So I'm running 2.2 and now my camera wont work. I can open and take pictures using an Fx camera, but anytime I try to open the camera or camcorder it will open for maybe 2 seconds then just close, sometimes my screen will just be completely black, and also sometimes it tells me camera not available try again another time.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis morning my camera and video camera would open and then immediately close down. I shut the phone down and rebooted. Camera still did not open. Next, I shutdown the phone and removed the battery. After a few moments, I reinstalled the battery and rebooted. The camera still would not open. I had to do other work, so I just set the phone aside for a few hours. When I came back, I tried the camera again and after a short pause it opened, but not as smoothly as in the past. It is still not opening as it should. First it displays a very quick view of the desktop with an error message. It goes too fast for me to read and then it opens the camera app.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to the whole rotting thing, I installed the bugless beast on my droid 2 days ago and everything went great and it worked fine, I'm just having an issue with it being really lagy at times and the biggest problem is that it freezes everytime I open or close the keyoard, I have to forse close and wait for it to load everything up again, a message is desplayed and it says:
The application launcher+(process android.process.acore) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Then I hit forse close, it usually only happens when I open or close the keyboard but sometime it will happen at random. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst off, my X is rooted, running the original leaked 2.2. This morning, my stock camera app stopped working. I click on the app to open it, and it flashes a black screen for 1-2 seconds before returning to the home screen. It was working perfectly fine last night when I took 20+ pictures. The strange thing is that I have done absolutely nothing as far as messing with the phone. Not even a single app downloaded for the past 2 weeks (been busy on vacation!). The hardware is fine too, because I can take photos with Vignette. A battery pull and about 5 restarts has not solved the problem. Any ideas on how to fix this? Or is my only option to do a factory reset? Also, can I restore all my apps easily with titanium backup paid edition?

View 30 Replies View RelatedMaybe someone can help me out. I just got a brand new Milestone direct from Telus. It was working awesome for the first day, but now the camera app force closes.Here are the deets:
-with location services and/or GPS enabled, com.motorola.camera crashes 100% of the time when the location has been established
-with location services and GPS disabled, camera app works 100% with NO force close
-did a hard reset (wipe)
-tested GPS, working
-tested location services aka a-gps, working
Seems to me it must be a corrupted camera app, but I'm not sure how to fix this.
My HTC is really slow! When I receive a new message it takes about 30seconds to even open it, then a further 30 or so to wait for the keyboard to respond. I have tried deleting the messages from my inbox and starting fresh, but am slightly cautious about just giving it a factory reset!
Also, when i am finished a phone call, as I take the phone away from my ear, it flashes on and off, meaning that I can't actually put the phone down! The only way to do it is to take the battery out of the back and start again!
Overall, I'm not very impressed with the phone, its supposed to be suitable for a businessman, but I can't even get it to work as a personal user!
We have 4 other people in the house with the same phone and none of them are experiencing these problems.
Since receiving the 2.1 OTA it seems that the camera is not closing properly after exiting. I first noticed this after I received the OTA update and just assumed I needed to do a factory reset, which i did yesterday.I checked it again this morning, took a pic, waited an hour and a half, and voila it's still eating battery at a prodigious rate as compared to other apps and systems currently consuming battery. The only thing I've found that works to date is rebooting the phone.Any ideas? anyone else experiencing this? My 1.5 ran beautifully and 2.1 is too, (I'm in the Frisco camp) with the exception of this camera glitch.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI set my screen time out to 30 seconds and..it's been 30 seconds my screen is not timing out. This can be REALLY annoying when I forget to push the power button and just put the phone in my pocket and the battery drains.
I called verizon about this yesterday they had me turn my phone off and back on and then it did time out. Today I tried the same thing and it's not timing out..
The phone is brand new, only 3 days old has not been dropped or anything.
When im at my house 3g drops in and out like every other 5 seconds I was just wondering if this is normal or not.
View 10 Replies View RelatedThe AOL INSTANT MESSENGER (AIM) app is always open for some reason.. I see the Icon on the notification bar and it never goes away, even when I sign out of aim.. This is keeping my awake time at 50%.. Besides rebooting does anyone have a fix for this.. I dont download 3rd party task managers and apps because they seem to slow down the performance of the hero.. I think partiallly because it skipped the 1.6 and cupcake builds.. However there is an internal task manager (Applications>Manage apps> Menu/filter by running) but a force stop here seems not to fix the problem

