Motorola Droid :: Can't Receive Incoming Calls After 2.0.1 Update?

Dec 27, 2009

All the incoming calls I've received since 2.0.1 update look like this: and it slides right/left not up or down like the arrows point. The whole animation graphic is rotated. No forced update, I waited till I got the OTA. Not rooted, no custom unlock or homes.

Motorola Droid X :: Not Receive The Gingerbread Update Due To Resolution

Oct 26, 2010

Hear that Droid X may possibly not receive the Gingerbread update due to resolution.

I have 1 week left to return my Droid X and get a phone that will support Gingerbread when it comes out. What about the D2? Will any of the current phones available from Verizon work with Gingerbread?

I know it is speculation right now, but I want to make sure I can and will receive GB. My phone is rooted, but I do not want to wait for a port after it is released.

Motorola Droid X :: Yet To Receive OTA / "checking For Available Update"?

Jul 23, 2010

My wife and I have yet to receive the OTA update for our DXes. I verified my system version is still .516. Every time I hit "System Updates" it either gives me a quick "can't do that right now" message or it sits and spins forever on "checking for available update". I have not received any notifications of an update being available.

Is it just my household? Is anyone else experiencing this? And does anyone have advice for me, besides "be patient"?

Android :: Droid Eris - Unable To Make Or Receive Calls After 2.1 Update / Phone Freezes

Jun 19, 2010

I updated my Eris to 2.1 about a month ago, and it's been running fine up until about last week. Lately, the battery hasn't been lasting me more than 12 hours, and I've done everything I can to save battery life, plus the battery cover usually gets hot enough to cook some eggs on top of. The problems I've encountered lately is with making and receiving calls. When trying to call someone, it seems to take forever. I know my phone isn't the fastest Android, but it used to work fine. It takes a good 30 seconds just to type in a 10 digit number; the phone usually freezes a couple of times, its just generally laggy.

When I try to receive a call, the same basic thing happens. The phone freezes up while I am trying to slide the bar down on the lock screen, etc. Here's the main issue. After sifting through the freezing and lagging, and finally get to the call, I cannot hear anything, and they cannot hear me. The call is connected; I see the notification up top, and I have got the vibrate to tell me it's connected.

Motorola Droid :: Any Interface To Control Android Devices Via USB

Nov 25, 2009

I did a search and all I came up with is people trying to stream audio via bluetooth. One of the nice features I am a little envious of the ipods having is that about every stereo out there has an interface to control the ipod remotely. Is there anything similar available that works via the USB for android devices?

Motorola Droid :: Old Devices Will Be Missed

Nov 10, 2009

I would like to thank my Ipod for a solid four years of music playing, however I regret to inform everyone that my droid murdered it last night. It now rest in peace in my computer desk drawer for the rest of eternity. Now that I have the droid I have no use for it, and am happy I don't have to carry the damn thing around. I also lay to rest my LG dare, you were great for the year I had you but honestly, you were just a plain old phone with a touch screen. You will (not) be missed.

Motorola Droid :: BB V0.3 - Receive Sms / Mms

Jun 30, 2010

Went back to NexBeast 0.2, love it. I was using Handcent, and removing both IM.apk, and Mms.apk, along with Mms.bak. I discovered that I no longer received mms messages which I was under the impression Handcent covered, so I went back to previous backup before removal of apk's, then uninstalled Im.apk and Mms.apk, did not work, I then only removed Im.apk at which point I received the mms, but one that had sound on it had no sound playing. Other things removed- talkback.apk, kickback.apk, soundback.apk, amazonMp3.apk, youtube.apk, carhome.apk, CorpCal.apk, and a few more can't remember right now. Other question, spec on BB v0.3: scripts; in the past I've used a set of scripts from DroidForums which I place in /system/xbin and then they are all available to me. This does not work for BB v0.3? The ROM has a lot of great scripts, but not general ones, like removing what app I want, at least AFAIK. Is there a way to do that with this ROM? Also when using Switch command, do I have to rename the app to the apk it is replacing?

Motorola Droid :: March Madness On Devices?

Mar 15, 2010

I've been searching for a way to watch the upcoming college basketball tournament on my Droid. I know that CBS put out an app for iPhones allowing iPhone users to stream every single game as well as view brackets, trash talk and post on facebook and twitter, and number of other things. I know there is not an app for android users to stream games, my question is, does anyone know of a site that will stream the games that DOES NOT require flash player? Or if anyone has another idea I'd love to hear it! Round 1 starts Thursday and I'll be stuck in an office. I'd rather use my computer for work and stream the games on my phone.

Motorola Droid X :: If I Root 2.1 - Can I Receive Official 2.2 OTA?

Sep 7, 2010

I couldn't find the answer to my question even though this thread seems to dance around it.

There is pretty much only ONE reason i want root on my droid x: to rename all VZW bloatware. That's it. I don't want to overclock. I don't want to get rid of blur. I don't want to custom theme or anything. All i want is to rename the bloatware apk's to bak's.

So my question is, if i root my original 2.1 droid x and change the bloatware app names, when the OTA is getting pushed, will i receive it and be able to upgrade just fine? I realize that if i get the official 2.2 it should break my root and i'm ok with that because right now for me official 2.2 > official 2.1 with bloatware renamed. Mainly since i am confident 2.2 will be rooted soon after it comes out.

Lastly, is the universal and root still the simplest way to root droid x 2.1?

Motorola Droid :: Receive Email Notification When 2.1 Released

Mar 5, 2010

Matt over at Motorola has set up a thread you can subscribe to so that you can receive an email notification when 2.1 has begun its rollout. (I guess more realistically - as soon as it's started and Matt is able to get the thread updated - but I've got faith in 'ol Matt!) You do have to be a member there to subscribe.

For those of you not looking to sign up there - you can subscribe to THIS thread for instant email notification if you'd like. As soon as I get his email - I'll repost it here saying so. Yes, the notice will be a hair behind the very instant it is released, but with any luck not too behind. I will delete this thread after the update is complete. The making of this or Matt's thread does not indicate it's any closer to release. No exchanges substitutions or refunds.
