Aug 21, 2010With my Motorola Quench/Cliq XT the standard lock screen is a bit bland and requires the menu button to be pushed to unlock and I prefer a slide to unlock like many other phones has. However the problem is when I install advanced lock or lock 2.0 or some other locking app, it causes my camera button to wake the phone which gets pushed often while inside the holster case, the camera button doesn't wake the phone on stock. Does anyone know if there's a setting to disable the camera button function for such things?

Jun 7, 2010I've recently tried several lock-screen disablers/changers:
* mylockforandroid
* SmartLock
* No lock
* Executive Asisstant
* Lock 2.0
And a few others. It was my impression that something is inherently broken with all of them: Lock screens would sometimes work as advertised, but sometimes they would revert to original.
For example, right now I am using Tasker to disable the lock screen, and while it works, mostly, now and then it keeps reverting to original lock screen. Now I am kinda suspicious if one of the original applications I installed failed to uninstall properly.
Anyone had similar experience with lock replacement apps? Is there a way for me to see who changes the lock screen? Or at least inspect the scheduled tasks? I'd rather not do a complete hard reset of the device.

Jun 10, 2010So far, I love the Evo, but I am having three problems with it. And they are getting annoying. First off, some applications will randomly terminate. It started out being regular downloaded applications that would just end. Whatever, it was bearable albeit annoying. But now, sometimes important applications like "Touch Screen" (I don't think that's the exact name) are starting to terminate randomly. That made it so that I couldn't text (rebooting the phone restarted the application).Two, I seem to manage to accidentally press the screen in a random place just about once per minute when I'm holding the phone. It's getting to the point where I feel like it's starting to push random buttons when I just press the sides of the phone. I don't know, it's tough to describe. Also, there seems to be some other shortcut screen that pops up every so often. It's a small box in the middle of the screen that shows my six most recently used apps. I have no idea why it pops up, or how, but I would actually like to use it if I could figure out how to do it.
Three,lastly, it seems to lock up a lot. It just freezes, just like a computer would. It's probably done this about ten times now.So is anyone else having any problems like this? It's starting to get very annoying. Big blemishes for such an amazing phone... it makes me sad to think this has so many interfering problems.

Jan 18, 2010I am going crazy here... I've had this thing since it launched and everything is great except I keep hitting buttons with my face during calls! I mute, sometimes end calls, start 3 way calls etc and I have no idea how to prevent it. Is there any way I can make the screen lock during phone calls or change the call screen altogether?

He told me the password and I can use it to wake the phone up just fine but I use the slide screen, but now there is both password unlock and the slide screens. Nov 13, 2010Well if you use widget locker, and a security lock, Froyo Forces you to: Unlock widget locker lock screen, then undo the lock screen, then enter your security code. However with Android Eclair 2.1, there is an option to turn off the screen lock. From my understanding, if you had the lock-screen disabled when you do the update, it will remain disabled after the OTA. However there is no longer any way to enable it because Google removed the option. As most people would find that bad, it should allow me to use widgetlocker, and a security lock without having to unlock the screen twice. Or of course, just use widget locker, as I have no intention of going back to the stock lock screen.

Nov 17, 2010I have a Droid X. I was previously employed by a company that used Exchange Server and Active Sync and I added my company email account to the Droid X. This forced me to use a 4 digit pin as required by the mail admin of the company. I no longer work for this company, and deleted the active sync account from my phone (and no longer have access to it by any means). The security settings for the PIN. When I check SETTINGS -> LOCATION & SECURITY -> CHANGE SCREEN LOCK -> CHANGE SCREEN LOCK the options, "None" and "Pattern" are grayed out and not selectable. When I look under SETTINGS -> LOCATION & SECURITY ->SELECT DEVICE ADMINISTRATORS the device administrator is listed a "Corporate Sync" and I cannot change or delete this.

We reset the phone back to stock default uninstalling everything on the phone.

Nov 9, 2009I don't see this issue covered so I'll ask it.Apologize if someone has already mentioned it.When I put the Droid into the car dock, it automatically converts to the car home screen like it is supposed to, but nothing works unless I plug in the car charger... I can push the screen and buttons till I'm blue in the finger but nothing will work while not plugged in. The second I plug it in, it work perfect. Anyone else have this issue? Sep 28, 2010I upgraded to 2.2 this morning and after I did, it now ask for a PIN to unlock the screen. So, not only do I have to slide the lock over, I also have to enter a PIN. So, I went into settings and was going to turn it off; however, the option to turn off the screen unlock security now says "Disabled by remote phone administrator".
What am I missing here? There has to be a way to turn that off. I can't see how they can force me to use a PIN to unlock my phone.
