching when docked (not even to the car dock, if there was a way to reverse them).

First problem is that when I hit the picture button I only get 1 picture?? I touch the screen and it does not even show arrows to scroll? I actually thought it would do a little slide show when you hit the picture button? When I hit the menu button all I get is the "share" option. Also my hard case I got from Verizon does not fit in the dock unless you take the back off. I have been reading posts that other people have the same problem Just gonna be a pain taking the back off every night! Then I gotta figure out the brightness issues it seems most are having. But I can't figure out what use the picture button is if it only shows 1 pic?
It is a "Media" dock right?? It's great that I can just drop my phone into when I get back to my desk, but I have to constantly plug in and unplug my speakers.

Any app out there or other solution to this without rooting the phone?

Anyway to stop the light sensor? I have tried the brightness, it is set at none, still the little 4 buttons light up as soon as it gets dark. Dim the screen and still can read by the buttons. Why have a dimmer that only dims the screen?

I have a work profile and it shuts off wifi, turns my ringer off, etc. I would also like to turn the media volume off so that if I play a game or start an app with music it won't disturb others. In order to deal with the pain, she is using a program called "Hypno-Babies", which consists of a series of hypno-induction preparedness CDs, and then a "Birthing" CD to listen to."You feel no pain. Your pelvis is not splitting. Your vagina is not tearing..." I'm being as supportive as possible, as I have a role in this as well, but this is our second, and I know she's going to be asking for the epi about 2 hours into it!She wants to use her Droid to listen to the CD while she is in labor. The problem is that any distraction through the Droid will have an impact on the whole thing. (If the incoming messages notification sounds like a chicken, she might come out of all this clucking!) Well, maybe not that bad, but it will screw up her concentration.I use Sound Manager on mine, but I need to make sure that there's absolutely no chance that my wife's Droid does anything other than behave like an mp3 player.

Everytime I go select it, it lets me check smart alarm, and pick the duration I want (5 mins) and then the sound I want (breeze) but it still plays the regular alarm melody everytime- even though I can physically see that smart alarm is checked. View 2 Replies View RelatedI really like the car dock for the Droid, but I find the "Car Home" application to be very annoying.First, there are no options to customize it, and you are stuck with the shortcuts they think I want. Second, you can't even avoid it.I would be okay if you could just hit that home button to go to the regular home screen once everytime you get in the car, but the problem is that every time you end a call and try to go back to the home screen it takes you back to that car-home screen.Has anyone figured out a way to either disable this or select a different app to open when the phone is in the car dock?My ideal situation would be to have the ability to have the QuickDial app open everytime the phone is docked in the car (any have that come up with the home button is pressed while in the car).

I usually have my phone set to vibrate but I'm unable to change the media volume in any way. Ringer and notification volumes don't give me any problems. I have found that if I turn my phone off and then on again the media volume will be turned on too but it will get stuck silenced again shortly after.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have an issue with their Media Volume being set to 0 and when you adjust it, either when in an app (YouTube, mp3 player, RingDroid) or via Settings>Sound>Volume, it still won't adjust? I can't set the volume for Media no matter how I try. It visibly shows that I raised it in Settings, but then I back out and go back in to check, it's 0 again.
When I am in RingDroid, for example, I hit the volume button, the pop up for Media Volume shows at 0, and won't let me raise it with the volume buttons same for YouTube, etc. I know previously, I've reset the phone to fix it, but this is ridiculous. I don't know what's causing it other than possibly putting my phone on vibrate while at work, but that shouldn't affect the Media Volume, just Ringer and Alerts. And before anyone suggests it, I took the phone Off vibrate mode and still get the same result.
The volume buttons/rocker on my phone does not allow me to change to media only. If no media is playing it only changes the ringer volume.
Imagine this setting, in my car I have volume all the way up, I get out of car and put on headphones, volume is too loud. I ether play music to where my ears bust or I go into settings and change the volume there. When I try to turn it down immediately, it changes the ringer until I let that volume display disappear. Which means I'm stuck listening to it too loud until I let it disappear to where I can change the media volume.
My little rant is over, how do I force the volume buttons to only be media!
Is there a quick way to adjust the media volume without having to launch a media app? The rocker defaults to ringer, but since I like to use the voice search button a lot it is extremely irritating when the connection error bong or success bong blasts so loud. seems like those should be tied in with the ringer vol/vib control not media volume. I looked for a volume control app or widget to go with the buzzlock and ring profile icons i have unnecessarily taking up space, but i couldn't find one that looked like it fit the bill and worked on Droid.

But I noticed recently that suddenly the volume rocker only controls the Media Volume or the In-call volume (if you're in a call), not the Ringer Volume. I don't have anything playing, so not sure why it's like that. I want it to default to ringer and I'll worry about Media when I'm actually in a program that uses it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got the new 2.2 firmware and I hate the look of the revised clock app. Is there any way to re-download the media dock clock app from 2.1? The red/blue wavy colored backgrounds and the reflected numbers of the clock at the bottom used to look awesome - like a fancy alarm clock, but now with the wallpaper showing through it just looks like a widget overlaid over my normal phone apps. Not to mention I can't find a way to disable to screen saver and have to tap the screen every time I want to check the weather. Makes we wish I hadn't paid for the dock at all now.
