I'm looking for a way to convert a .m4b audio book file into something that is playable on my Droid. Keep in mind I'm on a mac and would prefer a way to do this in OS X but Windows is possible if no other option..

I used to have a pos iphone and recently got the samsung moment. i was reading threads about putting dvds on the moment, but how do i convert from a VLC media file .m4v to whatever is needed to play on the moment?

(open from an email or use in window's movie maker)I have a new computer with Windows seven at work and a Vista laptop at home. I can send the video to myself and try to open in from my email or tether to the computer and transfer the file manually. Either way I can't open with windows media player. Video's taken with default "Camcorder" app on a myTough 3G running Android 1.6.I know it has something to do with the codec's the phone uses but wonder why they wouldn't use codec's that are compatible with the most commonly used pc's?Is there any way around this? Some kind of converter for the computer or for the phone?Is there another camcorder app that can record video with a different codec or is it phone hardware specific?So far have been able to use these forum's to sort out most of my Android problems but I'm stumped on this one. It doesn't seem like it should be this hard to do. Should be more user friendly.
View 5 Replies View Relatedhad my g1 since it came out.Im trying to convert video files for it but everytime I do, the video player says it cannot play format it plays perfectly except it has no 'RW, PAUSE/PLAY, FF' options when I touch the screen.It keeps saying 'CANNOT PLAY VIDEO: Sorry, this video cannot be played. But it is playing the video just no options.I used SUPER C and followed all the instructions, converted like 7 different avi movies all the same.I used "MediaCoder' because you get to tweak the contrast, brightness and etc making video's picture perfect same thing though.I want to be able to watch videos on the G1.The YouTUBE apps is horendous and a joke compared to the iphone youtube app.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI know SOMEONE will ask why since the size of the screen makes the quality difference between DVD and Blu-ray near impossible to see.However, the point is, I have lots of movies on Blu-Ray only, and would like to watch them on my Droid on occasion.Now, I know there is a way, they have programs to convert Blu-ray files to DVD style files, or even directly to MPEG-4 format. Emicsoft, Apecsoft, iSkysoft, and 4U M2TS Converter. My question revolves around finding one that is good, since every one I have found has an absolutely useless free trial. You can only convert files that are small, you can only convert certain files, or they plaster a giant watermark over the screen making it near impossible to notice any quality issues. I'm not paying $30-50 for a program that may not be what I want, it's ridiculous. One of them had a function to merge all the files into one like Handbrake does with DVD files, but again, I could not test that. Worst case is having to convert from the Blu-ray file to DVD file and then use Handbrake to convert to MPEG4, I'm fine with that if that's the way it has to be.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI got my HTC Hero on three UK network a week ago and I love it!!! Anyway I have pretty much sorted it all out but have a slight problem when it comes to music. I currently have 5 gigs worth of songs I would like to transfer but only a 2 gig memory card. Using WMP11 I converted them to 64kbps and synced perfectly but then I realised that WMP had converted my mp3s to WMAs. For the first few minutes it would work fine on the hero but then it would suddenly stop and no more music would play. I also noticed that the temperature would usually jump from 27.1 to 44.2 while the music was playing. All in all my question is.... are there any free programs that will convert mp3s to lower bitrates which are still mp3 format and sync them to my HTC hero?

It uses a WMP DRM'd stream for live matches, is there any media players on android that I can use or maybe a 3rd party service which can transcode the stream in a format the phone can understand?
I took a video on my Moto Droid, and sent it to my friend on his Eris. He downloaded the file from Gmail and but when goes to play the file, it states that the video is not supported. We have tried converting it to a .mp4 and it will not play either, even with a couple of App's from the Marketplace same result. Yet I thought the droid/Eris both supported .3GP? Works fine on his PC with Quicktime, and the video plays fine on my Droid. Is it because I took it in Hi-Res mode, and the Eris does not support that screen resolution? Or did we screw something up?

The real issue is it will play as mpeg 2 or 4 fine, but its the fact that it only shows up as a small rectangle and does not use the full potential of the screen. When I put sd where I saved the movie into my hero, the movie fills up the whole screen even though the dvd is wide screen..I am using DVD Fab to convert my dvds, it works fine with my hero and my ipod touch.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my HTC Desire for a couple of months now and it's truly a great phone! Today my 32Gb micro SD card arrived for it and I set about moving my media onto it. I wanted to see if I could watch movies on my phone so I set about converting one from a full HD .mkv file to an .mp4 using handbrake. I read up on what the best parameters are and stuck to them religiously.I can play other videos on it no problem but when it comes to my own it just says that it can't play them, I've tried Meridian (which seems unstable as hell btw) but that doesn't help. My file is a couple of gigs in size when the encoding is done but I'm not short on space so that's not such an issue. I don't know why the phone is being so picky, can anyone please suggest what I might be doing wrong?

Now it turns out in every audioplayer i have downloaded I have duplicates of every track (one for each time I synced) Also, the "official" audio player won't play ANY tracks at all. Nothing will play. Just keep getting the annoying message: "sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file."
Which is impossible, as I used doubleTwist to sync in the first place. And I thought that everything got converted so it would work. Now it seems everything - including what did work beforehand - won't work now. I'm really starting to dispair as i bought this thing to replace my ipod that got stolen a few weeks back and am now on contract and really don't want to be regretting it.

Before video's would stream over my connection, however 2.2 comes out and know I keep getting error's or programs just shut down. View 3 Replies View RelatedCan't play embeded video from any web pages on my HTC Desire. BBC site said i needed to download the correct version of flash player from Adobe. Adobe support stated that 'flash player for the operating system or browser' in not available as it only supports Google Nexus One.Its a 2 day old Desire so me thinks there may be a problem with the Desire or more likely i have been a bif and missed something.Apologies if this has been covered else where in the forums but the search didn't throw up anything useful and i was losing the will to live ploughing through page after page.
