Anyone found out how you can dim the 4 buttons when your droid is in media dock? I know that they are controlled by the light sensor, and light up when in darkness. Anyway to stop the light sensor? I have tried the brightness, it is set at none, still the little 4 buttons light up as soon as it gets dark. Dim the screen and still can read by the buttons. Why have a dimmer that only dims the screen?

I use the media dock as a car dock. How do I un install the media dock app? I do not want it switching when docked (not even to the car dock, if there was a way to reverse them).

First problem is that when I hit the picture button I only get 1 picture?? I touch the screen and it does not even show arrows to scroll? I actually thought it would do a little slide show when you hit the picture button? When I hit the menu button all I get is the "share" option. Also my hard case I got from Verizon does not fit in the dock unless you take the back off. I have been reading posts that other people have the same problem Just gonna be a pain taking the back off every night! Then I gotta figure out the brightness issues it seems most are having. But I can't figure out what use the picture button is if it only shows 1 pic?
It is a "Media" dock right?? It's great that I can just drop my phone into when I get back to my desk, but I have to constantly plug in and unplug my speakers.

I hate getting notifications of every email while I am asleep but I still need to get phone calls and text messages for work. On my Blackberry I could change my preset volume settings by pushing one button. So far on the Droid I have not figured it out yet.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThree Droids in the family, had for approx 1 month, with no real battery problems other than drain with GPS use. Battery usage extremely predictable. Until yesterday. Day before yesterday, wife's phone reported battery charge of ~30% after being on media dock charger all night. Figured it was a connection glitch of some kind. Happened again today, then while I was looking at the phone, battery went from ~20% to 100%. Now seemed more like a status reading problem. Picked up my phone from its media dock - a different one - and surprise surprise, it too was reading ~30% after being on dock charging all night.
(Yes, we have power and the docks are plugged in.) Powering down phone doesn't reset status, still reads ~30%.
Who has the media dock from Motorola and what is your opinion of it? Does it charge the phone as well?

Everytime I go select it, it lets me check smart alarm, and pick the duration I want (5 mins) and then the sound I want (breeze) but it still plays the regular alarm melody everytime- even though I can physically see that smart alarm is checked. View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got the new 2.2 firmware and I hate the look of the revised clock app. Is there any way to re-download the media dock clock app from 2.1? The red/blue wavy colored backgrounds and the reflected numbers of the clock at the bottom used to look awesome - like a fancy alarm clock, but now with the wallpaper showing through it just looks like a widget overlaid over my normal phone apps. Not to mention I can't find a way to disable to screen saver and have to tap the screen every time I want to check the weather. Makes we wish I hadn't paid for the dock at all now.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI am running BB 0.4 and have been for some time.I use the multimedia dock that launches the clock.apk. The proplem I have is when I hit the dim button for when I go to sleep after a while the screen times out. It lasts for quite some time so it makes me think that once the phone hits 100% it defaults to my 1 minute screen time out because the phone stays on for at least an hour (I know this because ill plug it in and watch some tv then go to bed)Back when I was on nexbeast or before froyo I used to hit the dim then eventually it would default to a clock that would kind of bounce around the screen.I dont want to go back to nexbeast but surprisingly enough this is making me angry. I want to be able to use the clock for my room and the alarm clock but I also want to be able to dim the screen so I can sleep.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHere's another one in my quest for customization using the multimedia dock. Unfortunately, I have sub-par VZ service in many parts of my house. I'm considering the Wireless Extender ($249 - ouch), but until I make that call, I've been manually forwarding my cell phone to my home phone line.
Question: would there be a way to set up a script or functionality that would tell the Droid to forward to home when in dock and un-forward when taken out of the dock. Might be kinda cool. I think one of the mobile companies used to sell a dock that did just this in the early 2000s.
Running 2.2 from OTA when I take the phone out of a dock (Multimedia or car), the home screen has to rebuild it self. Meaning all the icons are slow to come back. think of it as on a windows machine Explorer dies and you have to do a start/run/explorer to get it back. Only difference i that this is automatic, just slow to get responsive again. Even swipping through the screen is slow at first. Is froyo, google's VISTA?

View 1 Replies View RelatedEven registering the broadcast receiver at the highest priority still fails to receive the Bluetooth media button events on the HTC Hero phone. The Bluetooth media button registration code works fine on the other Android phones that I have tested. Apparently this isn't the first time HTC has done something like this, as I also found a report of a similar problem on one of the HTC Microsoft Mobile Devices reported here
It seems extremely short sighted of HTC to code their media player so that it grabs the Bluetooth AVRCP media button events in such a way that other applications are unable to work with the Bluetooth head phone buttons and Bluetooth in car stereo systems.................

View 14 Replies View RelatedSo far so great with the new Droid X!! I have not had any of the lag problems or battery life issues that I have seen posted. My X is fast and smooth, I love it so far. Having said that, I can see a potential problem with the physical buttons on the device. When I first started using the X, the buttons were tight and had a crisp feel when pressed.
Now after 1 day of use, the" back" button is getting loose and is not nearly as crisp as it was. I don't think it will last much longer. I wish there was a way to back out of a screen or app via a screen button as opposed to the physical one. If anyone knows a way to avoid using the physical button to go back a web screen, please let me know. Other than that, this thing rules.
The buttons at the bottom of the phone (not the hard-press buttons, but the lower row of touch-screen buttons -- dialer, open app list, and contacts), are non-responsive.
Everything else seems to be working okay. Tried powering off/up, also tried battery pull, still the same.
I'm close to opting for "restore factory settings", but I've spent some time customizing, and that's really a last resort.
I wonder if there is a way to expand the power buttons "phone options" with things like 'reboot' for example. Yes, I know some themes have this ability, but I am looking just to expand the power button offerings and wonder if there is a root option or file edit or something can do so. Not interested in installing a theme just for this, they are not my gig, so I will pass on that as an option - so if the answer is no then, no worries.

1) What's the "RING" mean in the lower right corner? It's there whether I have the app muting or allowing the ringer, notifications, system sounds, and vibrations. In other words, I can't get it to go away.
2) In the EXTRAS menu, what's the difference between "Quick calendar" and "System Calendar"?
3) In the EXTRAS menu, what's "LED Blackout" do? It doesn't turn off the "back/menu/home/search" LEDs on a Moto Droid.

View 36 Replies View RelatedI have a cheap old bluetooth headset that worked great with my Q9c. Now I want to use it with the DX for podcast. It paired and connected just fine. And I can make phone call with it. However, it won't play any media audio (Google Listen, Pandora, etc.).
In bluetooth setting the device is connected to phone audio. Does it need to be connected to something like "media audio"? Is it just the limitation of my BT headset or I can work around it by tweaking a setting on the phone?
For those lucky few with the X, could you tell me if the phone is preloaded with any cool media? For example, some phones come with Avatar or Transformers and even books. Is there anything cool that can be used to demo how amazing the phone is?
