View 25 Replies View RelatedI've searched the threads, haven't found an answer yet. How do i apply a downloaded ringtone to set as my notification tone?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI emailed HTC about a request for an option to turn off the feature to disable your ringtone while the handset is face down. This would affect not being able to hear the ringtone while in your pocket, defeating the purpose of a cell phone and not being able to hear incoming calls. I'm Dakota, and I will be glad to assist you today I understand how frustrating it can be when your HTC Device is not able to ring when laying face down. The complication you have received from your HTC Legend will be addressed with the FOTA Update. No information has been released on when the update will be released. Please wait patiently for the update to be released to address this complication on your HTC Legend. You will receive a notification on your Legend letting you know when the update is available. Go on your device to Home, Menu, Settings, About Phone, System Updates, and check for the update when available. Unfortunately there are no other settings HTC is able to offer to resolve this concern until the update is received. Check out HTC - Mobile Phones, Smartphones, Cell Phones, PDAs for any information about your device. how do i set a ringtone for my standard text sound? i would also like to have another email sound...is that possible? my phone just got re-booted so I lost everything
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm saving a sound from my app to be used as a ringtone or a notification sound. Here's part of my code, taken from this page:
CODE:................
My understanding is that the sound will be saved as well as a ringtone, a notification sound and an alarm, as the flags are all set to "true". At least on the emulator this does work but on the actual device, the sound only shows up in the ringtone list, and I have no idea why.
I've tried to investigate further: removing the line with "IS_RINGTONE" won't change anything (in case only one flag can be used at a time), the sound doesn't show up in the list with the notification-sounds.
I have a problem setting a ringtone from a resource in my app:
Uri uri = Uri.parse("android.resource://com.package.app/" + R.raw.sound1); RingtoneManager.setActualDefaultRingtoneUri(this, RingtoneManager.TYPE_RINGTONE, uri);
I've noticed also some people had the same problem but got no answers. Do any of you guys have any idea of how making this work? (without having to copy the file to the sdcard)
i like the sound ringtones and notification sounds on htc evo4g and would like them on my droid x does anyone have the sound file?

View 2 Replies View RelatedBack when I got my phone, I transfered an MP3 from the computer to the SD card and selected it as ringtone. it is still there and still works.....but now, after the OTA update, when I go into settings/phone ringtone this sound is not on the list. How do I get it back?
Also, under notifications, in the list of sounds the ones on my SD card are not there. I have a sound stored on the card that I would like to set as the notification. I mounted the card to my computer to verify that these files are indeed on the SD card. The phone just isn't seeing them in the list of available sounds...but, they do play if I go into MP3 or Music app.
I have sounds files in my res/raw folder and i want to select a sound to set as a ringtone on the click of a button. Wonder how can i do that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Legend and I am trying to send SMS messages to an e-mail, but they do not arrive to the email or they take a long time to send. I am using the default SMS app.
Is there any way to get SMS to e-mail to work?
any chance or way setting up sound alert for new email received and new email sent. ie when new sms sent can we setup sound too for that?
View 6 Replies View Relatedis possible to import a sound on my memory card so that i can use it as the Alert tone for when i receive a text message. Am i stuck with the ones that are preloaded on the phone (they are pants!) or do i have to go on the web and buy one speciffically for the X10? .......
View 10 Replies View RelatedIn my car I am currently using a cassette adapter plugged into the earphone jack. Two things I noticed.
1) When listening to audio (panda) Nav cuts out the music and speaks it's direction extremely louder than music was playing. Anyone know if there is a seperate setting for the Nav's volume?
2) When listening to panda and I receive a call, panda goes silent but there is no ringtone. at first i thought panda was buffering but when i looked down at the phone I had an incoming call. Normal? Did I dumb thumb something?
I don't think it would be a big problem when it is in the car dock but I haven't used it. On the windshield it's too far away and my car doesn't have any flat surfaces close to the driver. Last thing, with this setup phone call audio comes through the car speakers and with phone on the passenger seat my caller said the call clarity was better than my last phone.
Why is that i can`t assign any MP3 file from SD card as ringtone or notification sound from settings tab?
View 1 Replies View RelatedRuns stock, 2.2.1. I have different ringtones for 'phone ringing, gmail notification & calendar alarm...
In last week or so these have changed a couple of times for no apparent reason (nope, it wasn't me!): Easily reset... . I'd downloaded Skype & wondered if that was doing something so uninstalled it. Just happened again..
Thinking of getting the Legend. how would I separate my email contacts from my phone contacts? I don't want to have to sift thru all of my email contacts when calling someone? thoughts?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI did a search and found one person that had a similar problem but there was no suggestions that solved it. So I am starting a new thread.
I have been a long time Blackberry user and made the switch to Android just yesterday morning and really love it. I hope someone can help me with this issue.
I have noticed that a couple of times I get the email notification sound but there is no email. A couple of minutes later I receive an email with its own notification sound. Another time, I heard the notification sound AND the new email icon on the top left of the screen but there was no email. Several minutes later, the email was delivered to the handset.
The email accounts that I have set up on the handset are one yahoo with mail plus, and one gmail account. I believe the issues happened with the gmail account.
Just like title says how can I assign a ringtone to my yahoo email.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHad my Legend for about a month and a half now and I've started getting 'low phone memory' errors. Looked in the memory lists and it says the only 'biggies' are maps at 4mb each (and there's 4 of them?) and 'HTC mail' at 116mb. I only have my hotmail account, texts, and Gmail and they're all empty. Not really got that many applications installed (4 or 5) and had to remove some just to get the phone to stop reminding me. I've emptied the drafts, trash and cache and it made little to no difference.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have added my work email to my Evo. Is there a way to add a separate ringtone for my email notifications.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a ringtone from an app that had movie sound clips. It works fine as my ringtone, but for some reason I can't seem to find a way to email it to a friend.
Anyone know how to do this?
Just wondering if there is anyway to set my phone in such a way that my ring tone will turn off when I open the phone (either unlock/ do anything to the phone). As it is right now my ring tone (a full mp3 song imported from my pc) will play until I drag down my notification bar. I'm using tone picker and handcent sms if it makes any difference.
Also, is there a way to edit the the keyboard input sound when typing with the stock keyboard?
When I get an email I don't hear anything or there a way to make the vibrate or assign it 2 a ringtone.