When i go to the Display options I unclick the button for 30 seconds, click 2 minutes, then exit. A little while later the screen goes off and I go back to the Display settings and it is back at 30 seconds again. Issue:Recently, I switched my s duos from official Stock OS/ROM to PMP Ultra 8.5.1 for better features an usability. As I could see that after installing some apps(~8-10 in count), apps such as Gmail(while opening particular email), Link2SD, Gallery gets shutdown as soon as try to open them.
This issue happens after some time rebboting cell, and persist until next reboot, I could see that I have enough space and RAM available to manage yet more apps.
I have fixed the activity screen orientation to portrait on AndroidManifest.xml file. When I open or close the keyboard the activity gets restarted. How to avoid this restart?

Evo camera even after tapping focus is terrible. I could read the BB photo as to text on screen but EVO not even close. Can I not take macro type pictures with the EVO camera? Seems a limitation or is the camera gone bad?

I cant figure out why my camera button is tiggering the volume and not the camera. Every time I press it to use my camera it keeps lowering my ringer volume and when im in the camera mode(from app) it wont snap any pics, it just takes me back to my main page and lower the volume. Can anyone help me out?
View 8 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else have this issue?When I go in for a close up shot, say 20cms away, the camera focuses fine, turns green, makes a beep them shoots. All fine but when you see the preview or even go into the gallery to view the picture it is out of focus.Sometimes i have to pull back a good 50cms before it will record a focused shot. Is this the macro distance for the DHD?I know it doesn't have stabilization so I've tried this with it mounted and on timer. Still does it. But once I pull back away it behaves as it should.Hope this makes sense. Am I doing something wrong? Is there something in the settings that will eliminate this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Fascinate for a week and am having some trouble - actually, lots of trouble with it. Any suggestions are welcome:
1. At night I close out all running programs except Zeam - which I'm using as a home replacement since LauncherPro doesn't play nicely with the Fascinate (too much lag). When I close down I have about 90% left on my battery, in the morning, the phone is dead, battery drained. I typically wake up to about 5 emails and no other notifications so it's not processing a ton of incoming data. I can plug it in at night, but the standby time is supposed to be 312 hours. Am I doing something wrong?
2. I can't get the camera app to close. I sometimes have to pull the battery in order to get it to close. I try hitting the home key and get no response, the back key yields nothing, and the power key won't turn it off. The camera remains functional as I try each of these keys. Even after hitting the power key I can immediately take a picture.
3. GPS won't get a lock. I know this is a known problem, but is it a problem on every device, or is it hit and miss?
I really love the Fascinate's form factor and gorgeous screen, but I'm struggling with whether or not to trade for the Droid X before my 30 days are up. The home key lights, lack of text editing assistance (via trackball, trackpad, or on screen software), lack of LED notification light, GPS issues, and lag are making me lean towards the X. I had an X when they first came out and I never quite got used to the size of it. It never felt comfortable in my hand. But the phone itself worked great. I'd prefer not to have to root my phone to get it to work properly.
Is there an application (or one in the works) that will allow us to apply a sound effect to the slider opening and closing? Maybe base it off of when the screen rotates + keyboard lights up? I would love to apply 2 seperate notifications. One for open and one for close. Anyone got an application like this in the works or know of one that would work on Samsung Moment? I know there is a notification for when you unplug the power, but I'd love to have 2 seperate from that for JUST the slider. I can't believe we can't modify seperate notification sounds custom without apps.
View 15 Replies View RelatedSo I spent the last hour or more in my backyard in 107 degrees taking pictures of flowers at stock settings with both phones. NOT an easy task I will tell you that. My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button.
My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.
