View 5 Replies View RelatedSo you want some cool ringtones but the music you listen to isn't supported by Tmobile website... or the I'm too cheap to pay 1$ for a ringtone because I blew 200$ on my phone.
Step 1. Get Audacity. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Step 2. Find a file named Lame_enc.dll This is the mp3 encoder needed for audacity to export files as mp3 files.
Step 3. Find something worth making a ringtone out of. Audacity has an excellent ability to record anything you can hear through your speakers. I instead just loaded the program. then open the mp3 file I wanted to use.
In this case I choose a file I recorded while I listened to it for the sole purpose of turning it into a ringtone. takes a sec to import it. Then Play the song to ensure it is what you want. Also note the time marks for when you want the ringtone to start and when you want it to end.
I am a newb here so please take it easy on me I was wondering if or how I could send a ringtone to another phone IE. Kzurb Sonar ring tone. Anyone know of a way besides using the voice recorder on the other phone. How can I send this tone IE. MMS to another phone? I would be happy to get any suggestions.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got my Droid X yesterday (first smartphone). This seems like a general Android 2.1 question, so I put it here.
I'm trying to use a custom ringtone, no matter what I do it's cutting short and looping after 10sec. I used audacity and edited the .mp3 file to get it under 300kb (still just over 30sec. long), and changed the bitrate to 64. Is there something I'm missing that has nothing to do with the size limit?
And along those same lines, is there any way to do up the size limit generally?
How can I assign a ringtone per contact? I'm very new to android in general and I just bought the new Motorola droid.

I have tried going into my text message main screen - menu - notification - ringtone BUT this puts the new ringtone on and does not turn off the old ring tone. I have tried changing my notification ringtone in the app Ringdroid and that changes everything but the text messages.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had to do a factory reset on my Eris. Kept getting the "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly" error and nothing but the reset worked. I "lost" my ringtone app and I SWEAR I saw somewhere that Eris had a default ringtone maker app so there was no need to DL one. Can someone point me in that direction, or am I loosing my mind?

View 16 Replies View RelatedI am a newbie android phone user (formerly a BB user) and new to this site so forgive me if this has been asked before. I have the Samsung epic and downloaded music to listen to with my headphones. While listening to music, I tested calling my phone and the music changed and began playing my music ringtone. I also noticed that my "ringtone" was playing outloud also. Here is my question.... is there a better setting I can set so that my phone doesn't play my ringtone out loud when I am listening with my headphones. With how it is currently set, I can see it disturbing other people around my while in a coffee shop, the gym, etc. Thanks for any help!

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow will Android change the ringtone market?
It'll be pretty easy to put/store music/mp3 on your phone with an Android device I'm guessing. And, I would imagine it would be quite simple to set this sound as your ringtone.
Not to mention... you could set various sounds to various events such as an alarm clock tone, a tone when you press a button, a tone when people call you, etc...
Do you think this will CRUSH the ringtone marketers who are making tons of money at the moment selling tones on these closed devices?
